Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

Min Jenine that was a very good response!
It is clear that Yahweh has a dress code for his people in his house and it was most evident with the Levitical priesthood. We most discover the purpose behind the dress code and not focus on the acutal garment in order to rightly divide the Word.
There is no sin in what you do are do not wear. The sin is in disobedience. If you attend a church with a very clear dress code, anything against that dress code is disobedience and that is where sin dwells. Most dress codes were set in the holiness church to prevent fornication and sexual lust between the saints. It is a known fact that when men and women wear pants certain parts of the anatomy can be pushed out or up depending on the the type. Because Holiness churches tend to do more dancing, it is clear why certain restrictions on the dress code where made. I don't know about you, but if I were a sinner sitting in the back and I saw a bunch of thighs and breast, moving in and out and up and down, I think I would be pretty distracted from focusing on getting saved! Women that where dress/skirts tend to hide "some" of that. And men being properly dressed with suit jackets tend to stop a lot of that with women (and men) as well. We can't help it, holiness folk like to run and dance and sometiems we don't think about our physical body while praising Yahweh in the spirit. But I remember Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the mand that walketh not in the counself of the ungodly nor sitteth in the sit of the scornful NOR STANDETH IN THE WAY OF THE SINNER"........
My goodness that was well said and put!
Women ministers are apart of the plan, remember Mary was the first one to go spread the Gospel when Yashuah told her at the tomb to go and tell that he had risen.

But women pastors, that is a different story. It doesn't follow the order that Yahweh set even from the beginning of time. The scripture says in the new testament "Christ is the head of man, and man is the head of woman." So if a woman is in the position of being the "head" then she is bypassing "man" which has been ordained to be next in line after Christ.

That said, that doesn't minimize the awesome responsibility of women in the church, but rather it certifies their qualities to attend to the other important aspects which fall under leadership which is "care and concern." Women are the most caring and loving people in the church and a church cannot function without that care and concern for Lord and for the work of the ministry. Even Christ was treated to the care and concern of Mary who washed his feet with her hair. We men can be so brutish that we forget about emotions in people in the church. That's where women have their greatest gift in the House of Yahweh.
Wow, enjoyed reading your post.
This is the first post I've read from a woman regarding this subject that speaks clear and humbly.
Your husband is a blessed man to have a wife such as you.
The only answer to this post topic is this- if your leader has set the rules of the house then (within reason) that is what you should follow.
The church the place where humility and obedience should be running over is the ONLY place where we buck against leadership and want to do our own thing.
Your job, school, city council, and government will do whatever they want to do and won't even attempt to do anything but the pastor says no pants and all of a sudden the devil is a lie!!!
What happened to obedience?
Honestly, I agree somewhat a woman should not be wearing pants to church- especially if they are too tight however then again if you are in a position of leadership you need not to be allowing the influence of the world tell you what to wear.
So, if you leader has said NO pants then it is no pants or find a church that will allow you to wear pants.
Disobedience is yet disobedience- no matter how you cut it.
The Bible said to obey them that have the rule over you NOT obey them that have the rule over you if you agree.
Well said
Oh wow YOU need to be somewhere preaching this good word you bringin' lol!!!
However, because of the feminist/women's liberation movement that has entered the church your message gets lost.
But one day God will move all the mess to hear true ministry!!!
WOW.. how did this topic get revitalized?
PTL! WOW...I have a question? IF we are ONE body of CHRIST...Why is there so much confusion? God is not a God of confusion. If there is not a scripture base reason or command that woman should or should not wear pants that I believe "MAN" should stop trying to recreate God's word. God makes NO mistakes. God is not judging my clothing when I am Kingdom building...He is judging my heart! But if God see's it for me to change then I believe the Holy Spirit will reveal that to me or (woman) but until then I say our jobs before Christ is not to change people. That is God's job. We are here to bring them into the house of the Lord and feed them spiritual food. God will do the rest. If pants is all I have then in pants I will spread the gospel. Now if some people have issues I say go to the Father and ask that the light be shined on this situation for you. If you ever have an issues with a woman wearing pants go buy her a dress in Jesus name! Amen! God bless! :-)
It's not about what the Word says about it, it is about preventing sexual immorality in the church and one of the best ways to do that is to make sure everyone abides by certain dress codes to prevent lustful displays of flesh. And it is proven that that a woman's shape and butt is magnified in the cut of pants. It's not about Yahweh's Word, it's about Christian discipline and respect. As for new converts, they tend to follow what they see the saints do. So if the saints have a standard, most new converts model themselves after that. Dress codes are not a religion, but necessary as a form of identity. I think it's funny that we follow our dress code at work without question, yet we see no purpose of having one in the church. People that work at Target must have a red shirt on and kakhi bottom. That is how they are identifed by us, the consumer. Same should be for the church. "God looks at the heart", but we are not trying to save God, "man looks on the outward appearnce," we are trying to draw men.
