Can someone please show me in the Bible where this is permitted and explain the text?
Truly, I have been inspired by all of the comments and insight that have come from many of you!! I wanted to open a discussion that would stir the hearts and minds of many and I did. I can see that it is man vs woman and should not be. My question still remains,,,about Women Bishops!!!! The Bible does not co-sign this. I really believe we all are hung on titles. Whatever you do,,,do it all in the name of Jesus. I wanted to make some points and say some things, so that it would stir your knowledge up and cause you to proclaim what you believe. I can say,,,I have walked into many churches,,,and without sayiing a word or opening my mouth,,,,how can these men detect, discern, or sense that God has a call on my life. AND,,,WHAT, call is that? Glory be to God,,,you see many of us should make sure that our scripture references that we are using to back up your point,,,is not contextual customed to fit in your box of beliefs. My statement to this was about,,,women Bishops,,,and I for one don't agree with the TITLE,,,but I believe that a woman can teach the Gospel,,,and if the HOOP is naturally in her when she delievers,,,then hoop. Whether you want to call it style,,,whatever,,,,we all have our style. So,,if I come to some of your churches,,,I can get turned off by even the way some you hoop or TEACH. Everyone is voicing their beliefs. This is a very sensitive topic,,,and women we must make sure we are wise virtuous women,,,one thing is for sure,,,we are MASTERs at multitasking. If God,,,called you to Sunday School, Evangelist,Prophet, then you must remain a help at home. Men,,,i believe if your wife works, has to take care of kids,,,and does servant service to her local Ministry,,,it just WONT kill you to assist her at home. This is one statement that needs constant understanding and research. Our prayer should be that the LORD will enlighten and reveal to us his truth,,,NOT YOUR OPINION or CONVINCING. You see,,he that wins a soul is wise. We must make sure we ALL speak wisely. God Bless You All And thanks for the replies and the most of all THE WORD!!

Ok, I got the name wrong,

The text said,,,,Deborah being a Prophetess, led the children of Israel. My point is she WAS a leader. I am sorry,,,,I still believe in women Evangelists and Preachers,,,,,and the like. I am sorry for you men that have traditional outlooks on women. Yep, we are to be keepers at home,,,but if the Lord has a call to Minister on your life,,,,DO IT! I mean,,,,where would church be without the WOMAN,,,,,,THE MEN SURE AINT COMING,,,,You talk about fruit,,,,Where is the fruit from the men,,,at least I can say,,,,the woman is TRYING,,,to have some kiind of effect on the body of christ.
Altha Fugett a woman "EVANGELIST" says:

"if God has called me to be an Evangelist..."

Sister, God that I serve never changes His ways! Amen

You may not agree with me, But know that I'm preaching the truth to you!

Indeed, a woman "senior Pastor" said that “Jesus issued His first gospel commission to women (see Matt. 28:1-10)”

Please, tell me, can commission issued to women make them Pastors or Evangelists? No!

For example, can we assert that the Samaritan woman was a Pastor an Evangelist (John 4: 28-30)?

I don’t think so! Admittedly she was not sent by Jesus but she also made a testimony concerning Jesus-Christ.

Please, Show me in the Bible where a woman has been called an Evangelist or a Pastor!

Please show me!!!

In the Bible, Philippe (A MAN) was the only one who has been called “EVANGELIST” expressly:

« Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the EVANGELIST, one of the Seven.”

Acts 21:8

Timothy (A MAN) as for him was exhorted to make work of an EVANGELIST:
« But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry”.

2 Timothy 4:5

Moreover, the Overseer or the Bishop of an assembly must be a MAN:

“Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the HUSBAND of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.”

1 Timothy 3:1-7

“The reason I left you in Crete was that you might straighten out what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. An elder must be blameless, the HUSBAND of but one wife, a MAN whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless - not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.”

Titus 1:5-9

In Israel were there women among the descendants of Levi who became priests? No!
“Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people - that is, their brothers - even though their brothers are descended from Abraham. This MAN, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater. In the one case, the tenth is collected by MEN who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living. One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham”.

Hebrews 7:5-9

Let me tell you that God was against and He is still against women being overseers and holding authority over men. AMEN!

The prophets established by God in the church belong to the five ministries (Ephesians 4:11). The gift of prophecy is one of the nine gifts of the Spirit (1Corinthians 12).

In the Old Testament, are mentioned the prophetess Miriam (Exodus 15), the prophetess Deborah (Judges 4), the prophetess Hulda (2 Kings 22), the prophetess to whom Isaiah went (Isaiah 8:3) and so on.

In the New Testament we can mention the prophetess Anna (Luke 2: 36-38).

But none of those women has become an Overseer in the church. Anna was not a Teacher or an Overseer; she never left the temple though. She worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Can we insinuate that Anna was an Overseer because she never left the temple? No! Anna knew her place in the church. She interceded to support the work of God. Women, this is what you must do instead of running towards the Pulpit. Please leave the pulpit; it’s not your place!

Your duty is to pray, to intercede night and day in order to support the men of God as Priscilla and Aquila did aside Paul.

Woman’s place is behind.

For example, the Bible declares that “After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Cuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.”

Luke 8:1-3

Tell me, were the women who followed Jesus and supported His work by their own means Overseers or Apostles in a sense equivalent to that of the twelve?

Yes, woman’s place is behind!

All those women never hold authority over men, they new their role, their place in the church.

All that belongs to God’s salvation plan was revealed to the prophets and apostles (Ephesians 3:5; Revelation 10:7).

The Ministries and the gifts must be placed correctly in their divine order and left in their place.

Blessings,

John 13:33
Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

The God I serve is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, his mercies are new each and every day, with all your ranting you still did not mention by whose authority you tell me not to evangelize or preach the gospel.

I declare right now until you display the fruit of humility! and respect for your sisters in Christ, for that is what we are, you will always find yourself on the back burner you are not ready for anything else yet.
Well,

since women make up the church,,,then that may be why she is Pastoring! All of this is good!
when ever the bible talked about a Pastor it always saids a man, is man for both?, For years women always wanted to do things men do for some reason, men play basketball and guess what? Women wanna play basketball, men in the army; women wanna be in the army, Its like this is a competiton, I always say Micheal Jordan is the best basketball player that ever played the game, but goodness greatous, Are women and men fighting to see who the best is "Childish", To answer your question God didn't mention women as Pastors, but always mention them as helpmeets, to obey husband and to submit to authority and be keepers at home,

In his word it don't say no smoking, so do I smoke? No, somethings God has already revealed what he want mankind to do and didn't put every thing in there.
and Adam did what? (rolleyes)
Yes there is, but it depends upon what you are being obeidient to

Key words in your statement "Thats a good question,"
Rev. James, there is literally no such word as "helpmeet". Thats an age-old traditional term that is taken TOTALLY out of context. The term was "a help, meet for him", indicating that Adam's help would be suitable and equal to him in certain areas. They would counter-parts, balancing each other. You cannot pull out something inferior and call it suitable counter-part. There is no balance.

When GOD blessed them HE told THEM be fruitful and multiply and have dominion in Genesis 1. In Chapter 5, HE called them Adam indicating that though we see differences in each other truly "there is neither bond nor free, Jew nor Greek, male nor female, for all are one in Christ". The curse of the law was that men would dominate women. I thought JESUS lifted the curse with HIS blood, so why do you still place your thumb on their head pushing them down instead of lifting them up? If men ought to love their wives just as Christ loved the Church, then why are we not giving them authority? Christ gave us authority making us to have dominion over all creation, meanwhile you say "get back in the kitchen woman".

Apostle TTG
I've BEEN one, you just never read my profile bro!
So many titles?? What are you reading??? You sound ignorant for even placing that comment up there. If I were "title happy", you would've seen things like "Chief Apostle & Presiding Prelate", "Prophet to the nations" or something else for a name, but instead all I place there is "Trevor Greene". If anything, I'm blessed to be available to people in different ways. Paul claimed the offices of Apostle, Teacher & Evangelist, but you wouldn't say that about him though, would you? I do all the things that I placed up there.

Thanks for the invite to the show, but no thanks.....
Thats sounds like a child's dare! LOL!!! We used to call each other out to fight back in the day like that! Declining a fight made you look like a punk in front of the guys, but declining a fight didn't necessarily mean that you were scared of losing either. You aren't the first interview I declined and you won't be the last, be it for promotional reasons, or debates, because I am not here for either one. Go on your TV and tell them I said that also, because bad press to some is FREE advertisement to others! LOL

Also, you said Shaul was proven. True, but Saul was also doubted even after substantial proof was given. There are folks even to this day that say Paul went against James and Christ himself. Do I teach or counsel or prophesy to you? Am I your Apostle? if not, then my proof need not be to you modern day Pharisees, but to the people that need me.
Ok, let's make sure we are not being prejudice or have respect of persons. Women work,,,so can you explain that. I mean you all say "Women should be keepers at home" well Men,,get up and get a decent job where she can be a keeper at home. Yes, women do,,,what women do because THEY want to went it comes to society involvement, but we are not talking about that. You may as well leave that arguement that is done and over with. We are talking about WOMEN LEADING in the church.
