people are taking the song by Marvin Sapp "He saw the Best In me " to mean they can live in sin and God sees the best in them, same as living sinful lifestyles ,and saying " God know my Heart" . our good is not good enough, none are good, not one, only Jesus Chirst, what kind of message is he sending out?God does not see us, he can only see the blood of Jesus, after we are washed in it ,can someone tell me why is it that the unsaved are so crazy about this song?

let me tell you why I like the song...

I was in an assembly that always looked at the mistakes I made... and lets face it... we ALL make mistakes...they were always questioning whether or not I was over my addictions... just made me feel totally unworthy to be loved by God.

I grew up in the church and have been in and around the church most of my life... and to be treated like I was treated as an adult was very disheartening... to hear that part of the song... " it doesn't matter what I DID... He only sees me for who I am..." I love that part... it reminds me that God really has thrown my sins in the sea of forgetfullness and will remember them no more... my sins of the past are in the past and God is saying He sees ME... not my sin.

I don't understand why you said that God doesn't see us... how an He have plans for me and have predestined me if he doesn't see me?
Go back and read Jeremiah chapter 29, everything in the bible was not written to us - but it was written for us, the thoughts that God has for us are peace and not evil, and today this is salvation, to be a member of the body of Christ, washed in the blood, before we accepted Christ we were dead, ephesians 2, we were wretched Roman 7:24 Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;........... nothing in us is good enough , only by the blood of Jesus. if we were so good then we wouldnt need him. but thank God for Jesus!!!
nobody said we were good in and of ourselves...what I am saying is that now that we ARE in Him... hasn't he given us HIS Righteousness? We know that no good thing dwelleth in the flesh...
Thats right, without him we are nothing, but I said the (unsaved) or rather the ones that are still living in sin are using this song to justify their sins.
Amen Tricia!

I disagree.  I do not believe non-believers are using this song as a reason not to believe in the Trinity.  It would be counter-productive to them and in large part would show a lack of education the black church, in particular, is providing to its members.  A sinner, however, does have the benefits of God's goodness and mercy.  Surely, one who does not believe in Jesus or God the Father would not care to know this, and a non believer who would thumb his nose to God, cares little of God's benefits and would not even take a second look to a mere song to justify sinful behaviorism.  Thirdly, the unsaved who would even go to church would forsake their salvation if they believed they would be spared damnation when clearly Jesus told his disciples, "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock..." (Matthew 7: 22-4).
God's word is very clear.  To say that a song could justify unsaved people to continue to sin is patterned after Christian heresy " Nicolaism." This was a religious sect of Christianity that believed in Jesus, however, sinned outwardly, giving their bodies to sin since flesh was sinful, but still believing in Jesus that Salvation was still to come.  Jesus answered this heresy in the Book of Revelations.  He said. "Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.  But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate."  There.  Is that clear enough? Jesus goes on to say,"He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." (Revelations 5-7).
So I rule out the inference that a sinner, or a non believer, or a backslider sees this song as an opportunity to justify himself/herself to get into heaven. The Apostle Paul also answered this, so there should not be any misinterpretations of the justification, "Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.  Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." (Romans 8:33-4).  Now we can interpret how God works in his people because he only makes intercession for those who believe in him.  So if we believe the song is for the sinner, then it is the church's lack of teaching and frankly, I believe the church is educated in this doctrine because there is a large falling away from today's church.
"He Saw the Best in Me" is a love song of the intercession of Jesus Christ.  If one would study the short book of Jude, you would read this:  "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.."  This is divine news for the believer only.  Because God justifies the believer, his Son, Jesus, can forgive your sins, and present you before his Father blameless and be joyful.  That's the word; the song presents the doctrine of what God will do when the believer is being tried by life.
Lastly, the book of Jude also speaks of how the devil is around the throne of God attempting to convince God of the sins of Moses.  The devil will do that to the believer even unto death.  He has no reason to do that to the non believer.  The non believer is already with him.  So it is extremely important that the listeners of this song understand clearly that the song is for the believer. The believer does not practice sin, but is of the flesh, and corruptible; and is striving for salvation.  The non believer has no safety net and can not believe in human justification will get him/her into heaven.  Jesus said, "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 6:1).
This is why I can not subscribe to the theory that "He Saw the Best in Me" allows a sinner to sin, or rather, that a sinner can feel comfortable that God will see a sinner's heart as pure without believing in his Son Jesus.  This is impossible.   I hope that the church is educating the doctrine so that the non believer in the back row realizes without a shadow of a doubt you can sin a million times, but all is needed is for him/her is to be saved once, then watch God.

It would appear that this song is fattening frogs for snakes, and in a sense it is. The statement; "He saw the best in me" is subject to interpretation. We meditate upon these words and we think of the best "us" that we could be, and we think this is the "best in me" that God sees. But this is the way of children. I submit that the best in you is that spark, the spirit of the body, the hidden man of the heart, your immortal soul. Know you not that God is not the God of men, but that He is the God of souls. Your soul is the real you; the best part of you. The part of you that God loves. He cares for your body, only because your soul is in there. He cares for your soul because His Spirit/Breath is in there. This is the man which is created after God. This is the best in you that He sees that causes Him to love you with an unfathomable love. It's nothing that you can accomplish or come to. To be holy and acceptable to Him is but your reasonable service. A man loves his wife because he is one flesh with her. No man has yet hated his own flesh. God loves you because you having joined yourself to Christ is one spirit with Him. No man has yet hated his own flesh, and God does not hate his own Spirit. God loves you because He can't help it. His Spirit is there, and your potential is hid in the knowledge of your soul.

it is only because of the blood of
Jesus Christ, and not because of any
goodness or morality the Lord has seen in
us. It is only out of His sheer
mercy that He came to us and pulled us out of
judgment, even when we hesitated to leave our sins. The Lord, being merciful to
us, brought us forth
and has set us outside this doomed society. We deserve to
be consumed but He
has had mercy on us.

Queen Terell, It is because of the Blood of Jesus and not anything of our goodness and morality that the Lord has seen in us. But why did He bleed. He did not bleed for the Blood of Jesus. He bled for us. He bled because He is the lover of our souls. He is the lover of our lives, and He pitied us. True we were undeserving, but his nature, His breath, His spirit, that perfect hidden man of the heart which is created after God, long for Him when outwardly we do not (because of the cares of this life). David said, Like a deer panteth after water, so my soul longeth after thee, Oh Lord. It is my soul that gets the mercy, my body enjoy a temporal benefit of this mercy. My body is just dust, but my soul belongs to God.

My soul loves Jesus bless His name_

Amen!!!!

From heaven God shows how angry he is with all the wicked and evil things that sinful people do to crush the truth.  19 They know everything that can be known about God, because God has shown it all to them. 20 God’s eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made. That’s why those people don’t have any excuse. 21 They know about God, but they don’t honor him or even thank him. Their thoughts are useless, and their stupid minds are in the dark.

How about the CHURCH start preaching the truth then maybe those in sin would see the error in their ways?!
