Truth will set folks free. My reason for posting this is because I see preachers struggling to keep people in their church, wonderign if they really got saved or not. Something is wrong and many are looking for answers, some want better acoustics, or better equipment, more gimmicks, or gadgets, my question, why not preach salvation as in the book of Acts..like Acts 2:38 this sunday...I dare you!
The apostles taught a salvation message thats different from many of todays preachers. In Acts 2:38 (their salvation message to the Jews was "repent and be baptised in the name fo Jesus for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost". This gospel message was also given to the Gentiles in Acts 10.
How different this is to todays gospel which is given to us Gentiles, which is basically, ask Jesus into your heart (could not find this in the bible) repeat a prayer after me (could not find that either) In the light of this should we not preach what the apostles taught? after all they obeyed Jesus command of John 3:5, O yes thats something else we dont hear today that a man must be born again of "water and spirit!"
Imagine seeing folks repenting, being baptised and filled with the Holy Ghost, all one meeting on one night every time you made an altar calll..now thats what I call salvation... (Acts 2:38) I dare you to try it... It will revolutionise your ministry and church.
Brother Paul

Pastor Vincent.
Greetings brother Jerry, thank you my brother for your reply, my heart is to preach truth for in it lies the power of God unto salvation, truth that can shake and awake men of God to do exploits. I like what you said,"They preach their church instead of the Word of God which is Jesus." now that my brother is awesome..
He Jesus is the Word of God, so we must preach Jesus. The Word, God manifested in the flesh (John 1:1,14) the world has yet to see the truth of the incarnate God preached and manifested in the earth. if it was the world would know God in person and God by name.
I asked a preacher what is the name of God? he could not tell me. I said "Jesus" then I asked him if Jesus was his God, how could not answer me. Our faith is in the very fact that "God was manifested in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16) and when one understands the incarnation one will know and have the foundation of sound doctrine.
Jesus is God! none other like him, above him below him, or co-equal to him (Isaiah 47:5,9 ) God is one (Deut 6:4) now that's sound doctrine.
The Lord bless you my brother.

The Lord bless you Evangelist, May I share this thought with you. The greatest need today, I believe is to get back to the book of Acts and the apostles doctrine, why, it's the "faith once delivered" that was delivered once and for all (Jude 3) no faith has matched it, no denomination can exist without it, no preacher can be blessed that ignores it and no church can be authentic without living it. (Acts 2:42).
Your ministry is bound for success the Acts way,
The Lord bless you and many thanks for connecting on abcpreachers
Brother Paul
Good point my sister, and I take your comment. Yes I agree some issue's need to be adressed. I guess its the making of a regular theology out of them that others then take as gospel, that bothers me.
If I were to narrow down "issues" I would refer to them as mans subsitutionary teachings in the pulpit that have replaced sound doctrine. Sound doctrine being defined as the teaching of the apostles. Today it seems that we have made the issues our main concern and aborted sound doctrine as truth and to me thats where we go wrong and lose our power.
I agree with your discernment on self apointed leadership today, and as you said issues are easier to preach, especially when those not called question everything that called folks preach about! the new issue then become doctine of those who preach truth
Thanks for your input Sister Linda and I look forward to your input.
Paul
