Whoah.
I thought you were talking about 'polandry'
Sorry Zealot.
Polygamy would fall under laws of the land, wouldnt it? the Bible teaches that you should obey the laws of the land, but doesnt teach against polygamy....so if the law of the land forbids multiple wives, then you cant do that & vice versa. @ newview, i dont know of any countries that allow multiple husbands tho...
Rebekeh,

Most countries in the Middle East allow Polygamy. The U.S, on the other hand, forbids it.
James, Zealot - I hope your girlfriends, fiances, wives dont know what you guys think about multiple relationships :-) Heehee
It is a tough pill to swallow that polygamy is not forbidden in the scriptures because I do not see anything about this lifestyle that I would consider morally acceptable. So, I must seek further understanding from God as to where does it fit into the Moral Laws He established.
Do not be troubled. Polygamy violates the law of marriage as written Ge 2:24. The messiah stated it clearly in Matthew 19:5. Those that believe polygamy is correct because our Father never spoke against it are lustful and are abusing the word to sanction their iniquity.

Lev 18:18 is another prohibition. The dead sea sect (essenes) interpreted the scripture as it should have been one wife to another. In every place in the hebrew the idiomatic phrase is rendered one to another and it should read as such here. Thou shalt not take one wife to another to vex. The dead sea sect scrolls is Torah.

Read Toward OT Ethics by Walter Kaiser or The Hebrew wife by S. E. Dwight. Look in your king james for side notes.

Also read Mal 2:14 and many other verses. This will help you to fight the spirit of lust that I have witnessed here.

The references above will help any man or woman to combat this lustful spirit.

end
"...This will help you to fight the spirit of lust that I have witnessed here..."

All kinds of spirits are lurking on the BPN of late. They bring doctrines of devils.
Thank you Bro. Keith for this insight and confirmation. If God intended to sanction polygamy, He would have created multiple wives for Adam.
Keith, I'm afraid that you spoke sincerely, yet out in error.
right....so if we lived in those countries, it would be okay to do. however, i live in the US so my husband will only have one wife ;) i was addressing newview about the multiple husbands ...never heard of that being okay anywhere.
I agree Sis. Rebekah,

I am so glad to live in the U.S. where marriage is sanction by one man to one woman (and one woman to one man).

I never heard of any country as yet that allows a woman to have multiple husbands.
"...I never heard of any country as yet that allows a woman to have multiple husbands. "

Sis, Ive only heard about it being practiced among certain tribes in Africa.
