As always you seem to bring reason to the topic. There are too many of these prosperity sermons that are leading people into a false sense of God's promises. In the scripute there is always something the believer must do to obtain favor, first is to believe, not that God is some kind of "Sugar Daddy" but that He is the Only Creator of the heaven and earth and He sent His Son to save us. We want the blessings and not the blessor, we want the cash and not the Creator.
Many people in our congregation are broke, and there is some leader standing up telling them to give X dollars and they would obtain X times more. That is not scripture that's a scam. The biblical way of obtaining more is through work.."if a man does not work he does not eat." God nor the church is a welfare system, it's a place of prayer and deliverance, it is not a money making machine, it's the House of God.
It is people like us who have to minister to those who have been hustled out of their hard earn money, by people who preach false prosperity and misuse scripture.

Amen...there was a church I was visiting and they have been attempting to build a church for five years. He said he prayed. For God to send all the people other churches didn't want now he says just send tithers only so he can build a church.that reminds me of the parable of the tares growing in the wheat field..the ones you throw away are the ones that will bless ...the nothing.gs turn out to be somebodies...

The scripture that states that God will make us the head, and not the tail, is located in Duet 28. There is condition for acheiving this. One must obey God by keeping his Law that is outlined in the book of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Duet. If you do not keep his commandments, then you will not be the head and not the tail. It is important that we keep scripture in proper context.

When you keep his law, then you will always be on top, and never be on the bottom. I encourage you to observe the blessings for keeping God's law, in Duet 28.

be blessed,
James
AMEN!
I FEEL THAT REGARDLESS OF WHAT I HAVE, I AM STILL THE HEAD, AND NOT THE TAIL. THE FACT OF WHEN THE ENEMY TRIED TO TAKE MY LIFE, AND GOD SAID NO, I WAS THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL. SO AS LONG AS I DO WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO. I HAVE REALIZED THAT JUST BECAUSE I MAY NOT HAVE AS MUCH AS THE NEXT OR DONT WAISTE MY MONEY ON WORLDLY THINGS DOESN'T MEAN IM BROKE, AND IT DOESN'T MEAN IM THE TAIL. I UNDERSTAND THAT BEING THE HEAD JUST ISN'T ABOUT MONEY, MY HEALTH IS GOOD, MY SON'S LIFE MAY HAVE BEEN SPARED, IM RICH IN SPIRIT,AND AS LONG AS GOD HAVE IT, I HAVE ACESS TO EVERYTHING I NEED. FOR EVERYTHING THERE IS A TIME AND A SEASON, AND IN ORDER FOR US TO RECEIVE IT WE HAVE TO BE IN POSITION. IF YOU WON A NEW CAR BUT YOU MOVED OUT OF STATE SWEETY YOU DON'T GET IT THATS WHY THE WORD SAYS THE STEPS OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN ARE ORDERED BY GOD.SOME PEOPLE HAVE MOVED BEFORE IT WAS TIME AND THEY HAVE MISSED IT.
Please allow me to put my 2 cents worth in this discussion. Many times Church folks are broke folks. When I look at the word broke I see a description of something dysfunctional - something has come apart - it doesn't work properly. I find that I must remind myself to seek the Kingdom of God and HIS righteousness from the beginning before I start anything. If I follow HIS plan for me I have "all these things added" to me simply because I checked in with him first. Every seed I plant is designed to bring forth fruit. If I follow God's plan including paying all my tithes and allowing God to speak to me about what offerings to give (what is righteous for me to give may not be righteous for you to give) and how to budget and what to budget and what HE requires of me, and then when I am obedient. I won't be broke anymore. I will be whole
Money is not the measure to a man or a women being whole. Look at sister Theresa. As far as money was concerned she had little. Was she not whole. Every interview I have ever read about her says she was complete. Those with money does that mean they are whole? Of course not. I think we all agree with that. The having money or not having money is not a way to measure a persons faith, wholeness, or anything else. How do you measure a man or women. By the fruits they bare.

of course money is not the measure of a person being whole. God cares more about how we can handle His business than that. God made provision for everyone, not just the haves. When I talk about wholeness I am talking about the entire person, not just one area of life. If you are talking about Mother Theresa, she took a vow of poverty and kept that vow. She decided to invest her life in the lives of others. She was a rich woman in that respect. She did not look at herself as being broke - because she was not. She functioned according to the way she was designed. Many times our problem is that we do not know what and who we are designed to be so we become dysfunctional. We leave God out of the equation. We begin to mismanage our lives - which can include our money. We are not measured by how much money we have but we are measured to some degree by how we use what we have.
Also, different things have different growing seasons and gestation periods. different people have different seasons. Some take longer than others to bring forth fruit - whatever that fruit is - whatever the investment.
True, but she traveled all expenses paid for! Not everyone can do such! What kinda Kingdom is a broke Kingdom?
What about those who are obedient and are broke? There are many.....!!!! It sounds good but cant hold water.
