THE IGNORANT OFFERING AND THE "FOOL"
The condition of "ignorance" can be viewed as a form of "affliction", or an ailment, because it is toxic in nature, it can spread it's inflammation and infection to others, it causes obvious changes in the condition of the "body" and it's quite possibly, "curable", if "caught" in time. "Ignorance" is similar to high blood pressure, in that it can go undetected (bythe ignorant) for a long time, but it is a "silent killer", and by the time it is undeniably recognized or acknowledged,, the soul of the ignorant may be on it's way to hell. This is why the Bible says tat the people "PERISH FOR A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE"! Ignorance,by definition, is an unawareness, an absence of knowledge, or the resistance to, or rebellion against knowledge, and of truth. All ignorace is not a matter of a simple "don't know, or don't know better", because many who are certifiably "ignorant" are well acquainted with"right" and with "truth", but they "choose" their path and their contrary responses, so that actually qualifies them as being the ignorant's "first cousin",the "fool", because they share a great deal of the same 'genetic" make-up. The "ignorant"are often considered to be "slow "or remedial , and clueless, like they just don't "get it", while the "fool" may be a "Rhodes" scholar", and a member of "mensa", and is often crafty, cunning, and slick in carrying out their ignorance, but the results are the same; destruction, detrimental choices, and irrelevant speech!! Neither is without excuse, because the Bible declares that if ANY man LACK WISDOM, just ask God, and He will delight in rescuing you from your condition, and bringing you amongst the prudent and the informed. One thing the ignorant and the fool share in common is the fact hat they probably could go undetected for a very long time, but they always make the mistake of opening up their mouths, and their condition overflows like rivers of muddy water, and sometimes they catch others off guard, when their conversation, "denseness", and cognitive deficiencies are revealed, and all one can say is "Wooowwww!", and it's not in admiration, either!
The igorant and the fool have always been amongst us, so much so, that there was a man in 1 Samuel:25:3 whose name was Nabal, and was translated to mean "fool",and that is exactly how he conducted himself. Apparently there was such an epidemic of ignorance in the Old Testament, that an actual "sacrifice" or "offering" was declared for forgiveness from this malady or ailment, known as the "ignorance offering". There was one ignorance offering for the individual; "If a "soul" (singular) shall SIN THROUGH IGNORANCE against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them: If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering. So, here we see that ignorance is no respector of persons, and as it befalls the "lay person", so does it befall the "priests". Then there was the "corporate" ignorance offering: "And if the WHOLE CONGREGATION (obviosly it spread) of Israel sin through IGNORANCE, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty ; when the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation". Lastly, there was a particlar ignorance offering for dignitaries and "rulers"; "When a "ruler" hath sinned and done somewhat through "ignorace" against any of the commandments of the Lord his God concerning things which ought not to be done, and are guilty; or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned , come to his knowledge;he shall bring his offering,a kid of the goats, a male without a blemish. And if any of the "common people" sin through ignorance , while he doeth something against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and is guilty,of if his sin, which he hath sinned , come to his knowledge, the he shall bring his offering, a female kid of the goats without blemish."These provisions for forgiveness were made, based on the absolute unawareness of the commamndments that were broken,and not for the willfull rejection of and rebellion against what ought to be done and what shouldn't, and one of great wealth position, or prestige,was held in the same regard for their ignorance and transgressions as the poorest laborer. One of the most humbling things abouth the Lord is that, he makes a way of escape, and establishes a path towards forgiveness for us, even when we persistently, consisitently, and often, willfully, disobey,dishonor, disrespect, and hurt Him.
In the New Testament in the Book of Acts, the Israeltes were guilty of three major things that reflected the ultimate state and condition of utter ignorance, since the birth, death,and ressurection of chrusr, as the Proitiation of our sins;they denied the holy One and the Just, and secondly, desired a murderer to be granted unto them; thirdly, they killed the Prince of life, Whom God hath raised from the dead;whereof we are witnesses"! This was the greatest demonstration of sheer, bold, and arrogant ignorance, of all time, in that, if they had known Whom they beat, unmercifully, crucified, and abused, they would've "called in sick" and stayed home 'crucifixion day', and just "had a V-8"! This ultimate ignorance, was only because the prince of this world had binded their understanding, because Jesus had enough notoriety , and enough unwanted publicity, fueled by His enemies, to be "posted in every Post Office", on every "camel's milk carton all over the land, and He was whispered and murmured about at every watering hole, well, temple gathering, Pharisee's meeting", and harvest field in the land, so if His purpose and Revealed Person was 'hidden", it was hidden from them that were lost, even as it's hidden,today, from the philosophical, the religious, atheists, agnostics, and those who follow other doctrines of demons! Christ is not a "theory" or a "hypothesis", but the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and after that, He's the Benediction, and the Selah! The Bible repeatedly reminds us that "those things",or "these things" were "written" for our learning,and so that we would not be "ignorant" of the enemies M.O, and the weapons in his demonic arsenal. "Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the IGNORANCE that is IN them, because of the blindness of their heart. There are demonic forces sent to deafen one's ears', and camouflage one's vision, so that the truth of the Gospel, and the Revelation of Jesus Christ will be far from you, and keep you in bondage to a "lack of knowledge". There are spirits of sluggishness, arrested and crippled understanding, stupor, and no comprehension, that gain access through the lack of personal relationship with Christ outside of the weekly , routine, sanctuary experience, and not being rooted and grounded in the Word, by one's own devotion, and time spent in God's presence for themselves! The Lord admonishes us through the entire New Testament to "learn of Him", and to seek Him while He may be found, to study to show oneself approved, to seek instruction,and follow and pursue wisdom, and to acquire knowledge regarding His kingdom. The Bible says "And the "TIMES OF THIS IGNORANCE, GOD "WINKED" AT, BUT NOW COMMANDETH ALL MEN EVERYWHERE TO REPENT":
In Isaiah, He made this "judgement" "His watchmen are blind; they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down,loving to slumber". Yea they are greedy dogs, which can never have enough". The ignorance He was referring to here , is the fact that any believer, especially, "watchmen",should have the knowledge that we are complete in Christ, and not in bondage to the things and gods of this world, and His kingdom is not meat and drink,but rightousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost"! They should know that we are to only "pant after' HIM, as the deer panteth for the waterbrooks, and not the accumulation of stuff, things, and the temporal! The apostle Paul spent a great deal of his career relieving, and delivering the people from every form of He informed the and instructed them concerning the way of the dead, spiritual gifts, satanic maneuverings, and the ways of Christ!"ignorance" so that when they stood before Christ, they would be without excuse, and his hands wold be free of their blood. He admonished us to have compassion on the "ignorant" , and on them that are out of the way, because there's a vdeo of us in an "ignorant" state of existence is in a very near archive!
Only a "fool" says in his heart "There is no God", because he's aware of everything around him that testifies of the existence of a True and Living God, so ignorace will never be is "bliss"! Proverbs declares that a wise man recieves instruction, but a prating "fool" will fall, and he that utters slander is another kind of a "fool", but even he is counted wise, when he holds his peace! Then again, every fool will be found "meddling" instead of having the wisdom to tend to his own ignorant business, so that he can get off the "special" van with the "clown stickers',and ride with everybody else! The very hearts of fools proclaim foolishness, because that's what's IN them, and as a man, SO is he!" "Wisdom" (the opposite of ignorance) is too high for a "fool" (it's foolishness to him), because a fool despises the truth. We are counselled to not answer a "fool" according to his own folly, because one has need of deliverance in order to outrun ignorance. A fool uttereth all his mind, in ignorance, rather than having the wisdom to watch his tongue, consider the matter, and let his speech be seasoned with salt and grace! We are told to "Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of the Lord, and be more ready to hear" than to offer the "sacrifice of "FOOLS", for they consider not that they do evil. (ignorance) The words of a "wise man's mouth (one who has been delivered from ignorance) are gracious, but the lips of a "fool" will swallow him up. a "fool's" mouth is full of words, and they talk themselves into consistent drama and trouble, which is like fertilizer to them. There's no shame in having been "ignorant',or being guilty of doing things in ignorance, and it's not that shameful to have to attend "Former Fools Anonymus", for those still recovering, but to be guilty of " blatantly, and purposefully rebelling against, and not "knowing" God,and the ways of God, in this day of ridiculously abunbdant churches, worship centers, and tabernacles, and the proliferation of the information highway, on every thing from "Hebrew for dummies", to the "transfiguration", is inexcusable. Ignorance, can be considered to be a choice, and only those with a predisposition to surrendering to the genetically engineered call to not shun hell, in order to gain heaven, and eternal life, will choose "ignorance" for which no further offering of unblemished he goats or she goats will provide an atonement, and only a Knowledge of and embracing of God, and a knowledge and acceptance of salvation, will bring them up out of the cess pool of "deceitful knowledge", also known as "ignorance!
