Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

I am new to the network and I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Terry Vodery and I am the CEO of Matanah Consulting, a major gift fundraising firm for churches. I'd like to share some information about myself and what we do:

I have been a professional fundraiser for over ten years. I have raised over $15 million for various types of organizations – from health and human service organizations to institutes of higher learning and the church. I know what works and what doesn’t work.

In my 10+ years as a fundraiser, I have gained experience and a wealth of knowledge needed to effectively navigate the journey through a world of feasibility studies, board relationships, grant proposals, major gift solicitation, and direct mail appeals.

I have been a fully ordained minister for over 20 years. I’ve served as an associate minister in city and suburban churches, and as the pastor of a country church. Believe me. I’ve seen and experienced, firsthand, the financial struggles churches go through in order to fulfill their call to mission and ministry.

I recently left my position as Development Director for a major fundraising organization (despite being offered a significant raise) after deciding it was time for me to share what I have learned over the years for the cause that means the most to me – the cause of changing the world. Now I raise money for the right causes and for the right people. I love the Church too much to passively watch great ministries falter because of a lack of resources.

Matanah Consulting, LLC was birthed as the result of my experience as a fundraiser and as a minister. Through Matanah Consulting, I offer a service that allows churches to explore different avenues to achieve their fundraising goals without significant risk.
