Salvation is it eternal regardless of the circumstances or not come on lets get everyone’s opinion

But what is your take on what would have happened if the prodigal son or anyone who had received salvation backslides by rejecting the Father, His Son, the Holy Ghost and totally turned away from the faith and DIED without having repented or had the opportunity to return to the fold. Would that person be heading for hell or heaven? This is a conversation that came up with a couple of my work colleague when we were in an after discussion on Luke 15:11-32 so I would be interested in having a discussion and receiving everyone's point of view.

To suggest that Our gracious *LORD* gave a sop,(a token of love) to a man *HE* predestined to hell is a fearful thing even to hint at.

To implicate the character of *GOD* with anything else but perfection is so close to blasphemy in my book.

Go to *GOD* quickly and repent I`m suggesting to You in unfeigned love.

WITHOUT PARTIALITY,WITHOUT HYPOCRISY.FOREKNOWLEDGE YES OF COURSE BUT NEVER INSINCERE IN ACTION, A LOATHESOME HINT INDEED.!

AS IT IS NOT *GODS* WILL THAT ANY PERISH BUT THAT ALL TURN UNTO *HIM* AND LIVE. (THOUGH THEY WONT AS WE KNOW.).!

Moses implicated *GOD* in his impatience ( rebels, must `WE` bring you water out of the rock, striking it twice.) and it cost him big time.

To temp a man is impossible with *GOD*.

You may  frustrate *HIS* grace YES!  but not frustrate or annoy OUR ALL KNOWING *GOD*,grieve, quench his Spirit, even stir up holy wrath but always outworked in merciful judgement not dealing with us according to our transgressions HALLELU*JAH* TO *JESUS* ,LOVE *YOU* *LORD* AMEN,BE MAGNIFIED.

Edwin maybe you need to give us an indication of who or what you are responding to

NOT INTERESTED IN POINTING THE FINGER ,LETS JUST PREACH THE WORD.

AND STAY CLEAN.!

Heb 9:14,10:10 & 22.

PRESUMPTION IS A SIN OF THE SPIRIT.

BEWARE.

"Presumption is a sin of the spirit" I agree we should not presume some things but please provide Book, Chapter, and Verse please LOL

Can we seperate ourselves from God you say no but I say yes

Amen

Yes exactly I did that walking away thing at one time. I wanted to see what life was really like> dumb, I have done some incredibly dumb things in life, but that by far was the dumbest. I accepted Christ when I was very young and had experienced some things in the Spirit, but very little? Anyway leaving even for a half a day is really dumb. The hope is we can learn, but I wonder?

It is not just "dumb" it is a death sentence. I thank God you did not die in that state and are able ot share your testimony today.

I have always had this little annoying problem with Paul where he said women will be saved in child birth?

hmmmm

Dont worry sister I just this week had one of those cleared away after 38 years.

Just follow on to know the *LORD*. And sincere praise will help keep your vows,Ps 61.

Eph. 2:8 tells us that we are saved by Grace, through our faith. Because of our faith, in His Grace God does the following. He -

  • Sends His Spirit to live within us
  • Continually wills us to act according to His good purpose
  • Gives us a new, soft heart so that we will respond to His guidance
  • Strengthens us so that we are able to obey Him

It's plain to see that apart from God's Grace no one can be saved from their sin. Without God guiding us, encouraging us, giving us a new heart and strengthening us to follow Him, we would all be lost. However, even though we are clearly saved by God's Grace, we are not totally free of responsibility. We have an obligation to live according to the Spirit as Rom. 8:12-14, 17 tell us:

  • v.12 "Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation - but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
  • v.13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
  • v.14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."

Notice that in v.13 there are two ways in which we can live. We can live according to our sinful nature and die or we can live according to the Spirit and live. Next, v.14 tells us that those who are led by the Spirit are sons of God and "if we are children, then we are heirs" (v.17). It naturally follows that if we aren't led by the Spirit, but by our sinful nature, then we are not children of God and not heirs to eternal life.
Being led by the Spirit is simply responding to the Spirit's conviction and confessing/repenting whenever we are convicted. In His Grace, God has made it possible for us to obey His command to live a righteous life and 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins we will be forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness. 1 John 3:7 tells us, "He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous," so it is up to each of us to do what is right and follow the Holy Spirit's leading if we want to inherit eternal life.
