My question is SCRIPTURALLY, is it permitted for a women to be a Pastor in the church?
I could really care less to hear the 'men won't take their place so God puts a woman there' ...because that's ridiculous..there are many men of God doing His work. In fact, there are some men who may even go to early which and that can be seen how the Gospel is handled by them and their maturity concerning submitting and resisting the flesh (That's another topic).
The fact is God is the same yesterday, today and forever...and I believe that His ways are final regardless of what the 'Norm' or what's popular is and I don't want to be out of line in my belief system.
Whether a man wouldn't take his place or not, God doesn't change His word and who He is. I've heard it said that, "If a female pastor bears fruit, they don't have anything to say". .. as if she doesn't its not OK..that seems like riding the fence to me and I believe on being definitive. My question would be..what do you view as fruit? People joining a church or building a community center on the back of the building. fruit is how well you line up with this scriptures with your life which then displays itself. When you are obedient to the Spirit of God, you can do nothing BUT bear fruit. God will will steer us the wrong way.
Yes, God used a donkey..that doesn't mean, I will let a donkey be my pastor. Also please do not use references to all the women who prophesied or preached..as that is not that same as pastoring (Leading and Guiding the sheep).
My SCRIPTURAL belief is that yes, a woman can be a pastor as long as she has a Bishop as her covering (1 Timothy 3:2-7..as a woman can not obviously have a wife and be pleasing to God...I also see in the new International version that is says Overseer and not Bishop (And overseer can mean pastor)...yet I refer to King James for definitive truths as I believe some translations can get a little sidetracked..because a mayor and a governor both oversee, yet they have different roles, so I think Bishop is there for a reason...to specify)......hence if she had a Bishop she would not be exercising total authority over a man.
Yes, the Word say that there is neither male nor female and that we are all one in Christ Jesus (Galations 3:28), yet the order of AUTHORITY that God has set in order never changes. What's next? We'll be above Jesus? or the Wife above the husband? or the ushers telling the pastors what to do? We can't get besides ourselves when it comes to Gods Authority.
I don't ever come off to know everything..at least I hope I don't, and I am open to hear SCRIPTURALLY, your view on this.
Note: Please capitalize G for God and J for Jesus. I believe we should Give God respect in all we do.
Thank you for your time,
Sincerely,
Timothy 'BliSs' Jones
