TONGUE FASTING

We should as believers of the Gospel ,,at times should go on a TONGUE FAST..because what comes out of some people mouths are damaging to themselves and others..when we think that we should say something thats the more that we should shut up

James 3:1-12
(1) Preachers, because they can cause tremendous damage (v1-5)

(2) Our speech, because of the great harm it will do (v5b-8) more than that

(3) Our hearts, because we are not who we should be. (v9-12

That kind of stuff weakens the church. Poor leadership weakens the youth group or the Bible study. Vicars and other leaders have to wake up to the harm they can do with a life that doesn’t match the teaching, or with teaching that is off beam
We frequently encounter Christian fantasy especially in the Full-Gospel Movement.

Truth - Deut. 32:4, A God of truth. He is the God of Truth. If you are of God, then truth will flow thru your mouth. Some are not true worshipers but are hypocrites that are putting on a religious show that stinks in God's nostrils.

Lies - Num. 23:19, God is not a man that He should lie. God doesn't lie but man does. There are a lot of pat phrases in the Christian world that are not true when put to the test. As Earline says, you burn while you learn. It is a soulish prophesy that frequently ends with thus saith the Lord. If you say your soulish prophesy is from God, then you are lying about God.

Christian Fables And Cliches - There are many fables and cliches (tradition) that are passed off as the Gospel. Generally, these are sayings that make you fell good.

Deliverance Myths - There is much ignorance and many myths about deliverance. Deliverance is the most misunderstood part of the Christian life. Deliverance is the most controversial and unpopular part of the Christian life.

Prophecy Myths - Prophecies can be a blessing or a curse. The most danger for abuse lies in personal prophecy. Charismatic witches use personal prophecy to control others.

The true prophet does not make any mistakes. All of his prophecies come true. In the Old Testament, if the prophet missed God, he was stoned (Deut. 13:1-5, 18:20). I wonder what would happen if we killed the false prophets today
Spoken Curses

There are two ways that we can curse another person: thought or speaking. We can pray a psychic prayer or we can speak against another person either in our thoughts or out loud. We need to be careful what we think and speak, as well as what we do. The words we think or speak go out into the air and they have power to do good or evil.

GOD CREATED HEAVEN AND EARTH WITH WHAT CAME FROM HIS MOUTH..WHAT ARE WE CREATING WITH OURS??

Only three things can control a man's tongue,
A. The grace of God.
B. Cutting the tongue from a man's mouth.
C. Death.

People are running people from the church with words stimming from jealousy

This is do true and it has been going on so long fr the pulpit to the pews,,what gets me is when they say God said and nothing happens ,,When God say it suppose to grow and prosper ,people are Trainned to not research ,,if God can talk to the Preacher,,then he can talk to the pews as well..now I understand order in the church as well as leadership but I feel that if your walking upright then god will speak to that vessel

My motto now is whatever comes out of my mouth,how is God getting any glory out of it??
Say that to say everything that the Father in Heaven spoke came to pass even the creation of us,we were spoken into existance we were on his mind,He had a plan for our live he knew our short commings and when the devil went before the Father to give his report on us the Father knew that we would return to him..if you can talk yourself into making mistakes ,then with help from the Father we can talk ourselves out of satans radar. The tongue truly does have power. I believe in the bible it say something about what you speak will come to pass. I think that is why we are taught by the word to speak to our situation call it out declare the word of God so truly Eric you are so right about that. The problem is People lack self control which is one of the fruits of the spirit and if you use your tongue to speak evil sure enough it will happen because with the tongue cursing and blessing can come from it. If we lack self control over our tongue then truly we should say no thing at all.

It is one of the snares of the enemy,even in Church I find peoples mumbling while the message is being preached and taught,this is am serious issue,,if you really think about it the tongue has a lot of power if it is used the right way..I know what your doing is humbling yourself to be a vessel of power and a treasure from the Lord,this is what tongue fasting brings on

bless you man of GOD, i am hearing more &more study to be quiet ,i have my daily time of study to be quiet before HIM,my time of just adoring HIM,then the other "stuff"you know,warfare,praying,witnessing, visiting& laying hands on the sick ,giving words of wisdom etc,.....you know the other "stuff" (smile) there is much knowledge to be had in the silencing of our tongues.

I had a situation one sunday where a woman[single parent] entered the church for more than membership but to seek a church home..well she has five children ,,she gave her testamony on how she was on drugs and the kids was left by themselves ,,you know the rest,,she went further on how and what she done for CRACK,,she said that she was on her knee five to ten times a day and it was not for prayer...WELL..the Church gossipers were there and we know what happened next,,they raked her over hot coal and talked about her kids so much that she left..maybe it is me but how can anyone in CHRIST call the kettle black when they use to be or still is on the stove themselves and some the handle on the kettle

This is why tongue Fasting is needed,,we are quick to master flesh fasting but the tongue is hidden and small but can start a war,,break up a Church,break up a marriage etc.because of lack of teaching as well was another plan of the devil
I had to really take some time off to tongue fast as well,I learned that there is strength in silence..God/Yahweh has taught me that the more you want to open your mouth is the more we should be quiet..depending on the situation
