Why is it almost EVERYTHING most so called Christians practice is NOT supported by scripture?

Going to heaven? Can't find it!

Jesus second coming a "secret"? Can't find it!

Teaching you do not have to keep God's commandments? Not there!

Observing the birth of Jesus? No where to be found!

Jesus returning before the Tribulation period? Still looking for it!

Observing resurrection of Jesus on 1st day of the week? Nope!

Saints removed from this earth to avoid God's wrath? Where?

Having a holy convocation on the 1st day of the week? No way!

Some saints receiving the promise before others? Really?

Different laws for the nation of Israel vs. the rest of mankind? No!

Communion on either every 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Sunday! Not there!

Teaching you only need faith for eternal life? Wrong!

All of these, and many more, are taught and practiced by Christains around the world, but none are supported by scripture!

Why would anybody do things NOT supported by God's word?

Why would anybody teach these things?

Any ideas?

WRONG ANSWER. JOHN 14:6

Shalom in Christ
John 14
[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

And what did Jesus say is needed for eternal life?

Matt.19
[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

First of all, Jesus' ministry was to the lost sheep of Israel. During His earthly ministry and before the Day of Pentecost (birth of the Church), the people were still under the OT Laws. WE ARE NOT UNDER THE OT LAWS.

Keeping the commandments is the result of our salvation, it is no longer the pathway to eternal life since a vast number of people during those biblical times couldn't keep the commandments anyway.

Again, if keeping the commandments was the way to eternal life, then Jesus' death on the cross would have been in vain. GOD FORBID!
Eccl,

I am still waiting for your response to my question from a previous thread you posted.

Now, will you care to address the question about Judas losing eternal life?

Thanks, that was a great reply. And yes I agree with your statement, "...all we are encouraging people to do is live a life of love inspired obedience to the Commandments of the Most High according to His word..."!
