The Problem with the topic we are discussing there are so many in the Church from the Pulpit to the Pews struggling with this Spirit , the Blind leading the Blind & they all are all falling in the Ditch . When we are truly delivered we can help others, we want say , you are Judging me or God loves us all  .we will want to accept the Word. I am not perfect My late Husband  passed In August 2000, We had been Married for 27 years, I am living Celebrant today. never had a date , a  True Woman not dabbing in pictures , movies in my mind because It was in my heart. I was tired of what we saw in the pulpit and what we saw with Women & The young people having no one to look up to and I wanted to be really saved. My Mentors were Holy pure Celebrant Women that are much older late 70 &80 & I submitted myself to them God & I always travel all around the World with my Children. Fast & Pray & dont have people in my House , My car or alone with me. We have to cry out to God, work on being saved & delivered & there are Women In Our Church some older that live the same because we were the example  An my Mother that was a Widow years after us. No not perfect but want to be a Pastor & Mother that leads by example. Learned a long time ago what we do in secret we will be rewarded openly. Its our Secret lives, our secret walk. with God.

Now historical context will teach us that the Roman culture practiced pagan religions that used idols carved in the shapes of both animals and humans.  As part of these religions they relied on sexual rituals involving temple prostitution both same sex and heterosexual.  This is about same sex sexual practices in regards to pagan religion, not homosexuality as we know it.

Min. Palmer, the description of Romans 1:27,28 just defies the "temple prostitution" explanation. "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." The individuals being discussed here were far more likely homosexuals than temple prostitutes and patrons. They burned in their lust one toward another. It isn't idolatry that is being referenced right here... it is sexual orientation.

What???  It is sexual behavior that is the byproduct of pagan temple sexual practices.  These folks believed in fertility gods and goddesses and the rituals involved sex and sometimes same sex practices.  To me and my study that is what it points to, I could be wrong, but based on my prayer and study that is what I see.
It would seem that you are either contending that all instances of homosexual sex in Roman society was through temple prostitution, or that Paul believed this to be the case. The first point is easily discounted. We know from contemporary Roman writings, like that of Marcus Valerius Martialis (Martial), that many freeborn men of Rome were compelling their male slaves to have sex with them, and that even relationships between two freeborn men were not very uncommon. Paul's description of mutual sexual desire between two men (They burned in their lust one toward another...) is reflective of what Martial describes of the homosexual expression in Rome.
What do you teach your followers on the subject of homosexuality?

You're funny! Please tell me that you are not married and that you are not a pastor! I could not imagine either being true.

Wayne you can't deal with the issues at hand so you get personal.  Yep.

Here are two articles that are very powerful in showing the absurdity of a so-called "gay marriage". They are written by two well-know scholars. Here they are:

Enjoy!

There are plenty of debate on this issue and plenty of scholars, I wouldn't say that the ones you found are not well known but they state their points.

Cornel West has some great things to say about same sex marriage as well, he is a better known scholar  http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1530602

There is so much more to than this.

Wrong! Dr. Edith Humphrey is known Internationally as well as her colleague, Dr. Robert Gagon, the foremost scholar on the subject on human sexuality in the world! If you want to look him up, go to the Pittsburg Theological Seminary website. He is so powerful that even gay leaders refuse to debate him on the subject of homosexuality and ssm. Dr. Cornel West is liberal and embraces the nonsense of "Liberation Theology". He is also refuted to be gay by some in the circles that he run in.

ZZZZZ  it doesn't matter.  We can continue to go back and forth.  The truth is your ignorance was undressed and pointed out, you went personal and now you are playing the "somebody else said" card.  Good day God bless and Good Night.

Gerald:

I think that anyone that can read, clearly sees that you don't know what in the world you're talking about! I cannot imagine you being anybody's pastor with your very loose and destructive heresies. I realize that you are probably not a legitimate Seminary trained minister...at least not from an accredited Seminary; maybe you've done the T.D. Jakes thing and got a degree from a "Diploma Mill" from the Internet due to your "life experience".

You will never be able to convinced biblically literate people that God approves of Homosexuality. So perhaps you should not embarrass  yourself any longer! Take care and have a good weekend!
