2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory…” You can’t look at God and not end up looking like God. Those who look at God will look like God, those who look at men will look like men. When you look at men you end up as a dwarf, but when you look at God you grow up into a giant.

What you see defines your future. What you see limits your destiny. Saul and the other great soldiers in the army of Israel were as dwarfs before Goliath because they never saw God. But David had seen God so he was able to bring down the head of the giant. He saw the invincible and he was able to do the impossible. When Saul said to him, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight him.” David said, “The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine…” (1 Sam 17:37). In other words, “There is somebody I have seen who is able break the head of this Goliath.” He saw God, so while others were moving backwards and hiding in holes, he was moving forward. He ran towards Goliath and the impossible mountain was cast down.

After Moses met with God at the burning bush, he went back to face Pharaoh and with just a rod in his hand, he brought out over 3 million people that had been in bondage for more than four hundred years.

The Bible says, “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (Gen 5:24). By virtue of beholding the face of God he had imbibed the nature of God so much that God felt he was no longer fit for the earth. The natural had given way to the supernatural; divinity took over the human in the process of beholding the face of the Lord. As you behold God’s face, you get to a realm where you transcend the realm of humans. Let’s go for His face, God’s face imparts upon us the nature of God; His nature will reflect in your spirit man and your mental faculty, your physical strength will be renewed as well as the fire of His presence burns off every weakness around us, let’s go for His face.

“…Beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory…” The exercise of beholding the Lord is meant to be a continuous one and not once in a while. The longer we behold Him the more we are changed from glory to glory. David said, “When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek” (Ps 27:8). May you be able to say that to God. May your soul keep panting and longing for Him. I’d like you to say this prayer: “Lord, do not turn your face from me, keep me beholding you always”. It shall be so for you today and always in the precious name of Jesus christ!
