Are pastors who allowed their wives to preach and teach over men in the congregation disobeying God?

1Timothy 2

11 Let a woman in quietness learn in all subjection, 12 and a woman I do not suffer to teach, nor to rule a husband, but to be in quietness, 13 for Adam was first formed, then Eve, 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, into transgression came, 15 and she shall be saved through the child-bearing, if they remain in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.

1Timothy 3
5(If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)

Thats not what the bible is saying and you know it...LOL
Women are not allowed to preach or teach in any circumstances...I can, but I can't believe you would purposely distort scripture like that....

"...Women are not allowed to preach or teach in any circumstances..."

I just quoted the scriptures.
But now you are adding because you just said that she is not allowed to teach in any circumstances.
Give me a scripture to trump my scripture.
No you didn't..you quoted what you think...the bible ghives no room for a woman preacher or teacher over men in the congregation...the scripture cannot be broken...

Are you serious? Are we on camera?

Where did I say that they could to be a preacher or teacher over the men in the congregation?

I never said that - I said she is to teach her children and young women how to be good mothers and wives.

Surely you know that.
Surely you read the instructions of the apostle that they are to INDEED teach...
NOT THE MEN, NOT THE MEN, NOT THE MEN
11 Let a woman in quietness learn in all subjection. women have learned since then!!!! women are judges, lawyers, doctors, (ect.)we've come A long way baby, and all by the grace of God.
Thoes earthly jobs have nothing to do with the church...keep trying to twist God's word...

Question....now this is a serious and sincere question. .

We know that we should have an understand of the scriptures from a Jewish cultural perspective per se not a Western American cultural perspective.

With that said,

Did women in the Bible have non tabernacle or non temple or non "church" related authority over men?

for example like we have female police officers, politicians, judges, and many other such jobs.

Did women hold such authoritative positions back then? OR was it a non issue because those types of positions were not for women?

I ask because some not all of the scriptures used don't really address where a woman isn't supposed to have authority over a man...just that she isn't suppose to have it.

So how can we assume that it is only applicable to church alone and not across the board?

Why isn't it wrong for a woman to have authority over a man outside the church?

Lastly, are spiritual things only related and/or regulated to the temple / church?
Leviticus 27 >>

1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If anyone makes a special vow to dedicate persons to the Lord by giving equivalent values, 3set the value of a male between the ages of twenty and sixty at fifty shekels of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel; 4and if it is a female, set her value at thirty shekels. 5If it is a person between the ages of five and twenty, set the value of a male at twenty shekels and of a female at ten shekels. 6If it is a person between one month and five years, set the value of a male at five shekels of silver and that of a female at three shekels of silver. 7If it is a person sixty years old or more, set the value of a male at fifteen shekels and of a female at ten shekels.

And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.

27:4 Thirty shekels - Less than the man's price, because she is inferior to him both in strength and serviceableness

Preacher,

Our lives as men and women of God are not dependent or based on monetary value.
when reading the Bible, we must consider, 1. who is speaking, 2. to whom he is speaking, 3. in what time it happens, 4. for what purpose he spoke.
" when reading the Bible, we must consider,.."
1. ...who is speaking...,
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God

2. ...to whom he is speaking...,
To Timothy - a leader in the Body of Christ

3. ...in what time it happens...,
First century A.D.

4. ...for what purpose he spoke...
To keep as the pattern of sound teaching, to be diligent in that doctrine, give himself wholly to it and to save himself and the flock by preserving in them.
And as per norm for the church today....while we sit and debate, the world is dying.....we act like Greeks, like Athenians!!!

Haiti earthquake...many nations cannot even AFFORD to help them. The rescue mission is too expensive!! And of course...what's in it for other nations besides the humnitarian effort? What is Haiti's greatest resource that can be sucked out of them? They don't have oil; there's no abundance of farming that can be filtered to other nations. All Haiti has is corruption and debilitating poverty. Their main commodity is a puppet government and the enslavement of its people in various ways. So, before a nations goes to EXTREMELY expensive measures to help them, the nations think, "hey what's in it for me" The major benefit of a nation helping Haiti right now is that the WORLD IS WATCHING so they can "look good" helping Haiti for a short time.

It AMAZES me (and I include myself in this too) how WE, the Body of Christ, can spend hours....no DAYS just bumpin' our gums about something and can't or won't put that same energy and effort into DISCUSSING ways to go out into our LOCAL communities...let alone travel half across the world, to be light in a dying world.

The point of the disucssion is: if a man doesn't manage his own family how can he take care of God's church right?

My question is if the church can't stop acting like Athenians (great debators), how can they effect change in the world. We're a lamp under a bushel at best.

We sit here discussinga topic about women not having authority over men (in the church or in "jobs" that have nothing to do with the church, we discuss women not teaching (in church or at all), we discuss Adam sinning or not sinning, we talk about the home not being in order while the men whose homes are out of order are trying to run the church.....we

I bet we won't even table this discussion to think of ways we can discover who in our local community needs help and how we can help them indiviudally and collectively. OR how can WE here on this very discussion find ways to help (even if it is only mniscule aide) the people over in Haiti.

Or will our attitude be: the poor will be with us always, lets deal with this 1 Timothy problem by discussing it ad nauseum

I can just IMAGINE what the response will be to what I have just said...I already know.

How horrible it would be for a woman to try to rally folk to set aside a topic and discuss ways to help other people
How mistakable it would be for a man whose house is jacked up to want to and even try to help someone else.

I don't mean do these things from the PULPIT or even as a leader in the church. I mean do it just as a human being void of title and position or whatever.

GRRR the "church" is so freakin frustrating at best. And its so easy to get distracted and get caught up in the madness of it all. NO WONDER why many folk outside the "church" see us a raggedy!

Peace.
