With the vast multitude of challenging situations and unpredictable turn of events, the average person has to contend with, we are witnessing a great "splintering" effect of God's people as they dissociate , to try to "get it in", and to be "all things" to all people. Never before, has there been such an intense manifestaion of mental disturbances, depression, dysfunctionalism, bi-polarism,and schizophrenia. In this present world of multitasking, multiple relationships, multiple births, and general "multiplicity", it can be difficult for one to maintain a helalthy, productive integration of their mind, soul, and body. One's day to day activities may run the gamut from arising at pre-dawn to meet the Lord in fellowship and to "command their day", followed by rousing the kids and the spouse to prepare for their respective jobs, or school day, followed by breakfast, lunch preparation, and , perhaps, some car-pooling. By the time one has cleared all of these hurdles, it's time to do the cleaning, shopping, pay the bills, do the "class Mom/Dad" thing, pick up the kids, go over homework, listen to everyone's "dissertation" on what went wrong with their day, and prepare a healthy, wholesome "I love you" meal, preferably from all four food groups. During the week, there are other activities, girl scout/cub scout meetings, book club brunches, Bible Study, praise team rehearsal, hair appointments, visiting the shut in, looking in on Mother, and tending to, or ministering to one's spouse. After tucking the household in for the night, there has to be time made to go and minister to the Lord, to commune with and fellowship with Him, and to reclaim or rescue one's sanity, temperamnet, and the peace that surpasseth al understanding. We haven't scratched the surface of the ministry related obligations, responsibilities, and requests, and by the end of the week, if not by noon day "Wednesday", many are at the point of maximum over-drive, and in danger of shutting down,or imploding. David, was a man who understood the principles and manifestations of "multi", in that he had to oversee a huge army, as well as rule as king over a nation, while trying to cover his tracks as a murderer, and "service" all the ladies in his life! David had the issue of several wives, and multiple concubines on his"plate", or in his bed, and he had to deal with kids who were as diverse as the "Rainbow coalition" in their makeup, disposition, character, and behaviour. Early on, he had the ardous task of serving King Saul, while still trying to honor, love, and respect, and while trying to stay alive, this same man who had been his mentor, and his spiritual father, of sorts. He had to slay his "dragons" while trying to submissvely, and humbly serve this man, while hiding out in caves with other rejects and misfits, and beng forced to act like a raving lunatic, for self preservation.

There came a time in David's story, around chapter 27, when David began to "get it",and this is where his real deliverance began. It was here that he gained the wisdom "What profiteth a man to gain the whole world, and to lose his very soul?" It was during the heat of these tribulatons that birthed in him, a new and greater depth of understanding of who this God of Israel really was. Here , he declared "The Lord is my Light and my Salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life,of whom shall I be afraid? When my enemies and my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." As these truths began to gel in his mind, and penetrate his spirit, something began to quicken in him,and he began to genuinely "focus",on those things that are eternal, for the first time in years. David recognized that he had great multiplicities of everything that he desired, and wanted, but these things started to converge and consolidate, as he meditated on the "Light of the World", and his "Shield", and his "Buckler",the Lord, the "Lifter" of his head! As he quieted himself, and cleared his mind and commanded his thoughts to focus on the central point of God, and God alone, he came closer to the revelation of an absolute and a sustaining truth. .His meditations, or cogitations brought him to this conclusion "Though an host should encamp against me , my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in "THIS" (being "singular, evidencing that he had covered great ground concerning his former life of being "splintered and fragmented) will I be confident. ONE THING have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in thee house of the Lord, all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple. Here, David had really brought his mind in, and effectively forgot about himself, to concetrate on Him, and He was being delivered so that he might "shabach" Him, and assume an attitude of "maranatha" worship, and service to Him. For everyone of us, a time must come when we embrace a "single-eyed" vision for the things of God,and for God, Himself, and we must set our faces "like a flint", veering nor looking " to the left", nor to the "right"! At some point Christ has to become the "be all", "Alpha" , and the "end all, "Omega" ! When we can be trusted with a single mindedness of heart towards the coming of God's kingdom, on earth EVEN ( in perfect balance and alignment) as it is in heaven, then our hearts will be truly fixed, and our minds made up, and we will be fit to have a charge to keep, having a God to glorify. There's a reason that the mind-binding demons of frustration, being overwhelmed, and oppressed, confused and dismayed are "multi-tasking " in Christ's Church, that being, whenever the devil is effectively "multi-tasking", the saints are not of a this "ONE THING" persuasion and mindset. When we as believers master and perfect the principles of "this ONE THING"., we shall be a formidable foe that the enemy will dread having to contend with. In the realm of being a dedicated and committed worshipper, the spirit of "multi' has no place, because we have a covenant to have no other gods, besides Him, or along "with" HIm, be it the spouse we're persuaded we can't live without, or the job we have been deceived into believing is our source of survival! When we are deeply persuaded, down in the depths of our souls, in the doctrinal truth of ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, and ONE BAPTISM, and when we're able to cut off all hinderances, and unneccessary multiplicities of diversion, and distraction, when we are able to consolidate and focus on the Only Wise GOd, when we are able to no longer objectify things in our lives that are corruptible and temporal, we are that much closer to embracing the absolute power of Oneness! Once we're able to inform others who once served as major sources of distraction, and undesirable influence, that there's a new "Sheriff" in town, and it is in Him that you live, and move, and have our being, and when we condition ourselves to exalt him above all that's relevant or of value in our lives, when we purposefully realign our lives and give God top priority as the "THIS ONE THING", we will be able to take our power back from our adversary, restore our souls, lay dow in green pastures, and watch God prepare a table before us, in the presence of our enemies! Every one of us has been blessed with a particular "ONE THING" to render unto the Lord, in perfection, humilty, and having yielded an increase . As we release ourselves from the weight and oppression of 'multiplicities" and the fragmetation, and we gravitate to our pre-destined :nucleus of single-mindedness, the ONE THING blessing and offering assigned to our lives shall become a perpetual blessing and a wellspring of life to someone who;'s still bound , and in need of apprehending "THIS ONE THING" I do!
