“What’s In Your Wallet?”

This is a line from the Capitol One commercials and it has bugged my heart since I first saw it. Though I didn’t understand at the time, God knew what He was doing and His Spirit is about to speak. From its inception, it has presented the idea that warriors, mighty men of valor, even God’s warriors would have their visions replaced by their cash flow and their credit scores. The faith of our fathers would soon be replaced by the feign of the followers. FEIGN, 1. To invent or imagine; to form an idea or conception of something not real. 2. To make a show of; to pretend; to assume a false appearance; to counterfeit.
She feigns a laugh.
3. To represent falsely; to pretend; to form and relate a fictitious tale. 4. To dissemble; to conceal.
According to these commercials; but presented as a fact of life in modern day society, we have laid down our weapons of war, looking for the good life, via our credit cards. Think about it, try to remember each commercial segment and see for yourselves how man has fallen prey to the idols and ideals of the prince of the air. The worth of your name is destroyed, the handshake of surety is abated, and the word of your mouth is nothing more than wasted breath (hot air). Men are born warriors; if you remove the fire of their soul, men, slowly but surely, die! Women are born the base of love and compassion, majorly, ready to serve and stand with their warriors, with their warriors dead or dying, what happens to the heart and soul of the women? For now, we won’t get into the answer for this question, but remember, God always comes back to address anything out of God’s order.
We, as a people, have forgotten the true meaning of worship; WORSHIP; In this sense, the word is nearly or quite obsolete; but hence
1. Excellence of character; dignity; worth; worthiness. A term of ironical respect. Chiefly and eminently, the act of paying divine honors to the Supreme Being; or the reverence and homage paid to him in religious exercises, consisting in adoration, confession, prayer, thanksgiving and the like. Honor; respect; civil deference. adore; to pay divine honors to; to reverence with supreme respect and veneration. To respect; to honor; to treat with civil reverence To honor with extravagant love and extreme submission; as a lover. With bended knees I daily worship To perform acts of adoration.

WORSHIP,

The homage paid to idols or false gods by pagans; as the worship or Isis.

Idolatry of lovers; obsequious or submissive respect.

Worship is a matter of showing your trust and love in all things, including your money; Exo 23:15 Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty
Deu 16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:
Worship from the heart isn’t about singing a few songs and trying to keep your attendance records up. Worship in its truest form is about pure love and in honor, giving the very best of who you are and what you have. Exo 23:19 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
Exo 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
Exo 23:21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.
God asked the people of the nation of Israel to honor Him by giving Him their firstborn sons, not for slaughter as were the first born of the animals. These first born sons meant the carriage of the lineage, but it also meant God’s favor over the woman womb, in other words; a gift from God. People at one point, used to consider their first born sons as the investment in their name being carried on in the future. This would be part of the Abraham covenant with God for the seed of the future, to be ensured. Their name, through their seed, would go down in the annals of history as a means of carrying on for their name, the blessing of Abraham. Like Israel, we have forgotten to teach proper values to our children, based solely on God’s Word and like Israel, we have fallen prey to the ways of this world and the prince of the air, satan. Have you made an unholy covenant with the enemies of God? Exo 23:32 Thou shalt make no brit (covenant) with them, nor with their elohim. Let’s examine this question; Joshua said, choose this day whom you will serve, he made his choice and made it very clear to others, serve God. To serve; means to get up off your overeducated and do something for God that He said in His Word to do, see the need, meet the need! God never said, wait on your calling to come up, He did however say, tend to His garden without the fear of getting your hands dirty. This is a measure of worship unto the Lord, if all you can do is sit there, then this is fruit that shows who the Lord of your life is. This shows God, that your heart is not His throne room, but you alone sit on the throne, unwilling to give place to God! Choose this day whom you will serve!
Daily, we see churches and their appointed Pastors, falling to the wayside, because the financial needs of the church and the shepherds, are not being met. The patrons of the church have money, but are unwilling to share what they have. Deu 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
Deu 14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
Basically, this means; the interest you earn off your bank accounts, you are supposed to tithe on. You’re supposed to tithe off your tax returns, even though you tithed off your gross in your paycheck. If someone gives you something, you tithe off the value of it. If someone gives you money, above your seed, you tithe from it. INCRE'ASE, 1. To become greater in bulk or quantity; to grow; to augment; as plants. Hence, to become more in number; to advance in value, or in any quality good or bad. Animal and vegetable bodies increase by natural growth; wealth increases by industry; heat increases, as the sun advances towards the meridian; a multitude increases by accession of numbers; knowledge increases with age and study; passion and enmity increase by irritation, and misery increases with vice. To become more bright or vivid; as, the light increases. To swell; to rise. To swell; to become louder, as sound. To become of more esteem and authority. To augment or make greater in bulk, quantity or amount; as, to increase wealth or treasure; to increase a sum or value.

He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3.

1. Increment; profit; interest; that which is added to the original stock.

Take thou no interest of him or increase; but fear thy God. Lev 25.

2. Produce, as of land. 3. Progeny; issue; offspring. 4. Generation.

In other words, an increase is anything in your hands and or possession, that wasn’t there before, God’s provision. If you truly have a heart of worship, you will gladly give of yourself and your substance, to further the work of the Kingdom of God. This means, get up off your over educated and start doing something for the Lord in support of the vision of God for your Pastor and your church, and give, financially. For those of you who say you trust the Lord and are hanging on to sums of money for the rainy day, you’re deceived! If you really trust the Lord as you say, then you would know that God promised, if He takes care of the lily’s, then He will take even better care of you! If you don’t stop leaning to your own understanding and start giving ALL of your first fruits to the Lord, then consider this prophetic word as your curse. Luk 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luk 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
Luk 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
Luk 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
Luk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
Luk 12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Luk 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Luk 12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
Luk 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Soul; H5315
Original Word: nepesh; "soul; self; life; person; heart."
refers to the essence of life, the act of breathing, taking breath. The Hebrew word nepesh, translated as “soul,” carries tremendous theological and philosophical importance. Although “soul” can be used to mean the living essence which animates all living creatures. This subsequently boils down to one thing, is the essence, driving force of your being, God or mammon?

Having said all this, I return to the original question; what’s in your wallet?

What will you do with it now?
