ARE YOU A FALSE PROPHET? IF SO WOE UNTO YOU. PROPHET OR PROPHETESS WAS NEVER MEANT AS A TITLE.

I was recently in a church meeting and a False Prophet seem to have a word for everyone. She told one young lady who was thought to be pregnant that the child in her womb was a blessed woman of God and was going to do big things for God. This was after the girl told her that the baby was a girl.

A couple of months later the young woman got up and confessed in front of the church that she never was pregnant and that she had lied about the whole pregnancy. Does this make the prophet a false prophet.

The bible says, in the last days many false prophets shall arise. Are you a false prophet. How can you tell. What does the bible say about false prophet?

* Jeremiah 14:14 KJV

Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought , and the deceit of their heart.

* Lamentations 2:14 KJV

Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity ; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

* Matthew 7:15 KJV

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

* Matthew 24:11 KJV

And many false prophets shall rise , and shall deceive many.

* Matthew 24:24 KJV

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

* Mark 13:22 KJV

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise , and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce , if it were possible, even the elect.

* Luke 6:26 KJV

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

* 2 Peter 2:1 KJV

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

* 1 John 4:1 KJV

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

TRUE PROPHETS OF GOD DIDN'T TITLE THEMSELVES WITH PROPHET THIS OUR THAT. PROPHET OR PROPHETESS WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE A TITLE TO USE AND PUT ON STATIONARY AND BUSINESS CARDS. THIS IS NONSENSE. JEZEBEL WAS REFERRED TO AS "AND SHE CALLED HERSELF A PROPHETESS". FALSE PROPHETS BEWARE AS YOU DON'T WANT TO CALL THE WRATH OF GOD DOWN ON YOURSELF.

This blog is referencing modern day false prophets because the bible warned us that in the Last Days many false prophets shall arise. So many are using this title or gift of prophecy to elevate themselves in the eyes of the people. It is rare that these people have a true word from God. They mostly talk about blessings, season, break through and harvest to congregations full of people living in sin.

My former pastor prophesied to a young man and gave him a word directly from God. God spoke through my pastor and said, If you don't give your life to Jesus today you will be dead within seven days. God warned this young man through the mouth of my pastor. This young many rejected Jesus and said that he wasn't ready yet. This prophecy went forth on a Sunday evening. The young man was shot and killed in the streets of Detroit the following Saturday. He died on the seventh day just as the word of the Lord said.

So forgive me if I am not impressed by blanket prophesies that have not substance and are merely the rantings of someone trying to display the power of God. Anyone can shout to a large group of people and say that God has a blessing and a miracle for you or that that thing that you've been praying for is going to happen. God's prophets were precise because God is precise.

We have to beware also of diviners and familiar spirits as well. All of these flamboyant soothsayers can't always be counted as God's prophets. I know some real prophets and they are the most low key people I know. Since God has warned of false prophets in this day I am on watch for them. I don't fear prophets I fear God. These people need to fear as well and stop playing with the Lord.
No, Nathan did not lie to David. He just personally agreed with his move and figured GOD was with it.
No that was a lie, personnaly agreeing doesn't loose the fact that his confirmation was FALSEHOOD.......................
It was NOT a lie. He did not say "GOD said you can do this or that". He simply blessed it and felt in HIS heart that GOD was with the plan also.

Quote the verse and see.
But GOD didn't say it so that makes it a falsehood, correct?

It didn't come too pass as he said so that makes it false.
A false statement, but not a lie. It was a total misunderstanding of the plans of GOD, but that does not make it a lie. He never said "GOD said this or that", only then would it have been a lie.
It doesn't matter, if he said GOD or not. The fact GOD told him too go back and say something else, proves it must have been a LIE
This is true to a certain extent. There SOMETIMES is no need to declare one's gifting or office. HOWEVER, 1) if I call for the cat, I don't expect the dog to come. if I call for Bob, why is Jack answering for him? If I need a Prophet, will I UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED BY GOD, call for an Evangelist or a Pastor? Samuel the Seer announced himself as such to Saul. Jesus not only announced Himself as the Prophet, but as the Son of GOD. Why? Not because of arrogance, but simply because it was true!, 2) such comments are RARELY ever told to Pastors or Bishops as I stated. The Pastor Bishop or any office for that matter has a great effect on the lives of believers as well. Why the fear of the Prophet? Yes he/she is the mouthpiece of GOD, so why hinder him or her from using the GOD-given title? The true damage is is the fear and the ignorance of the Prophetic, for history has proven the false Teachers and false Evangelists have done far more damage simply because people fear Prophets too much to let them get near enough to have any effect, be it good or bad. When Samuel came to Bethlehem, the elders of the town saw him from a far off and said "come you peaceably?" They wouldn't have had such an issue wit the Evangelist or the Pastor. No, what they woulda done was give them a platform.

If a person claims the Prophetic, then examine them prophetically. They are either telling the truth and mature in the office, a liar, mistaken, or telling the truth yet immature in the office. If mature in the office, the Amos 3:7-8, Hosea 12:10,13, and 2nd Chronicles 20:20 are to be kept in mind. If a liar, then disregard them. If mistaken, then help them understand who they really are (prophetic, but not in the office). If immature, then they simply need training. This will however not be able to be done or even known if what I said earlier is not regarded: The way to recognize the real Prophet is to STUDY and RESPECT the Prophetic ministry and anointing.

Not being impressed by false Prophets or immature Prophets is not a good enough reason to slow down or diminish the Prophetic office in any way shape or form. The truth of the matter is this: the title of Prophet, or Seer is a valid title to use. There is absolutely no Biblical support for such claims. However, there are plenty of PERSONAL claims being made here. If thats the case then ok. Place the same limitations on the Apostles Pastors Bishops and every other office.

I understand that your main focus was supposed to be false Prophets, however you and almost everyone else that addresses this problem, have ALSO added the real Prophets of GOD within this realm. Truth be told, the only difference between a Prophet of GOD, and a medium, star reader, soothsayer, necromancer, and every other kind of false Prophet out there is this: They do not serve YAHWEH, the Living GOD the FATHER and His Son , Jesus.

The Prophetic gifts are given to them to serve GOD with, however they choose not to. Interestingly enough, truth Prophets are to be doing some of the things that false Prophets are practicing. The reason why they don't in today's time is simple: they're too traditional for the Kingdom of GOD, and too spiritual in their own mind of righteousness and power in the Holy Ghost to actually understand what the Prophetic power of GOD is all about and how deep it can stretch.
Adrian Lamar West Sr., you said:

You totally miss the pint of what a lie is. A lie is something that twists the truth. Until the LORD spoke to him, the truth of the matter was NOT present to refute the Prophet's claims. They had nothing to go by other than zeal. When GOD spoke, their zeal now was given focus and a direction. Had they said anything other than what GOD said from that point would have been a lie.
Plain and simple it was a lie, a lie is a false statement period
