I think it is very important that preachers of today need to be seminary trained .

i say that because there are no more dumb folk in the church and i feel that it is a sad day for the preacher if he has somebody in the congregation that knows more about the bible than the preacher. Also i feel that if the pulpit is dumb then the pews are dumb.

Well said Brother Mark C. Woods. Your understanding is quite fruitful regarding this matter, and your words ring refreshingly true. Keep your focus. It seems to me that you are being taught of THE TEACHER (Holy Spirit).
Bro. Woods could not have said it better. I'll say this again. We have to live our lives holy unto God.
Not saying others haven't said anything that made sense but this is truly what it is about Brother Woods. It is the Holy Spirit PERIOD that teaches us and NOT MAN'S EDUCATION! The Gospel is simple but there will be those that have eyes and can't see and ears and can't hear and because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a/the lie.

What you have stated is the pure essence to me of what it means to have God's Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge and not man's. God bless.
I agree with this wholeheartedly!!!
This is a tricky situation.

Young preachers need to work alongside another in ministry. 90% of what he will learn about God will come from direct contact with the church. All the education in the world cannot fully prepare him for dealing with sinful people (of whom we are all of in the flesh).

I am however a big proponent of advanced training for the ministry.
I agree with this. Let me tell you of an experience I had.
I went to my pastor a couple years ago letting him know that I am called to the ministry.
Mind you, I didn't tell him I wanted to preach the next Sunday nor did I tell him I wanted to preach next year.
He didn't ask me about my salvation, being saved, filled or how I lived out my walk with Jesus.
Instead I was told that Paul studied for 3 years in Arabia before he preached and I needed to go to come class held by my jurisdiction and that when he needed me he'd call on me to do other things.
I never brought it up again nor did I go to his office again.
He was supposed to be teaching me instead he turned me away from him.
He was supposed to take me under his wing instead he clipped mine.
It's sad if you ask me.
The ones who WANT to do are pushed away and the ones who need to be sat down and elevated.
But God will get the glory.
I feel instead of posting what the news paper reported about this man of God, those who read about it, those who "think" they know about it, should ( if they really had Christ in them) pray over this situation and for the pastor accused.

The only people that really know the "truth" about this would be the accused pastor and that 12 year old child. I work in the school system, and I know of a number of times when girls have approached the boys and male falcuty in a manner that was not appropriate. Then when or if the boys or man began to respond, the girls liked the attention, yet became scared if they saw sex was going to come into play for fear of getting pregnant. Some went all the way, thought they were pregnant and tried to yell rape. Some of the children that walk around (boys and girls alike) look like they are in their 20's or older, and have the bodies to go with it. Many of them PUT THEMSELVES OUT THERE to get attention.

No one should speculate on what happened allegedly or why it allegedly happened. That is what is wrong with the world today. When there is anything negative said about a man of God or a child of God, people are quick to tell, talk and speculate. There is no question as to the anointing on this man of God. He is a very powerful speaker and God does not bless mess, so would it not stand to reason that the accusations are just that, "mess".

If we sought God and his forgiveness and he forgave us, who are you to pass judgement or try and drag the character of another through the mud? "Let he that is without sin cast the first stone." I can say with much certainty, that anyone who has put in their two cents concerning this accusation is NOT WITHOUT SIN and can't touch a stone, let alone cast it. Look at yourselves, correct yourselves first before ridiculing others. It is obvious from the posting of the newspaper article and or comment(s) you have not looked at the man in the mirror and gotten him/her right. For had you done so, ALL THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SAID WAS, LET US ALL LIFT THIS PASTOR UP IN PRAYER.
THE WORD SAYS THE HOLY GHOST WILL TREACH YOU ALL THINGS, NOT MAN, WHEN GOD CALLS HE POURS,HIS WILL. , WAY, AND WORD IN YOU. THE WORD SAYS LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU THAT WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS. AMEN. SO MAN CAN NOT DO WHAT THE HOLY GHOST HAS ALREADY GIVEN TO THOSE WHO GOD HAS CALLED. AND WHO GOD HAS CALLED HE ALSO ORDAINED, AND PREPARED. AMEN JESUS!!!!!!
Yes, Jesus in John 14:26 tells His disciples "Jn 14:26b "He (the Holy Spirit) will teach you all things....but you're make the very mistake that this post is talking about. The d part of the verse was not mention. It reads Jn 14:26d "and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." See Jesus told them that they would remember what He said to them. The real problem with Black preachers not having any traning is that thay don't know the Bible. And I can Prove it. Care to take the test?
you will know them by the fruit they bare
The revealed word of God does not come by education, but by revelation. God's spirit calls to the deep of our spirit. (Psalms 42:7)
2 Cor. 3: 6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
This is by far the best post I have seen on BPN. It shows the true nature of our understanding of the Scriptures. To all of you that say no to Bible College or Seminary training I have a question for you. Would any of you go to any person that says I’m a doctor and knows nothing about the human body? Let me answer that for you NO, NO, NO you would not. So why do you go to churches where the preacher knows nothing about the Bible. It’s just a question……
