Hello to All: My question is if we sin, and we all do, and ask for forgiveness/repent quickly, which I know that God does forgive, will we still have to reap that sin or sins some where down the line? I have been in ministry since 2006, preached about 6 to 8 sermons and somehow I still feel somewhat inadequate. I guess this is one question and one comment for help

God Bless you Sis. Cooper:

Just want to give you a heads-up; be prepared to be challenged by your statement (which I concur):

". . . .if we sin, and we all do, and ask for forgiveness/repent quickly, which I know that God does forgive, . . ."

There are members on this site that will say you are not walking in the newness of life if you are still sinning and not keeping the "Law."

But to address your question:

It is my understanding that if it is unrepented sin, you will most definitely reap what your sow. For those of us who are saved and have the indwelling Holy Spirit, every time we commit an act of sin, our hearts are immediately convicted, even if we attempt to grieve the Holy Spirit. Therefore, there can be no excuse to say, "I didn't know I committed a sin."
Thank you Chaplain Harris, I did not say that I was still sinning. I was asked this question by a friend in need and have searched the srciptures and I found in Psalm 103:12 that;, as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us, which tells us that he has wiped our record clean. But their question was will we still have to pay for it or them somewhere down the line. Also, I know that I am walking in the newness of Christ but, can you actually say that you don't sin? (not meaning you personnally) . I'm sure that we don't sin intentionally but there is something we think, we look at, we do, that is not pleasing to God. Everyday I give God the glory but I am not perfect, I am striving for perfection. Again that question is will we have to pay for our sins down the line or is it gone forever.
Sis. Cooper,

There are members on this site that will say you are not walking in the newness of life if you are still sinning and not keeping the "Law."

Nowhere in the above statement did I say or implied that "you" are "still" sinning. There are others who will take your statement: ". . . .if we sin, and we all do, as an implication that you are still sinning.

I was merely giving you a heads-up on a potential challenge, and nothing else. My apologies for troubling you and confusing you.
Thank you, I understand.... May God Bless You for your conversation.
An additional comment:

No matter the sin or the request for forgiveness or the process of repentance one may engage in, the results of our sin(s) may well follow after us - the consequences of our actions (reaping and sowing). As an example, theft may well result in jail time even though the 'sin' is forgiven by God. In the case of this example, it includes taking personal responsibility for our action(s) regardless of God's forgiveness and our personal standing before Him.

Look at the life of king David.
Thank You A. W. Bowman I do understand.
