Womens' Mentoring Teleconference - Take A Moment to Reflect
Women of God,
I am grateful for each of you who participated in our womens' mentoring session on last night!
Typically, when we hold a session, I usually immediately begin to receive e-mails from women who sometimes sit quietly on the line and listen and are being helped by the information being shared. Last night was no different and I have received several e-mails from women who participated during the session and received vital information that assisted them in moving forward. At one point, we did have 96 women participating (whether speaking or just listening) on the session last night. To God be the glory!
However, as the call progressed on last night, I listened closely (to God and to those participating) as we were present on the line. From that, I do feel that it will be necessary for us to adjust the format of our next session.
While we do want everyone to be able to have input, we MUST NOT forgot the reason that we gather for these sessions which is to address the issues that hurting women are dealing with. People of God, women are indeed coming to the line wounded and seeking guidance. Therefore, we MUST BE sensitive to there needs. This can only be done if we are able to posture ourselves to LISTEN attentively moreso than talk.
It is written, "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man to be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." (Jam. 1:19-20 KJV).
I read a book some years ago titled "Spiritual Leadership" by J. Oswald Sanders and he made the following profound statement...."Leaders who want to show sensitivity should LISTEN OFTEN AND LONG and TALK SHORT AND SELDOM. Many so-called leaders are too busy to listen. True leaders know that time spent listening is well invested." (by J. Oswald Sanders)
God has commissioned me to call & facilitate these sessions and therefore, I am being held (by God) to the highest standard of accountability concerning each session. Many of your heard me express that on last night. Our womens' mentoring sessions are not and WILL NOT be sessions that are out of order or out of the will of God. God IS INDEED a God of decency and order. My assignment from God concerning these sessions is to continue to guard & maintain the character and integrity of the call but most importantly to guard the hearts of the women who call in hurting to avoid any additional hurt! Again, this call IS NOT an open platform for preaching, ministry promotions, self promotion or anything of the sort. But God intended it to be a place of refuge for women of God all over the world to come and discuss issues that they may be struggling with. THAT, my sisters, is what the sessions are all about.
I do realize that these sessions may not be for every women and I do fully understand and respect that. That is truly okay. We still say THANK YOU for the times that you did participate and to God be the glory!
But for those who do know that the sessions continue to be of help to you, WE DO WELCOME YOU to continue to join us and invite others!
Women of God, let us not forget our purpose for the sessions and let us TRULY remember that women are dialing in to these lines wounded and seeking GODLY & SCRIPTURAL counseling and THAT is what we will provide so that our Father in Heaven may be glorified.
I will be sending out additional information on our next session shortly which will be a continuation of the discussion last night. I pray that those of you who were on last night will consider dialing in for the next session! This is not about me individually or my ministry. But this is about accomplishing what God wants us to accomplish corporately as women.
