Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

Praise God,Amen brother Iven,God bless you.

What is the purpose of clothing? it to cover our nakedness. Therefore, whatever that cannot cover you is of the devil.

The congregants are not taught to respect the house of God so they dress the way they want.

I have to ask are we going to turn away a woman because she comes into your church with pants on? The scriptures do teach us in the Old Testament that a man should not dress a s a woman and a man should not dress as a woman. I have believe that as to be true but I also have to understand that our times and cultures have changed. I personally do not have a problem with women in the church with pants on, I think our concern should be more so on the preaching of Christ and not denominational precepts and customs.

God bless you Elder Denny. I love your insight.

No right thinking preacher chases a woman away from church because of the way she dresses, rather she should be given a right hand of fellowship. Then as time goes on she should be taught how to glorify God with her  dressing.

There is no such passage. Deuteronomy 22:5 (ESV) 5 "A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God. This passage does not say that a woman cannot wear pants. As a matter of fact when it was written these Hebrews wasn't wearing pants any way.I don't allow women where I pastor to wear pants when ministering or serving. However, it is not a doctrine of STWM. It's my preference and leadership authority. But there is no such passage.

THIS IS A GOOD SUBJECT I THINK THAT WE ARE SO WORRIED ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE ARE WEARING THAT WE FORGET THAT THERE A SOULS AT STAKE AND THAT IS WERE WE MISS IT

Rev. Watson, people will keep talking about something when they don't resort to the truth, because they have questions, disagreements and just plain old disobedience.  Mankind will take scripture and dicipher it to their understanding, never truly committing to God and trusting that God IS.  If God knew you before the foundation of the earth, why wouldn't God know that pants were going to be made and that they were going to be made for a man and that women were going to be tempted to wear them also, likewise that men were going to want to put on dresses etc., and He put it in His holy scriptures that man should not adorn himself as a woman and likewise a woman should not adorn herself as a man.  Mankind tend to limit God when it comes to their understanding and beliefs.  There is NOTHING new under the sun as scripture states, but new to who?????  NOT God...because God IS.

So, yes...this conversation will continue until man dies to himself and truly commit ALL his ways to the Lord and the Lord will direct him...until then...there will always be contentions and disagreements, because no one want to believe in God and what God say in His Word.

Rev. Watson:  LOL as always

GOD:  NEXT

Someone:  Yes Lord

GOD:  Did you read my Word:?

Someone:  Huh?

GOD:  Why did you do what you wanted to do instead of reading my Word?  I saw that you know.

Someone:  Lord, was your plan of salvation based on my reading and obeying your word?

GOD:  Hmmmmm....that's a very good question.  Yes.  My plan of salvation is based on you based on you accepting Christ as Savior and believeing on His name and OBEYing my word.

Someone:  Lord, from the time I was saved, I did that and also did what I wanted to do when I felt it was right.

GOD:  You sure did.  Well you know you can't serve two masters, you either hate one or love the other.  What part of my words did you not want to understand and obey?  I said my words will not return to me void.  I didn't say some of my words.  I also said if you love me you will keep my commandments.  I also warned you that there were going to be many who say they obeyed and I would tell you: I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

Someone:  Oh Lord, forgive me...please forgive me, for I knew not what I was doing.

GOD: And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Someone:  I didn't know this Lord, please forgive me.

GOD:  I told you to study to show thyself approved.  If you had known my Words then you would have known me.

ME:  You know I could go on and on....I liked this....LOL

P.S.  And the Word of the Lord do not just focus on adorn ourselves, but that we must obey His word in order to live according to HIS will and we can't obey HIS word if we continue to obey our own words.!
