How does tithing fit into a believers life?

Is it a must in a believer's life as a Christian?

Do non-Christians tithe?

If, it is , Why?

Where did the Tithe Come From?

Humanbeings could not keep the entire law that was the whole purpose of Jesus fulfilling all the law and then becoming a sacrifice for our sins. Now, we have people who want to make that sacrifice for naught by picking and choosing what Jewish Laws they want to bring back and will use all kinds of trickery and false teachings to support their lavish lifestyles.

Lets make this simple and lets not look at some fancy writings and teachings of people but look to what Jesus said about the law when dealing with the false teachers of the law during his day.

Matthew 22:34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.

35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:

36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"

37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these TWO commandments."

So Jesus said nothing about paying tithes to fulfill the law, he said Love fulfills all the LAW! Further more the Ten Commandments have no reference to Tithing. God gave the Ten Commandments, Tithing was not in those TEN. So who do we trust, the words of men and women who stand to benefit financially by preaching tithing or do we trust the teachings of Christ?
The Torah, Talmud, Tanak are the building stones of the Gospel. Every prophecy is pointing to Immanuel (Yahshua) [Jesus].
Tithing was the way God fixed a way for their to be "meat in His house , for sacrifice by the priests. The Levites were the live-in servants for whatever was needed to be done in the Temple for the Temple and by The Temple. There were rules set by God to direct his servants [ Deuteronomy, Leviticus, Numbers]. The Israelites were all his servants and responsible for being his instrument of teaching of His thoughts and His ways.

Tithing was God's way of Israeli self sufficiency. His people had to make a yearly aliyah to Jerusalem to make the sacrifices for forgiveness of their sin [including the priests and Levites] THE TITHES WERE GIVEN TO THE PRIESTS. do we have Levitical priest today? Do we have to sacrifice animals, have wave offerings, for forgiveness of sin today? Is there any other blood stronger than that of our Lord and Messiah Yahshua to wash away our sin,, transgressions, iniquity (bruised for)? By answering these questions you will decide is "tithing needed today, in the ways of God?

Now, supporting the kingdom of God is now our job. How do we support the works of the kingdom and it's laborers? Is it by tithing or giving? If we study the thoughts of God through the words of His son Yahshua(Jesus) What are the two commandments which envelope all of the laws? " Love your God with all your heart, mind, body, and soul." How do you do that? Answer this and you will have the answer about tithing vs giving.
Love your neighbor as much as yourself by looking out for his needs. Do nothing to cause your neighbor to be placed in a position to sin." Tithing vs Giving !

Ok , what have you come up with ?

1.1 Kings 19:18
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

2.Romans 11:4
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

You said: the Ten Commandments have no reference to Tithing. God gave the Ten Commandments, Tithing was not in those
Concider: neither was man shall not lie with man, so i suppose your saying it is OK as well

BruthaPharoah: now i do not believe we should tithe to a teacher that is teaching things that profit us nothing

Isaiah 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

but we are commanded to hold a holy convocation ,and we in all that we have is from the lord ,so we should give but tha collection plate is not scriptural

2king12:8And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

9But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD.

10And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.

11And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,

12And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

repairs have to be made

IF me could keep all the law then there would have been no need for Jesus to come and fulfill the law being the only righteous sacrifice for man sins. There have been and will never be a perfect human being able to keep all the law.

The point of tithing was to support the Priesthood, a Priesthood that does not exist. I never said to not give to worthy ministry, I said those preachers you tell you it is required by the law are lying or ignorant.

Again, I defer not to my own words but to that of Jesus, to fulfill all the law, Love God and Love your Neighbor.

Question, who do the Pastors and Preachers pay tithes too? They are not Levitical Preist if we are still under the law of tithing then who do they pay tithes too?

Never mind, no need to answer because I am no longer following this thread. Enough has been posted here for people to read and ask the Holy Spirit to guide them into all truth. I am not a Jew, I am follower of Christ.
thats funny jesus is a jew
When God speaks of being a Jew,he's not referring to the Nationality...he's speaking of being born again into the kingdom of God through the Lord Jesus...being a Jew in the bible means being a child of God born again through th Lord Jesus Christ...look it up?
