Do Christian women have a right to dress sexually provocative and say that the brothers need to control themselves? Can we truly dress how we want to dress?

Many young women wear this during church services, in the choir and doing their so called praise dances.

It is my believe that we are not to become a stumbling block for our brothers. Many sisters are quoted as saying that is his problem if he can’t contain his lust and we already know that some men’s minds are going to go where they are going to go.

According to the following scripture can a woman truly excuse her sexual dress and provocative behavior. Should a Christian woman wear anything that may cause her brother to fall.

For the record I am not talking about brothers who would be tempted by anything walking but those who struggle daily because of being exposed to underdressed women, media overexposure and so on.

It is really something how things are justified in our churches today. Old mothers aren't that way anymore with the big white sheets. They are more like enablers and pacifiers. Nobody wants to rock the boat and don't realize that they are sending children right into the hands of Satan and ultimately to hell. Lukewarmness is not tolerated by God so we have lots to fear.

I feel sorry for our young people that sit under this weak leadership in our churches. The older women are not teaching the younger women as they were commanded too because they too are not dressing like women of God should in many cases. Those that do dress like mothers should dress are just to carnal to care about and rebuke the younger women. I saw a 55 year old sister come to church is a slinky black spaghetti string after 5 dress and couldn't keep her seat for trying to flaunt in front of the brothers. Is that right?

Alll things are expedient, but not all things are "lawful."We have the legal right of freedom to do whateve rwe feel we need to do, but that doesn't mean it's a wise choice or the best things for us. This is why, through salvation, we receive the Holy Spirit, to lead and guide us into all truth, and all rightouness, along with the natural conscience. If we could but visualize the actual presence of God, enthroned in our services, I would think we'd find conviction and shame, in knowing that we are embarassing and disrespecting Him, as we reveal and put on display "all our goods". A natural husband takes issue with all of his wife's "goods" being on display for another man's,appraisal, how much the more would God feel the same indignation and dismay? The average natural husband would insist that his wife "put some clothes on", and the Holy Ghost commands the same thing, whether we heed the voice of rghtousness or not.
I think the keyword in the question is "provocative" which is an adjective that means to arouse. If that is the intent of the wearer of course that is wrong. Only viewing the backside of the young lady in the picture, I'm sure there are men, prayerfully NOT saved men, that could be provoked. She is covered up?

but as in an earlier discussion it was pointed out that there is a difference between admiration and lust, just because someone admires you (speaking to the sisters) does not mean they desire you.

We have to always keep in mind our own perception to others, a young African woman attended church with bare legs (no stockings) after becoming a regular, it was mention to her privately why she never wore stockings, she stated in her country, the region she was from, the only women that wore stockings were prostitutes, and that it was hard for her to assimilate into the habit of wearing them.

I do not believe in a clothesline religion, I believe when the Word of God is taught, that whatever a person needs to take off or put on they will because of the Holy Spirit that lives inside them.

When we focus on how we can improve and edify ourselves through the word, most find they don't have time to be a fashion police.

Today we are living where believers are transforming their life on the edge. They believe that they can be save and remain connected to the world. Hear ye the word of the Lord - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commanments, is a liar, and truth is not in him. I John 2:4; verse 15, Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. This is why the men and women come to church dress as though they are going to a party at a night club, and look dress up in the ":FLESH" attire. Which is control by satan ranking general. He will continue to pollute the mind of those that don't believe that an "Ambassador" for Christ, look like an Ambassador. God is Holy, pure and clean; see you have to have a change heart and mind of Christ. In your wardrobe, it should always represent Christ Jesus well in royality. Women need to adorn themselves as women. Cover yourself. Whatever is in you is going to come out, no discipline in your wardrobe, it is going to sure up. When we stand before the Lord, you will hear, you will not be able at that time to speak/already recorded, all that you wear, all that you say, and all that you "DEED". May God saturate our heart to believe the gospel truth, that will not perish by yielding to the fresh and spirit of error.

I fine it quite interesting that when it come to dressing up a woman, most religions other than Christianity, tend to cover her up completely, especially the Muslims, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. But when it come to Christianity our women seems to be pulling clothes off or wearing tight revealing clothes. I know the scripture says come as you are, but didn’t that mean if you didn’t have anything else to wear, just come as you are. And wasn’t this really supposed to be applied spiritually? You know, don’t wait to clean yourself up before you come to Christ, but come and allow Jesus to clean you up. What do you think is going on when you hear church Women saying “it’s nothing wrong with being a little sexy,” Doesn’t sexy mean lustful? Sensuality is a common thing in the church these days. Women dressing in tight jeans and mini skirts right in the church? I’m not trying to sound rude, but if we go back about 40 years, wouldn’t these things be considered tramp clothes. I guess you think it’s judging if I assume the worst about a woman if I see her come to church dressed like this . Doesn’t the word also say that you can judge a tree by the fruit it bears, and if I see a person bearing the fruit of salacious behavior, then this person obviously have a spiritual problem. In my home church if women dressed a certain way they couldn’t even sit in the front of the church. As a matter of fact they would have been covered up with a sheet. And that was just 10 years ago. What’s really strange is most Christian churches believed this way about 50 years ago. As time progresses we are going to see more of this in the churches because no one wants to put these women in check. Just imagine if another 50 years go by, women will be wearing thongs with high heels to church. Except the days be shorten there will be no flesh saved. Now what about the men, coming the church looking like pimps and players, some with pants sagging with tall tee-shirts on. Street clothes and being a thug for Christ? It seems to me that Satan is trying to bring Pimps and Whores in the church and no one is saying anything about it. But these ministers sure do preach tithes to them, church full of whores and whore mongers but they pay their tithes. Fornication is at an all time high in the church and the word tells the leaders to put them out of the church, not to give company with them. Now if you are offended by this blog you got to take that up with the Lord, and if this doesn’t apply to you , Amen!

Brother Banks would you post a picture of what you think young people appropriately dressed in your opinion should look like.

Now I belong to a Holiness church and we have a dress code for those that belong, dresses for women, now never would anyone be turned away for coming in jeans, mini skirt or whatever... simply because that is not Christ like to turn anyone away from the House of the Lord, we show them Love/God, then we encourage them to come to Sunday School, Bible Study so that they can be taught, but when you show the love of Christ, people change! when you teach the word, people change. When they are anointed with the Holy Ghost people change.

I am sicken by the language I've seen here by s/aints, used to describe individuals, pimps, whores, whoremongers... is this the attitude of a saint? do you realize that is seen on your face by individuals coming into your church? with eyes of love do you not see a testimony of one delivered if they were these names you use.

Sin is sin, fornication is and false witnessing as well, and if you weren't in the bed with them you are a false witness.


Now the bible says to marvel not, in the last days there will be perilous times. So yes we will see more sin, in homes, in churches, in communities and in this world.

So why you are putting the fornicater out of the church, don't forget about the gossiper, the lier, the gambler,the drunk,the adulterer, the cigarette smoker, defiling his temple, the drug addict, the backbiter, the self-righteous, the jealous person, the coveter, the contrary, the faithless, the thief (cheating on your taxes) whewwwwwww! nobody at church?

I was taught as well the church was a place you come just as you are, you don't stay as you are. This self-righteousness has got to go.

First of all instead of firing off, take a look at what I said, you took what I said out of context. I never said do not show love to people when they come to Christ, or to throw people out the church for wearing jeans and mini skirts. I said that “if we go back about 40 years, wouldn’t these things be considered tramp clothes,” Now, this is the truth, whether you accept it or not, this is how the majority of the churches looked at those clothes. Women were pulled aside and talked to by older women if they went anywhere without a slip under their dress. They thought is was out of order if a young lady left the home with out one on, because they thought it was tramp like to show your silhouette through the dress.

Now if you are sickened by my language in saying whores & whoremongers, then you must be sick of the bible: In the scriptures- whore 15 times, whores 2 times, whoredom 22 times, whoremongers 4 times. You must be sick of Moses, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and many more.

One of the last churches I visited was full of fornicators, some even professed that they were shacking up, every year new babies born out of wedlock. WHAT KIND OF CHURCH DO YOU GO TO? If you go to a church that all of this is going on, then you need to come out from among them. The same list you provided sounds like the list of those not going to inherit the kingdom of God: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

HOW CAN WE BECOME THIS UNLESS WE ADVOCATE OR TEACH THIS. GOD'S CHILDREN MUST KNOW AND WALK IN THE SPIRIT IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THIS.

The bible says, they that are in the flesh cannot please God. If we make people comfortable in their sins by keeping away from the subject of their sins and not showing them what the scripture says about sin then we are not good stewards in teaching God's word.

Though none of us may be there yet we better get with the program quickly because Jesus is soon to come.
