Children's Ministry in the Black Church

I believe my call in the Body of Christ is to minister to children. I guess you could call me a Pastoral Pediatrician. One of my strongest concerns is the lack of attention given to this area of ministry in the African American Church. Can someone help me understand why it appears that in the African American church we invest so little in our children's spiritual development?

I am the "church" that invests in my children's spiritual development, their...FATHER! My son as well as my daughter are seated right next to their mother and father to listen and to hear what "thus sayeth, the Lord" has to say to all of us as a family as we worship and hear the Word of God together.
