Wealth : ( Fleshly, Soulish or Spiritual) Is the pusuit of wealth evil?

I definitely would love your opinion on the folowing...

Interesting... This morning I sent out an invite to tonight's discussion of the book, Becoming A Millionaire God's Way by Dr. C. Thomas Anderson. I received a response from,I'm sure a sincere brother in the Lord, implying that the pursuit of wealth was of the soul and fleshly. At first, I just shook my head then I have taken some time as to how to respond to this.

It is interesting the many thoughts about wealth in the body of Christ...there is so much fear and confusion about wealth. Should there be so much fear and confusion? My personal opinion, no!, however there is.

There has been so much abuse of money (wealth) by Christians that many people do not know what to believe. I'm not writing this blog to come against that particular brother, because I love him in the Lord but I will take this moment to teach and to give those who read this food for thought.

1. We must first understand the heart, the desires, callings, giftings and purposes of God and His KIngdom and His creation, but also that He speaks to individuals and gives individual assignments. Now many may have similar assignments but each person has a different style of completing and walking in his or her assignment. Being that we are triune, (spirit, soul and body) God intends that each part of man's needs is met. This will require that God has people who walk in WEALTH so that food can be bought, ministry supported, families healed, and so much more beyond this.

2. This is MOST IMPORTANT! We should never ever put our goals, substance, money, or any created thing ( physical or spiritual) above God. I think that some people believe that if you pursue wealth that somehow you have put God on the back burner...that is not always true, plus to assume or to suggest that someone has placed God in a secondary role behind money would mean that the accuser has inside information(revelation from God) or is just religous in his or her thinking concerning that matter. LET US NOT PRESUME THAT WE KNOW THE INTENT OF A PERSONS HEART BECAUSE THEY MAY BE CALLED TO PURSUE A PATH (ordained by God for them) THAT ISN'T CONSISTENT WITH OUR PARTICULAR THOUGHT, CULTURE, HISTORY OR BELIEF. I suggest that anytime a person is quick to assume that we must first go to God and get the mind of God... Proverbs 3:1 - 8

3.I am very astute in the matters of business, study of the bible and am a man of much prayer. One thing I do know that God is raising up men and women ordained by Him to pursue wealth as led by Him. They will pursue wealth primarily through kingdom business and strategies. Why would God say that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous if He did not and does not intend for His children to walk in wealth to His glory? Why would God make Joseph, Abraham and many others wealthy in the bible if He did not intend for His children to be wealthy? Why would God send wealthy men to bless Jesus at His birth if He did not intend for us to be wealthy? Why would God release Israel from Egyptian bondage and allow them to leave wealthy? God has a purpose in mind. God is in this season beginning to sit down those who have misused His wealth and is beginning to set up those who will use wealth for Kingdom purposes.

One of the reasons that I think so many people are in poverty in the body of Christ is that people don't believe that Christians should be wealthy ( John 10:10) and that many do not know how things work. We must becoem students of the world system and the kingdom system. But God has called us to walk in the earth using Kingdom systems, principles and ideas.

4. 3 John2 says, beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as they soul prospers... God intends for the who;e man to prosper Kibgdom STyle and that includes wealth...

5.Before we assume to know a persons intent, motives and hearts desires...

a. Pray and get the mind of God
b. Talk to the person and get to know something about them
c. Look at the condition of your heart =(asking God to show you, you.
d. Be humble..2nd Chronicles 7:14

6. Lastly, Lets remember that God has called His children to many different arenas so that He can show Himself mighty and so that we can learn how many different things/systems work.

We are the body of Christ called to grow and mature with one another, not become disgruntled, bitter and agree when we have misunderstandings..How cam 2 walk together except they agree?

oh my sweetie... we can't have that kind of reference in front of the Brethren. Christians ain't suppose to be amourous in public even when married like us honey. Public displays of affection will make some uncomfortable... they'll say we are like animals!!

We will have the wealthy with us as well as the poor... and I mean in the kingdom of God. Those who do not have the wealth should not envy those who do. Why? becuase the wealthy have a different responsibility and accountability.

It is like a person who is a preaches being envious of one who gives prophecies. If you sit back and watch those who are against wealth.. it is not those who are wealthy but those who are poor and are envious of those with wealth.

Yes we have people who abuse their wealth.. many do... but we also have many who do not abuse it. Instead they are gracious givers. And God can trust them to allow wealth to flow from them. Those who are envious of persons with wealth would most likely horde the money if they had it and not be givers.

So be careful how loudly you bash those who have what you don't have... you may be showing others what it really in your heart.

Amen! I have read each previous comment. I think that we all are in agreement that there is nothing wrong with prospering or becoming wealthy as long as God remains first in our hearts and that money is a tool used to bless the Kingdom and Kingdom work. Amen!!!!

I believe that in all that we persue, must be done lawfully. Therefore making it line up with the word of God (II Tim. 2:5). God has set wealth in the Kingdom for Kingdom building. The (love) of money is the root of all evil. To avoid the corruption that much wealth can bring to one, one must be wealthy in his or her heart. I think that the heart, mind, and intent must combine with wealth with the sole purpose of prospering the Kingdom. Prosper, be in health, soul prosper, (III John 2).
