Here's wishing you all the blessings of Heaven as we reflect today on the crucifixion, remembering the suffering of Jesus simply because He loved us so very, very much. Remember the despair of tomorrow, knowing that He was dead and buried. "Were you there when they crucified my Lord?" "Were you there when they nailed Him to the cross?" "Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?"
Wonder of wonders, on resurrection Sunday morning, He had disappeared from the tomb. The cloths with He was wrapped were laying on the place where His body had been, the piece of linen which covered His face carefully folded and lying there, apart from the other cloths. In despair, "They have taken my Lord, and I don't know where they put Him." But then...two angels appeared, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, He is risen."
"Quickly now, go tell my disciples that Jesus Christ is no longer dead." That's the news we were commissioned to tell. Have you told anyone lately? Have you shared the good news of the gospel? Without the resurrection, Christmas would just be the birthday of another little Jewish boy.
If you have never experienced the new life that comes from Christ, ask someone now. Don't waste another moment, we never know how many moments we have left. Every minute we delay, people are dying and going to hell; some by choice but many from ignorance. We can't do anything about their choices other than pray for them to change, but we can wipe out the ignorance by telling. "Praise our God, from whom all blessings flow, to all us creatures here below."
