I have heard so many people make the statement including myself " I'm keeping my head down and getting the job done" in an effort to leave their mark in 2010 and to have a big finish as they head into unknown and uncharted waters in 2011.

It hit me today as I went through a very hectic week in a mad dash to finish strong this race that has been set before me..."Why am I keeping my head down?" I certainly can't get very far by looking at the ground...right? Yet we make this statement as if the very act of saying these words will allow us to gain the energy, strength and endurance to get the 20 million things left to do done before the end of the year.

As you know your words have power. Yes, we know the bible says that life and death is in the power of the tongue...yet we say words, innocently enough that aid in impeding our progress.

The statement of "I am keeping my head down" has no biblical frame of reference that I know of, in fact it contradicts the Word of God.

In Psalm 121 AMP it states:

1[a]I WILL lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]--From whence shall my help come?(A)

2My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

3He will not allow your foot to slip or to be moved; He Who keeps you will not slumber.(B)

4Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand [the side not carrying a shield].(C)

6The sun shall not smite you by day, nor the moon by night.(D)

7The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.

8The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.(E)

While you are lying in bed tonight thinking of the million or so odd things that you have not done yet...I want dare you to "Look Up!"

Father and our God I decree and declare that the worry and the press to get the job done while keeping our heads down is eradicated from our minds and our mouths as we press toward the mark of the high calling.

I decree and declare that the enemy will no longer bend our backs under the pressure and the weight and worry for what we have not accomplished this day, but instead father as we lay down this night, we say "Thank you Lord" and we look to you to give us the power to succeed and excel in all that we endeavor to do. In Jesus Name, Amen

As it was in Genesis when God looked out on you and all that He had created at the end of each day He said "It is Good." If you are good enough for God, the one who made you to be a little lower than the Angels then why are you "keeping your head down?"

Look Up! Your help comes from the one true and living God above.

God's peace,

Prophetess Gwen
