It is my concern that we as "Christians" Need to define better, what God said in the bible, and what man says about the bible.

Ask yourself?

Is the bible the inerrant Word of God? Does God change His Word! Have Christians changed God's Words and Taught erroneous Doctrine to those who have not read the Torah(First five books of the bible) in a bible they really can understand , in the language they speak; to compare what they have been taught by preachers, teachers, evangelists ????????????????

In other words " it's his own interpretation"

Yall be blessed
Dr,

The problem here is that you are speaking with much emphasis on what the Sages and Rabbis have said. If they have a definition opposite of what the written Torah states about Torah, then we ought not to listen to them. The bible gives us a clear on what we ought to do on the Sabbath, and that is rest from our jobs. That is thee primary definition of the Sabbath--rest from work.

Many of the Rabbis & Sages redefined the Sabbath, which is evident in the Mishnah, Talmud, and other Rabbinic writings. Often times it contradicts the written Torah. I have seen modern Rabbinic laws stating that you cannot even answer the telephone, or ride an elevator on the Sabbath. This is just not Yahweh's word. You cannot heal on the Sabbath. Thats just not Yahweh's word.
Preach Son!
Brother James

I am not placing credence on what the Sages and Rabbis said. I am merely telling you that you will not find this defined in the Torah. I am with you, ok!

Brenice
Dr,

Its in there. Simply to rest from your work.
See they couldn't keep it then, for this very display, that is why Jesus said "it is done" the veil ripped and we have rest in Jesus.

James, don't ever let anyone keep you from answering the phone
Evan,

Yahweh said its possible to keep it(Duet 30:11), and they kept it, but many did not keep it. When Yeshua said it is finished, He is not saying that its now ok to break the Sabbath, or the Torah, but rather the redemptive work has been completed.
Oh amen... I'm still trying to understand Evangelist... how can we keep the 9 and disregard the 1 commandment?
alright, however can you see how far ones can go with it. I'm sure Dr. feels strongly about what he/she feels, but it simply is not there, he added to it.

James I understand, legalism is hard to deal with, I am one of those as you, show me in the Word of God"

and seeing

John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

was enough for me

Be Blessed
Evan,

James I understand, legalism is hard to deal with, I am one of those as you, show me in the Word of God"

and seeing

John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Yeshua did not give us a new commandment. The word "new" was an addition of man. Im sure you are familiar with textual criticism. How can Yeshua give us a new commandment to love one another when Leviticus 19:18 says,"you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord."?????????
lol... thanx brother...
Romans 2

13] (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

So it will be those that do the Law that will be justified. Now just what is this law Paul speaks of?

[16] In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
[17] Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,
[18] And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;
[19] And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness,
[20] An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
[21] Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
[22] Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
[23] Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

If the law was nailed to the cross, then what is being spoken of above? Paul keeps using the term ‘law’! Steal, adultery, murder, idols…these are all things contained in the law! The one most say was nailed to the cross. Remember, this letter from Paul is to the Romans…Gentiles! How is it he is asking them how they can be teachers of these things and yet commit these acts if the law was nailed to the cross and they are no longer to be held to them?

Rom.2
[22] Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
[23] Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God?

Now how can they break a law that has been nailed to Christs' cross? Simple....only ONE set of laws was nailed to his cross... The Sacrificial Laws!!!

ALL of the others still stand!!!
