Warring In the Spirit...getting Victory over the flesh! Part 2
Part 2
I ended part one with some thoughts, providing some mind boggling understanding of flesh and spirit. Part 2 is my concern about Spiritual Warfare and why we are losing. Why the “church” is being defeated on every hand, and the enemy is laughing because we are ignorant.
Last summer I attended a church here in Rochester NY, because I was asked to bring for the word of God. From this experience I learned a few things…one is that the word of God is a revealer of hidden issues, it can bring out the best, or the worst in someone, because the word of God is living and sharper than any two edged sword….it judges the thoughts and the attitudes of the heart (Hebrew 4:12).
In that service something came over me, something like spiritual authority. I felt power enter into me like never before, and I began to preach harder. Scriptures came out of me that were hidden, I didn’t even know was still there. All of this was to prepare me for what was going to happen at the end of the service. Led of God I called up the prayer line, and the prophetic over took me, and I was seeing in the spirit, and releasing what I saw. The church organist came up. God showed me his story, his past, couldn’t see his future, but to get there forgiveness was needed. At some point things shifted, and a godly fear came over me, and out of mouth I identified a demon by the name of “Legions.” This demon manifested and asked “what do you want with him?” Too scared to the Spirit of God, I began to speak in tongues which had no affect!!! The demon didn’t flinch, he didn’t flutter and walked towards me as to attack me. It was then I learned that spiritual language known as tongues has no power against the enemy…he has not afraid of our “shamas….ebobo.” Then the word sprung out of me…and the demon began to run around the church, trying to find away out. Once he got to the door, something shot him back down the aisle. Eventually the demon released him with vomiting and shouts. My thoughts are that all of them are not gone, and that was just one.
Recently went to a bible study of a well known church here in Rochester N.Y. The worship leader mounted the podium, and instructed the church to go into spiritual warfare… and the first thing everyone did was speak in tongues. The worship leader screamed tongues…and everyone went on an emotional frenzy. There was crying, and dancing, people falling out and my heart was troubled. They weren’t warring the spirit. They were emotional.
The bible says this “for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, for the pulling down of strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every though into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:4-5)” Speaking in tongues may be a way to build us as individuals, but it is not a weapon in warfare. Even in Ephesians it gives us how to gird up and the one weapon it gives us is the sword of the spirit which is THE WORD OF GOD!! To be continued!!
