Are pastors who allowed their wives to preach and teach over men in the congregation disobeying God?

1Timothy 2

11 Let a woman in quietness learn in all subjection, 12 and a woman I do not suffer to teach, nor to rule a husband, but to be in quietness, 13 for Adam was first formed, then Eve, 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, into transgression came, 15 and she shall be saved through the child-bearing, if they remain in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.

1Timothy 3
5(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)

In response to your comment:

My point was that when a woman is accused of being controlling (or as many say a Jezebel), that woman can ONLY fully operate in such a role IF there is a man with an Ahab mentality. It's a conditional mindset. The conditions have to be right for such a woman to operate in such a way. She can't be controlling with a man who is strong in character, intellect and spirit. He won't allow her to control him like that.

That is like saying "a man cannot be domineering if a woman stands up to him and does not back down. She is only weak if she allows herself to be treated in such a way." The word gives us specific instructions on how we are to treat one another so that we may be heirs of this life together.

This is exactly what Adam and Eve did and it is the same spirit we struggle with today: the man you gave me or the woman you gave me made me do it. If you are controlling you're just controlling. The other person's response does not vindicate your responsibility for why you are acting that way.

In laymen's terms it's like saying this:
If I'm acting like a godly wife its my husband's fault.
If I'm not acting like a godly wife its my husband's fault.
I hear what you are saying brother McClain but you misunderstand my statement.

My point is that for that dysfunctional relationship to last (where one person is controlling or domineering and the other is being controlled or dominated) there must be a 50/50 responsibility. I'm not blaming the man for the woman being controlling neither would I blame the woman for the man being domineering.

My point, again, is that for those types of relationships to REMAIN dysfunctional... BOTH persons would be equally responsible for their actions or lack thereof.

I agree...a controlling person is a controlling person with or without a person allowing it... But in a relationship....it doesnt have to be allowed.

To give an example of your point it would be like saying that a person can hit me because they are a bully with our without them hitting me. MY responsibility in that situation would be to continue to allow myself to be hit, or fight back, or remove myself from the situation. In that scenario, the bully can be a bully all by themself or be allowed to bully someone else.

Again, in a relationship it is fiddy....fiddy.
"AND THE MAN SAID, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, AND I DID EAT. Genesis 3:12

We are either on the same team fighting the same battle or we are not.
The gender strife and bickering is just another way the enemy has divided and overtaken the Christian camp.

Men need to MAN-UP, LINE-UP or SHUT-UP and stop pointing to the woman as the problem.
Women need to WOMAN-UP, LINE-UP or SHUT-UP and do what God has called them to do.

I take my marching orders from God not man.
Respectfully....

The tone of your language is a sign that you may not have the spirit of God...Its neither ladylike or godly to tell a man to shut up...as for your marching orders from God...if you were listening to God you would know he said this... focus mainly on verse 4

1 Peter 3
1Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

2While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

3Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

4But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

5For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

6Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Peace
Preacha man ---> God Bless your heart.

I am so very glad that God is my sole master and my only judge.

So I am going to take my own advice and.......

WOMAN-UP, LINE-UP AND SHUT-UP and do what God has called me to do.

Peace & Blessings!!

I just want to ask a question, for these blogs come up often, because of the refusal to accept the fact that 1Timothy was to a particular baby church, ONLY.

What is it that the women of God are saying that upsets SOME men of God? surely, not anything in reference to the gospel?? for we have to be in agreement with the gospel of Christ?

and if it's not that, it has to be the mere fact that we are women? and how do you reconcile that with

Gal. 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
The verses given had nothing to do with a baby church... wnhatever that is..it had nothing to do with the churches of that time as some also have imagined...think about it...God gave the reason why women are not to pastor any church and it had to do with Eve...so it has nothing to do with churches of that day or a baby church..its has to do with the fact that women were not made to have authority over the man in the congregation or the home..period..women cannot be in a God glorifying relationship with the Lord unless they understand this and accept it..and only the woman who is truly born of God will do so...the rest will continue to kick against it..

Yes, there is niether male or female in Christ meaning...God is no respecter of person...but the fact still remains that the word of God has become a stumbling block and an offense to some women who's rebellious hearts are set on doing things their own way...and not God's way...the bible says they confess me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me...

them darn rebellious women.... its a good thing we don't need to address BOTH the men AND women when it pertains to responsibility to what ailes the Body of Christ and what causes issues in the God ordained family structure of authority....darn them rebellious women....if it weren't for them.....

Do you remember this commercial?

I think many believe that if it weren't for Eve, Adam probably would have never sinned. So Eve's deception is magnified while Adam's sin is kept minimal.

So...how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop...hmmm???
Would Adam have sinned if it weren't for Eve offering him the fruit...hmmmm?

......the world will never know.

Genesis chapter 1
Genesis chapter 2
Genesis chapter 3

CHOMP!!!

darn them rebellious women....

(Adam...where are you?)

oh there you are....standing right next to Eve

darn that Eve.....
Girlfriend, with all the stuff I've been thru and have seen men and women go thru in this life... you either laugh or you cry.... and this heya sista is not one who stays sad too long. Scriptures tells us there is a TIME to cry.... at some point the time is up and we must remember that since we have the Holy Spirit...we already have JOY...unspeakable to the full till it overflows.
Abigail, Deborah the Judge and Esther

were not pastors of a Church...and did not have authority over men in the congregation...

my friend... Adam didn't sin....
hmmm. maybe he just transgressed (Rom 5:14)

there must be a significant difference between the two words.

Context: Romans 5:12-21

I will say this my friend...you are so terribly persistent indeed LOL

Romans must be talking about Eve's deception....
