CAN A PASTOR TELL LIES?

Lying lips are an abomination! To practice deception as a part of your ministry is not of God! The book of James states that we should not be quick to be teachers because we are responsible for what we tell people.therefore Pastors are held to higher standard concerning the words that come out of their mouth! Spiritual leaders should be as honest and transparent as the Spirit allows!

My response on the surface is yes, a pastor can tell lies because pastors being human with the inherited sin nature have the ability to tell lies just like the rest of us humans.

Why would they lie? That is a given that they can tell lies. All men have the ability to lie, but why would they being men of God?

I merely responded to the question; I did not elaborate by saying a pastor told a lie and why. I simply said a pastor can (having the ability) lie just like we can lie because of the inherited sin nature. Now, whether we or a pastor choose to lie or not is another area of concern.

OK lying is a sin. bearing false witness is a sin. if a Pastor lies; it still sin...Hell will not get any hotter if you're not a Pastor the Devil will turn on the air conditioner if you're a Pastor. All human beings have the Human capacity to tell a lie. God is the only one that lacks this Capacity. The Devil is the Father of lies. GBU
