1 Corinthians 12: 10} To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the ability to discern and distinguish between ( the utterances of true) spirits (and false ones).

The Lord really impressed on my heart today how many of us are lacking the gift of discernment. Why is that? Mostly it's because we spend more time in the world than we do with God. Many Christians today don't go to church and forsake the assembling of themselves. Many do not even pick up the Bible to read it or study it. And many Christians are too busy to spend quality time talking to the Lord and praying. Most Christians who do go to church today fall in 3 catagories. They are either people who make things happen, people who are habit church goers and just do it because they feel it's the right thing to do or feel obligated to do it, or they just go to warm up the benches. If there is something you see lacking in your church, then you do something about it rather than waiting on someone else to move. We all need to develop the heart of a servant.

We should never forsake the assembling together of ourselves! Why? Because each one of us has been given a spiritual gift that is to be used to better empower the Body of Christ. Not only that but when we don't attend we are either being robbed of a gift or blessing someone has for us or else we rob another of a blessing God desires to give them. The Body is not complete when one member is missing! It's so important to have the gift of discernment so that we can separate good from evil and false from truth. We should actually be praying and asking God for this gift. It could be a lifesaver to us someday. The gift of discernment will help us to know the true nature of some of the people we deal with.

I just love it when God will use a person to give a message from Him about something sinful that someone may be operating in and their reply is that this is not God, that God would not snitch on them. Well guess what? He will reveal if there are things we need to know about a person....that is the gift of discernment. He will have us pray for them and not say a word many times. But then, if things don't change He will send a person. And if that doesn't work He will allow circumstances into our lives. He will always do His utmost to get us back on the set path He has put us on! As the world would say...you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time. I don't know about you, but I've had many people in my life that I am so glad the Lord revealed to me what they were really up to. Some were users, manipulators, controllers, liars, false teachers, false prophets and the list goes on. God will protect His people by revealing what others are up to or what they are operating in. Sorry to disappoint those of you who love to hide secrets!

There are times, I'm sure many of us have seen, where someone appears to be good and righteous yet we get that checking in our spirit about them. Amen? Well, that's God's way of warning us to beware. God will reveal when a person's intent is evil or when they are operating in things they should not be. I know in my life, especially when I was first born again, I used to operate in things like pride etc...that were not very pleasing to God. I thank God every day that there were people discerning enough to see it and who prayed for me. And I thank God for those in authority over me who came to me and talked with me about it. But the other key is that we have to be open to being corrected and teachable at all times. Not everything said to us by another is an attack, or preaching or any such thing. God will often send someone to us to state the facts of what is going on in our lives. And thank God He does! Why? Because most times when we operate in wrong things our discernment is clouded and we become blinded.
Satan can and will use Christians who are in any form of rebellion or disobedience to cause strife in the Body of Christ and to destroy it. The gift of discernment is one of the most important gifts we can ever ask God for. It's so important to stay humble and open to whatever God wants to do. If you don't have the gift of discernment, ask for it! We have not for we ask not! This precious gift will one day save your life and keep you from circumstances that could well bring a whole mountain of crushing troubles into your life. God is moving in awesome ways today. His glory is about to hit this world and the churches as never seen before. Get connected! Hanging around with Christians friends and avoiding going to church is not the connection God is speaking about in His Word. He wants us in church, with the family of God, and fully functioning in our God given gifts. Otherwise we not only rob people and ourselves, but we rob God of what He desires to do through each one of us. Quit following man made religions and get involved in a serious relationship with our Lord. Find a church that is alive and operating in the gifts of the Spirit. Stop being led by man made traditions, programs and endoctrinations and be led by the Spirit of God in all things! God bless you. I love you, but Jesus loves you so much more than I ever could.
