Over the years, I have heard many men and women in the holiness denominations say that women shouldn't wear pants in the church.

Were is the scripture to support the ideology that women shouldn't wear pants? If it is in scripture then I would have to ask why are men wearing pants? Did men wear pants in biblical times or did their wear something that covered their loins and then long robe like attire? I mean isn't that what you depict in your biblical plays? So why aren't the men being asked to wear similar apparel in the church to maintain a outward appearance of holiness? Why aren't they asked to not cut their hair (both facial and head)

What are the clothing designations for men in the holiness denominations.

After all, without holiness NO man/woman shall see God.....

The Folopa people in Papua New Guinea are celebrating having God's Word in their language, see if what they are wearing or lack thereof will even make it through the front doors of our "cherch"...

Funny I didn't see any gators on anyone's feet..... LOL
Funny I didn't see any gators on anyone's feet..... LOL

you are too funny!!!

Thank's for posting............... Every Culture is Different...!!!
AND LET THE CHURCH SAY... AMEN... my point exactly.

We are toooooo Americanized and churchy... no wonder people run from the "church".

I'm not saying just accept any old thing. But when you become more legalistic you miss the point of the law....
Amen Min. Tracy, these folx are just glad and rejoicing for the first time in their history to know that their souls have been redeemed and they no longer have to atone for their sins by sacrificing animals any longer. For the first time in the year of 2008 they have God's Word.........And He speaks to them in their language....How powerful is that? Since their language has never been respected by the oppressor of that French speaking country. Were speaking of minority languages. Why we are moving from being successful to being SIGNIFICANT in going. I can't take this american gospel no longer, I want my children to see God in a more powerful way.
These Africans waited for ages literally to have God's Word in their language, for they believe if God's Word is in their language, He therefore can hear their prayers in their own language as well...... Who cares how they are dressed..

Its the simple Gospel of Christ that transforms us all.
Honestly, most people who are adamant about women not wearing pants in church won't change from that paradigm. Whether they are misinterpreting the scriptures or misunderstanding culture is neither here nor there.

My main point behind all of this is while you focus on changing the person's outside... their inside is remaining the same. And since man looks at the outside but God looks at the heart... I just choose to renew my mind to the mind of Christ and look at a person's heart before all else.

The beautiful thing about America is that it is a MULTI-CULTURAL ... culture. We forget that we are a melting pot. Take out your dollar bill and you will see the American Eagle and the words:

"E PLURIBUS UNUM", meaning "one nation from many" THIS is our culture as Americans.

But what is our culture as Believers??? Though we are many in Christ we are one body....
Praise the Lord.!!!!.. The Gospel of Jesus Christ Must get to Everyone....that is thirsty for the Word!!! and it's happening... and that's what really matter.....Souls being Saved!!!
Hey Min. Busby, notice how the name came before the title??? Hmmmnnnnnn
The name Paul...

The who "a servant of Christ Jesus",

The what " called to be an apostle"

The why "set apart for the gospel of God...."

Good point Scott!!!

Hey how's the family? I'm glad you decided to stick around BPN my brotha.

Iron sharpens iron (smile)

Did you want us all to get dull around here!!! LOL
Min. Busby you did nuffin' wrong, was just looking more deeply at that verse you chose to put up. Check Peter out.

1Pe 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect who are sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Peter who was the most rebuked out of all the Disciples by Christ by having "foot in mouth" disease when he was young. Even rebuked by Paul as well. Some say by the time Peter wrote the book first Peter he was in his 90's. I'm just noticing such a humbleness of those who were serious about their walk with Christ. Peter wrote the most about God's grace, His loving grace towards Him who denied Him three times. I'm just in a mood today of being in His grace and what all that entails. Jesus always see's the final result even where we are right now, since He's the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the ending. What better example we have in Peter who's mind was so transformed by the resurrection of Christ, that He dedicated His whole life even to HIs death on the cross as He was too crucified upside down for he didn't feel worthy to be crucified as His Lord and Savior was...Even in death. Even in Him being sent to die he was conscious enough of God's grace upon his life. To me that is dilligently seeking Him.
LOL Min. Tracy cause I'm a procrastinator by nature (oh wretched man 'dat I am), and I know since your here as well as others I don't feel the need to say "ditto" all 'da time.

My iron right now is a little on the dull side anyways...LOL
amen brother Leigh, trust I needed that prayer today...:)
