BUSINESSMEN PASTORS
(I Tim 6:35; Isaiah 56:10, 11; 2:14): Description: Businessmen and
women who seek the ministry simply as avenue to make money. They
function as the chief executive officers of their churches. The
church is run with business principles. Their major emphasis is
money, finance, Prosperity, how to make it. They are in absolute
control of everything.
Basic Motive: Gain and profit. The programmes are targeted at how
much money is realised, using God, Church and Bible to make: money
arid personally enriching themselves.
Demerits: No heaven mindedness, disciples and godliness. They breed
Christians who are greedy of gain, profit oriented, thieves and
crooks. They engage in lying, fantastic promises and spurious
prophesies .They apportion church position to the highest bidder.
Prospects: True repentance, freedom from financial lucre and
restoration of balanced truth to the church. Business pastors have
brought much bad image to the church.

These people who open churches for the sake of personal gain are one of the MAIN "explanations" people give me for NOT having a church home or even having the desire to "assemble" in the church. There are far TOO many "churches" that have business based principles and are not teaching what thus said the Lord. There are churches (in my area...definitely) where you have to "APPLY" for membership, be subjected to a background check , submit a credit report, they issue monthly invoices for TITHES...excuse me?....A BILL FOR YOUR TITHES?? If your tithes aren't paid, then you aren't able to participate in ANY ministries (i.e...the choir, usher board etc.). What disturbs me is that within these same churches / congregations...the Pastors are NOT helping the flock. When there is a person who is in NEED of additional, one on one guidance, counseling or is having issues in their life and are looking for answers..the Business Pastors are far too busy to accomodate the needs of the followers UNLESS they make an appointment usually associated with a substantial FEE for their time.

I had a co-worker who attended a "MEGA CHURCH" here in Dallas (I won't mention the church name). This woman was the wife of one of the Associate Ministers. She was being HORRIBLY abused. She would come to work with TWO black eyes, fractured bones..you name it. She came in one day in such an awful condition that I advised her to call her Pastor. We went into my office and called on speaker phone. This..."Man of God"..."Leader"..."Pastor"..."Teacher"...told this woman to " Keep that Minister's personal business out of the church and not to call HIM trying to ruin the Associate Minister's REPUTATION"...EVERYTHING was wrong with THAT response. What happened to counseling? What happened to encouraging words? What happened to prayer? He told her to put on some sunglasses, sit down and be quiet! My prayers go out to these types of SO-CALLED leaders BECAUSE God is NOT pleased. He is NOT the author of confusion and he will NOT bless MESS! There is NO accountability, respect or responsibility in these types of congregations. They are no better than Jim Jones or David Koresh!
That is rediculous !!!
It has to happen that way. Think about it. If all churches were really giving the word of God then the Bible would be wrong. No matter how hard we try there will be people, churches, and groups who say one thing and do another. The thing we have to ask our selves is "how can we change it? What can we do to make a difference?" If you have no answer then I would move on to a topic that you can change.

Im not saying give up. Im just saying if you are going to focus your energy, focus it on somthing that will make a difference.
