SALVATION IS A GIFT OF GOD: YOUR OWN GOOD WORKS CAN NEVER SAVE YOU!

Brother ozell adams,

I realize that you need to be taught.

Indeed to "endure unto the end" means to "stand firm".

Let us read the Holy scriptures:

“All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved”.

Matthew 10:22

Our Lord was addressing His Disciples.

We have to stand firm or to endure because all men will hate us because of Him.

Salvation is a gift.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

Romans 6:23

According to you what is a gift?

If it is on the basis of your merit that you are saved, then salvation is no longer a gift.

In addition, God would have given His only begotten Son in vain (John 3:16)?

Salvation is a gift of God; it does not depend on your own good works.

It is by grace that we have been saved, through faith. This not from ourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

If someone is really saved he/she will bear good fruits for a good tree bears good fruits.

Indeed, the Bible declares:

“Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them”.

Matthew 7:20

First, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and then the consequence of that is the good works for “faith without deeds is useless”. Good works are faith expressed.

This is the reason why I fully agree with the following biblical verses you've quoted:

James 2:20: "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"

James 2:26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also".

There is no contradiction in the Bible. Brother James and Brother Paul had the same Spirit and they taught the same truth.

Salvation is a gift of God.

Those who are saved should produce good works. Not the works according to their own opinion or theology, but as God's workmanships, created in Christ Jesus, they should do good works, which God prepared in advance for them to do. Amen!

Brother, what you call good works according to your theology may not seem good to God (1 Corinthians 13: 1-3, Isaiah 58).

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do".

Ephesians 2:10

Indeed, those who are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and do good works according to God’s will should stand firm or endure because all men will hate them because of Jesus Christ.

To "endure unto the end" means to "stand firm".

They do not endure in order to be saved, but they endure because they are saved.

“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

1 Peter 5:8-9

Those who are saved are asked to resist the devil, standing firm in the faith because the Bible says:

“If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin, he will die for it; because of the sin he has committed he will die. 27 But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life. 28 Because he considers all the offenses he has committed and turns away from them, he will surely live; he will not die”.

Ezekiel 18: 26-28

However, if someone truly believes in Jesus Christ, she/he will never give up, no matter the troubles or problems she/he meets in his/her life.

Yes, him who is truly holy will continue to be holy till the end of his life on Earth.

“Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

Revelation 22:11

Likewise, him who is truly saved will continue to be saved till the end of his life.

Those who are truly saved by faith and do good works according to God’s will will always stand firm or endure till death.

They are saved by faith, and they always endure or stand firm in faith. They resist the Devil till death.

If you are not saved first by Jesus Christ by faith, how can you manage to stand firm or resist to the devil?

Indeed, the Bible declares:

“Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God”.

2 Corinthians 3: 4-5

This is the truth!

Can a man deserve salvation? No, it is a gift of God!

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.

Romans 5:8

Can you your own works save you?

No!

Our competence comes from God!

First, we are saved by grace through faith, then God Himself gives us the spiritual armor in order to stand firm, to resist the devil till the end of our life.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints”.

Ephesians 6: 10-18

Yes, Our competence comes from God!

” for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous”.

“I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread”.

Psalm 37: 17; 25

“ A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all”

Psalm 34:19

Amen! Amen! Amen!

Where is our merit? Nowhere!

Jesus Christ is all for us.

“I can do everything through him who gives me strength”

Philippians 4:13

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”.

Galatians 2:20

Yes, Our competence comes from God!

Yes, Our competence comes from Jesus Christ! Amen!

Now, brother ozell adams , let me show you something:

The Bible declares:

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory”.

Ephesians 1: 13-14

"...Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession..."

If you truly believe in Jesus Christ and you are marked with a seal, namely the Holy Spirit, you are saved forever, you can never lose salvation.

Why?

Simply because the Holy Spirit is a deposit guarantee of your inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession.

UNTIL THE REDEMPTION!

Amen! Amen! Amen

This is the truth!

Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you have believed?

If yes, then the Bible says that you are saved forever!

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption”.

Ephesians 4:30

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Revelation 3:22

Bro. Germain

Germain,

FAITH AND WORKS
True faith produce good works. You dont work to faith.
Rev,

Thats really not the point. The real point is that once you have received faith, then your obedience plays an ultimate role in your salvation.
Explain to me "recieved faith"? I wasnt aware that its something you recieve but something you have then increase.
Rev,

What i exactly mean is once you have faith in Yeshua, then obedience to Torah should follow out. But, it depends on YOUR OWN STUDY, and also, if you do not study, on who teaches you. You cannot get around the fact that you NEED both faith and works for salvation. Not to receive it, but after your conversion.
Is works needed for salvation? Or is faith needed for salvation?
faith and works(James 2)
I'm familiar with what the scriptures says, but I also noticed what you said at the bottom of your last post and I think that cleared it up for me. "Not to receive it, but after your conversion."
Rev,

Great, just as long as you realize that you CANNOT have faith absent from Torah(works), and vice versa.
I will just post what the inspired word of God says and let the readers make up their own minds. For we all should become just as God word says;

Rom. 14
[5] "....Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."
[12] So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

And here is what God said we would be judged by:

Jas.2
[14] What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
[17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
[18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
[20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
[21] Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
[22] Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
[24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
[25] Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
[26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Rev.20
[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
[13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Seems pretty simple to me!!
Pierce,

Saul was educated at the feet of Gamaliel. Saul was a Pharisee.

However Saul has been converted and was no longer a Pharisee.

Of course Saul was educated by man before his conversion.

However, there is differentiation to be made between SAUL and PAUL.

Brother PAUL was an Apostle sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead(Galatians 1:1).

So, it’s preposterous to say that Paul was more educated than James.

Brother Paul and Brother James taught the Word of God by revelation from the Lord Jesus.

There is no contradiction between Bro. Paul and Bro. James, because they were inspired by the same Holy Spirit.

How do you understand the following phrase: Faith AND Works are also needed for salvation?

Brother, can your good works produce faith in you?

Can a work produce faith? No!

For example, can a fruit produce a tree? No!

First, you must have a true faith that comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17),

Consequently, you will be able to produce good works according to God's will.

Those good works are the evidence that you have received the true faith.

The truth faith precedes the true works, so good works are faith expressed.

If you are a good tree, then you will be able to produce good fruit. The tree precedes the fruit.

We are saved by faith and that faith produces good works.

So, one can not say that she/he has got the true faith if she/he is not able to prove it by good works which are the obliged consequence of the true faith.

We are saved by faith which produces good works.

The good works should not be the works according to my own theology or my own opinion, but they should be the result, the consequence of my true faith in Christ.

Brother, please, tell me, if someone is not transformed by the renewing of his mind, can he be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will(Romans 12:12?

Can the so-called good works of that man save him? (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)? No!

Indeed, the Bible declares:

“7the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. 9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ”.

Romans 8:7-9

Before producing good works, one must receive first the Spirit of God.
Before producing good works, one must receive faith in Christ and the Spirit of Christ.
If do not have the Spirit of Christ, you do not belong to Christ, thus you can not please God by your so called good works.

First, the Spirit of God should live in you, and then the result of it will be your good works according to God’s will.

But which kind of work?

Not good works according to your theology or your own will, but, “…good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do…”

“For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”.

Ephesians 2:10

Brother Paul teaches that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ. Salvation is a gift of God.

As for Brother James, he teaches that if you assert that you do have the true faith which saves the believers in Christ; your good works should prove it.

In other words, the EVIDENCE, the proof of your faith, the very thing that proves that you have received the true faith IN CHRIST which saves you is your good works.

So good works are faith expressed.

True faith precedes good works.

We do not try to do good works in order to have true faith.

For example, we do not try to do good works in order to have the Spirit of God.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness”

Galatians 5:22

“Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them ».

Matthew 7:17-20

You must be a good tree before being able to bear good fruit.

You can never try to bear good fruit by your own means in order to become a good tree.

So, Good works are faith expressed!

There is no contradiction between Bro. Paul and Bro. James.

They were watered by the same Holy Spirit and they taught the same truth.

Blessings,

Bro. Germain

Germain,

Saul was educated at the feet of Gamaliel. Saul was a Pharisee. However Saul has been converted and was no longer a Pharisee.

Acts 23:6,"Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees." Paul said this wayy AFTER his conversion to faith in Yeshua.

How do you understand the following phrase: Faith AND Works are also needed for salvation? Brother, can your good works produce faith in you? Can a work produce faith? No! For example, can a fruit produce a tree? No!

Your works(Torah obedience) are EVIDENCE of your TRUE faith. You cannot have works without faith, and you cannot have faith without works. They must go together. The word says WORK out your salvation with fear and trembling. How does one do that? It is by keeping Torah(1 John 5:3)

Brother, please, tell me, if someone is not transformed by the renewing of his mind, can he be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will(Romans 12:12? Can the so-called good works of that man save him? (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)? No!

First off, you cannot ask me a question, and then YOU answer it. That just shows how ridiculous you are. Second, how does one renew their mind exactly. Joshua 1:8 gives us that answer. It is by the daily study of his word, so that we can be careful to do his Torah, and strengthen our faith in Yeshua. I already answered your second question.
