Where did This all come from?
Here is a challenge to the forum.
Does anybody know just where MOST of the practices that are done today in Black Christain churches come from?
Think about the Blacks here in Amreica today.
Everything was given to us when we were brought here. Things we once did were taken away and replaced with what our masters wanted us to have!
Our names were changed! Our language was changed! Our customs were changed! Our masters allowed us to keep NONE of what we had in the land of our fathers! Would it be unreasonable to think our religion was NOT what we practiced in the land of our fathers?
Where do you think our style of preaching came from? Was it something we copied or did we come up with it on our own? Did we peek through the holes of walls of the church? Did we learn it from the back rows and balcony of the church of our masters? Or is what most do today something that is unique to us?
Now what about this bible most of us read, the KJV?
Does anybody know who put it together? Who decided what books should be in it? What bible did King James copy from to make what most use today?
And what of the doctrines that most practice? Are they practiced because they were researched, studied and proved through the word of God? Or are they done because our parents did it that way, and their parents did it that way and all of the parents before them did it that way?
And where did "THAT WAY" come from? Was "THAT WAY" the way that was given to us like everything else?
Let's do just a little research and find where these things that we do came from?
Who tried to change God's Sabbath from the 7th day of the week to the first day? Do you know who it was?
Who gave you the idea that Heaven is your reward we you die, when ALL through God's word He says He desires to dwell here on earth? Do you know who gave it to you?
Who gave you the idea that Jesus died on a Fri. and was raised on a Sun., when Jesus Himself said He would be in the grave for 3 days AND 3 nights? Do you know who gave you that?
Who was it that gave you a concept that is IMPOSSIBLE to understand, pre-dates almost ALL of the prophets, is not found preached anywhere in God's word, was practiced by pagans for thousands of years and took over 300 years after the death of Christ, before anyone finally came up with an answer, that to this day is still a "Mystery"?
Who changed the start of a day from God's start time of evening to evening?
Who changed the start of a new year from God's start time of Spring?
Do you know what organization gave you all of these things?
That's right.........one organization is responsible for ALL of the things mentioned above; from the contents of the KJV bible to ALL of the doctrines and changes spoken of!
So do you know just where did all of this come from?
"Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way."
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
"How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!"

Please tell me you are kidding? Are you saying you have NO CLUE as to who it was that gave you these things YOU call "doctrine"? And you call yourself a "pastor"? One that is supposed to lead the people to truth? Are you leading the ones that are reading this post to the truth by saying it was "slavery" that was responsible for all of the changes mentioned?
My challange was to go and read, research, find out the truth!
For those reading this, slavery was NOT the reason for the changes mentioned in this post. The changes came from an organization that most blacks churches branched off from.
Unlike the "pastor", I have proof, and that same proof can be found on the internet. If you don't have a computer to use, go to the library. Find a set of encyclopedias. The truth is out there!

The truth is not in the internet or man made encyclopedias, the truth can only be found in the word of God [bible] by the unction of the Holy Ghost. Our faith and belief on God is not based on mans philosphy. The bible says that the word of God changes not. example the bible says that the sabbath is saturday [True] Christians celbrate sabbath on sunday,because we honor the day that Chrsit Jesus rose from the Grave. We are not under law [old testament ] we are under Grace [new testament..Heaven in which we will dwell is not in the sky but here on earth. In Revelation the bible says a new Jerusalem[Heaven] came down to Earth. one more example the bible says three nights and three days in the grave. A jewish day is from sunrise to sunset or 12 hours ]ancient hebrews] any part of day is considered a day . here goes Christ died on friday one day was laid the tomb that friday evening one night. in the grave all day saturday day and night. we havw two days and two nights so far. he rose sunday morning one day because any part of a day is considered a day he is afforded the night as well . so we have three days and three nights in the grave. ALL of this is in the Bible God Holy and Righteous Divine Word,Will, and Way .

Please tell me, dear "pastor", where in God's word did you get such information? What Book, chapt and verse gave you such wisdom?
That's what I thought! You did NOT get it from God's word! You had to go outside of the bible for this information.
The only problem is that you leaned on the wisdom of man and NOT the words of God.
Jesus said the following;
Matt.12
[40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Again, your GOD said (3) days and (3) nights!
Now let's go to the bible for a definition:
John 11
[9] Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day?
Now this is Jesus talking here. HE is the one that gives us a defintion of how many hours are in A DAY!
And He said there are 12 HOURS IN A DAY!
Now how many hours does that leave us for a NIGHT! TWELVE!!!!!
With that said, going with what Jesus said; "three days and three nights", we have the following:
3 days = (12hrs.) + (12hrs.) + (12hrs) = 36hrs
AND
3 nights = (12hrs.) + (12hrs.) + (12hrs.) = 36hrs.
Total you have 72hrs. Three days AND three nights just like Jesus said.
You had to go outside of God's word to try to find something to make your "false" doctrine of a (Fri. death and Sun. rise) work.
When if you just studied God's word and look for Him for the truth you would have found it!
Now how about researching and finding out who it was that gave you this false teaching of a Fri. death and Sun. rise?
Again readers.....the answers are out there, and you can find them in the same place the "dear pastor" found out this wrong way of measuring a day, just so he can continue practicing a false doctrine!
Again, here are just a few items to start your search;

Knowing that you were not there in the begining then someone had to teach you. How do you know the start of spring ,winter or summer?. I never said man changed the sabbath day of God . I said we celebrate the sabbath on sunday because. chrsit Jesus has given us freedom from the law and zealots as you are . I know in whom I believe that is Christ jesus. I don't need to search for I have found the only true and living God. All my bibilical knowkedge comes from the Holy Ghost. Concering the time element, this is what the ancient hebrews used.psss go back and do your research on what sun rise to sunset is?

I said we celebrate the sabbath on sunday because. chrsit Jesus has given us freedom from the law and zealots as you are . I know in whom I believe that is Christ jesus.
Why would the Lord Hallow the Sabbath, and make it Holy, and Jesus come along, and say, Now you can do the Sabbath any day you want. Is not Satan the God of Freedom?

I know the start of the seasons because God's words tells me. It was man that changed it to what we have today.
And no.....you do NOT celebrate God's sabbath at all. You celebrate the day a certain organization GAVE you to celebrate!
And concerning the time element...where did you get this information? I know it was not from God's holy word!
Sunrise to sunset has not chnaged since it was created. It has and always will be approx. a twelve hour period. And from sunset to sunrise remains the same also! Another twelve hour period.
Now "pastor" why do you buck against the words Jesus gave you;
John 11
[9] Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day?
Why would I have to go to research what the Jews did in times past? The Jews also said you had to wash hands and plates and pots before eating, but what did Jesus say:
"These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man."
So i just don't see why you insist I go to reaserch what the Jews of old did, when I have the words of Christ to read right in front of me.
And HE SAID, there are 12 hours in a day!
Besides "pastor", will you not address the questions presented to you?

Nothing has changed the sabbath day is saturday period. Through the grace of the Lord Jesus the Christ I am allowed to celebrate not change the sabbath on sunday verses saturday.

Pastor Valentine, do you not know when this change took place? And what of the other things I presented? Do you not know that a religious organization, sat down and made it mandatory to worship on the first day of the week and NOT the 7th?
Do you not know that the same religious group sat down to determine when Easter will be celebrated? Did you not know this same group is responsible for the change in the calender?
Do you think all of these things just came about on their own?
You are celebrating these events because you are following the changes brought on by one religeous organization!
You are celebrating THEIR changes! Not God's!
Please tell me you ARE awear of this!!!

I know the start of the seasons because I took the time to research and find out that what we have now was changed! And not only the seasons but the way we change from day to day!
God's way was perfect. You did not need a calender to know when the seasons changed (Unlike now!)!
God's way was simple, you knew spring was here with the change in weather. Trees bud, flowers bloom, grass turns green in the springtime. That is the beginning of God's year. As a matter of fact, it was not that long ago that the whole world started it's new year around the same time, Mar - Apr.
But now we have the new year starting in the middle of winter. Where is the change? How do you know unless you look at a calender.
So is it with the change of a day. God had it so that you did not need a watch or anything to know when one day ended and another began. Sunset was the end of one day and the beginning of another; simple.
But what did man do? Now you need a watch or clock to know when it is midnight.
And who was it that brought this change?
Do you not know "pastor"? Do you not care? Does your congregation know? Will you not feed them?
