Which Ones Are You?

"ENLARGE the place of thy tent, and let them STRETCH FORTH the curtains of thine habitations: SPARE NOT, LENGTHEN thy cords, and STRENGTHEN thy stakes".

Isaiah 54:2 KJV (Capitals are mine for emphasis)

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE

There are three kinds of people in the world today. The ones who wonder when something is going to happen, those who make things happen, and those who wonder what happened.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A THERMOMETER AND A THERMOSTAT

We have a choice. We can either be like a thermometer or a thermostat. A thermometer records the temperature, whereas a thermostat is set at a certain temperature. When it gets too cold, the heat kicks in, and brings the temperature up to where it is supposed to be. If it becomes too hot, the air conditioning comes on, and brings it down to the desired degrees indicated wherever the gauge has been set.

ONE RECORDS WHAT IS HAPPENING, WHILE THE OTHER MAKES SOMETHING HAPPEN ON A HIGHER DIMENSION

Thermometer Christians only reflect the spiritual temperature which currently exists. Thermostat believers know how to lift "the spiritual heat", and do not allow it to go below a certain level. One records what is happening, while the other makes something happen on a higher dimension, and does not let up until it is realized. These are "world changers" and "nation shakers".

ONE TAKES IN AND GIVES OUT, WHILE THE OTHER ONE ONLY TAKES IN

What is the difference between the Jordan River and the Dead Sea in Israel? The Jordan not only has an inlet, but also an outlet. Live fish can be found in its waters. The Dead Sea has no outlet, thus sea creatures cannot survive in it. It is, as the name implies, "dead". Dead Sea Christians are always taking in, but never giving out. They are "self-contained", thus they produce no new life. Jordan River believers receive from the Lord, but it does not stop there. They also give out to others, thus, they are alive, and have a continuous flow of the blessing.

"GO THE SECOND MILE", AND EXPLORE UNCHARTED TERRITORY

By being "thermostat" and "Jordan River" Christians, we have aligned ourselves for "enlargement". No small thinking for us. Our mind set is not to "just get by", but to "go the second mile", and to explore uncharted territory. This will require "stretching" our faith, to do things we have never done before. "Lengthening" our outreach will give us a vision to reach people with needs to whom we have not previously ministered. Indeed, this kind of approach to our faith will "strengthen" us to be able to stand alone when necessary, and not compromise our vision.

Wonderful analogies here. God wants us to shake this earth up and stir up the gift that is within us. Not to be just ,money changers and bench warmers. Faith, hope, love are all action words. Let's get on board.
Great thoughts! God Bless! Pastor Teloria Williams-Holy Ghost Powerhouse
