Microsoft "Ghetto App" Is It Racist?

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation donate billions of dollars to charities. They also donated over a billion dollars to the United Negro College Fund. They do excellent philanthropic work globally. This App don't represent their hard work.

Last week, Microsoft was awarded a patent for a feature on GPS devices. The feature, which will reportedly be part of future Windows phones, takes into account weather and crime statistics when suggesting routes for pedestrians. According to the patent filing, the technology will help a user avoid passing through an "unsafe neighborhood or being in an open area that is subject to harsh temperatures."

What we have here is a group of engineers that's Caucasian, Asian or Indian with an idea they felt would be helpful. They heard from white, Asian & Indian friends time & time again how they hate driving in unsafe communities. They may have even said black communities, but to be politically correct we're gonna say unsafe communities. It's the same folks that become very uncomfortable & alarmed when they see a black person they don't know in their domain, workforce, college or university. They have a Rolodex of upper class black friends that will vouch that they're not racist.

I have to admit, when you create a slogan called the Ghetto App, it do sound racist. It's not Bill Gates being racist, it's an engineer that's giving folks what they're asking for.

Someone didn't design this app & introduce it to the the world. They took a survey to see how many folks would use this app. Would this app make your life more simpler? It may have been suggested by customers.

It's sad, but when you're talking about unsafe communities, you mean black communities.

You may find this App racist, but Is it the App or the folks that want it? This is something minorities need to understand, I mean understand clearly, the new Microsoft App isn't designed for upper class black folks that wanna avoid the unsafe communities. It's designed for Caucasians, Asians, Indians & other minorities that want to avoid unsafe communities.

I heard a councilman call the App racist & he added that avoiding black communities will make it hard to build employment opportunities & economic opportunities in the black community. I agree, but the folks that embrace the App don't wanna build employment opportunities or economic opportunities in the black community. They just want to avoid being a victim. We are talking about black communities that haven't experienced any major development in decades. You want see a Microsoft manufacturing plant in the inner city, they would rather outsource that employment. To get back to the subject, Microsoft just need to change the Ghetto App slogan & people would be happy with the wording of the App.

I would love to hear the voice on the App.
"Sir, you are approaching a area with a very large population of nigg$$$, I mean unsafe community Sir." "Watch it App!" "I could have one of my black colleagues on the phone." "Sorry Sir," "But you told me when we where alone I could use the N word" "You are now three miles within distance of an unsafe community." "Please take caution & make sure your door is locked & your gun is off safety."

I can't imagine what the App would say coming into Cleveland, Ohio.

"Please take another exit, you are now approaching Cleveland, Ohio," the App say's.

"Yes, I know, Cleveland, Ohio is where I want to go," the driver say's.

"But Sir, you are approaching an unsafe area," the App say's.

"I can drive around, what part is unsafe?" the driver say's.

"What part Sir?" the App start lol.

"Yes, tell me what part has the unsavory black people & I will avoid that area." the driver say's.

"Sir, do you own a gat?" the App ask.

The driver laughs, "a what? "that's a good one App, I programmed you to good App."

"Sir, I'm an App I wasn't trying to be humorous," the App say's.

This may have nothing to do with Apps & I know I may have attempted a few jokes & I know I'm gonna piss off a few black folks off, but if you think about it, the customers for the App maybe a lot of racist Caucasians Asians, Indians & Middle Easterns & these are the same folks that do HIV, AIDS & Cancer Research at Universities & major hospital labs around the Globe, especially in America & places like Cleveland, Ohio. These are the Caucasians, Asians, Indians & Middle Easterns that feel very comfortable around each other & other than a few black folks that work for them or around them they see the rest as unsavory people & unintelligent. They may say, prove us wrong & do something to make us trust ya"ll. Well, most world wars was manufactured my Caucasians so what did Caucasians do to make Asians, Indians & Middle Easterns trust them??? Strange I know, but it's how I see it.
