What does prosperity mean to the Body of Christ.  Does it has any place in teaching, is it

for the body, should it be taught or should it be ignored.  What is biblical prosperity?

What does the bible has to say about this topic?

I, too, had to learn the hard way how to get my priorities in order, such as asking for "wants" instead of thanking God for supplying my needs.

When I teach the basics of stewardship to our new members during our New Member Orientation Class, I remind them that God does provide according to our severability. We tend to over extend ourselves with worldliness and call it necessities.

Think about it, how did we get along before credit cards, computers, cell phones, IPods, Direct TV/Cable TV, etc.? Yet, we call these things necessities. There is nothing wrong with these items. The problem is the timing of which we need to seek God first before attempting to get these items. We need to refrain from the old cliche' of "keeping up with the Jones."
Praise the Lord Saints...

I like and agree with most of what I heard because the Word of God is always right, no matter what people say! However, to the ones I have read that have challenged the ability of God to prosper us physically as well as spiritually, (and let me say I in no ways endorse the idea that materialistic prosperity DEFINES salvation or spiritual prosperity --- BUT according to Scriptures it is a RESULT OR MANIFESTATION or favor with God and obedience to God)...No one has yet mentioned.. Ephesians 3:20.. .that God is able to do EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY ABOVE (that's three adjectives!!) ALL (that's everything) that we can ask for OR EVEN THINK ABOUT!! Now, tell me how God is not interested in your physical or materialistic needs as well. Spiritual prosperity is FIRST AND FOREMOST AND SUPERIOR, but OUTWARD PROSPERITY IS NOT TO BE SHUNNED.. The order of things in the Kingdom of God states that if we seek after HIM and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HIS AGENDA IN THE EARTH, AND HIS WILL... ALL things.. food, clothing, and other things will be added.. So, there is a balance that needs to be emphasized.. we dont seek after the gifts the Father can give, but we seek after the GIVER. And we DONT seek the GIVER because we WANT HIM TO GIVE, but we seek Him because of who He is.. Because He's the Lord GOD ALMIGHTY. But, as we seek Him for who He is, it is NOT WRONG, to EXPECT HIS blessings to manifest in the natural as well as they would manifest in the spirit. Hope this helps...

Amen....amen!!
I know of not one believer who has more money than the richest people in the world and most of them don't want anything to do with Jesus...understand?
did God prosper the unbeliever more than the believer...?what peole need to realize is the more of this world you are given could be an indication that you might not be a child of God..

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

Do you believe that poverty is the will of God for His people?
Your words contradict the words of the Bible completely. You come from the mindset of "a poor righteous teacher", when in fact that poverty was viewed as a curse even in the days of Moses. Most often, poverty came from disobedience to GOD's words and system of work. If you wanted to quote CHRIST, why didn't you take some of these quotes?

Mark 10:24-30 "And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life."

Luke 16:1-14 "And He said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord? And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him."

This parable shows that GOD looks at your faithfulness with Earthly riches in order to show you and determine what a person would do with Spiritual riches. If you despise and treat wrongly Earthly gold, you would do the same with "Heaven's gold".

1st Timothy 6:6-19
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; that thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

Apostle Paul did not condemn the rich, but advised the rich to also be rich in good works. He didn't say "being rich is evil! Give it all away!!" Thats foolishness.
Once again, Brother Trevor, you have drilled the point home with boldness and simplicity!
Amen...this guy, who frowns on prosperity, is also the same character who says that all the Churches have left GOD. He's the LAST person I would take scriptural advice from, even if what he said was right at the time!
Jesus came a s a poor righteous teacher...
God is for the prosperity of His people--- only on the terms of obedience.
