YOU AREN'T HOPELESS

Of course, the devil wants us to feel stuck in our situation and convince us that it is hopeless. He wants us to have those little thoughts in the back of our mind that say, "You aren't never going to be any different. It isn't ever going to change. You'll never change. Your marriage will never change. Your financial situation will never change." That is what the devil says.
Regardless of what we know, he will say "You'll be dumb all your life. You're never going to get your act together. Everyone in the room but you is getting touched by God. You're the only one God isn't doing anything for." Do we know that these thoughts are really attacks from the devil? But remember, the devil is a liar (John 8:44), so every thought he gives us will be a lie.
We need to learn what God says about us in His Word so that we will recognize any thought not in line with what God says as coming from the devil. If we are very smart at all, we aren't going to believe it. Things don't have to get as complicated as we sometimes make them.
We can change suddenly! Our situation can change suddenly! And that is great news. We want to get up every day with the expectancy, "God may do something suddenly today!" Things can and do change suddenly.
