(CNN) -- The boy writhes uncontrollably on the floor, but the church members remain calm, if increasingly loud. They're trying to drive a "demon" out of him. "You homosexual demon, get up on outta here!" they say. "You demon, loose yourself!" "You sex demon ... you snake!"

The shouts, the convulsions, the references to homosexual spirits -- they are all captured on a video posted on YouTube by the Manifested Glory Ministries. The video has sparked anger among gay youth advocacy groups and put the small church from Bridgeport, Connecticut, in the middle of an ongoing national debate on gay issues.

Patricia McKinney, pastor of the nondenominational church who describes herself as a prophet, said she has even been receiving death threats as a result of the video, but doesn't understand the outrage.
"I believe in deliverance, I believe in anointing, I believe in the power of Jesus," she said in a phone interview with CNN. "I've been threatened already, I've been attacked, and it doesn't make any sense to us. Really, what they're doing, they're putting me out there on the mat." McKinney says she doesn't refer to the events of the video as an exorcism, but rather a "casting out of unclean spirits." She said this isn't the first time that an event like this has taken place at her church, but it is the first one centered around homosexuality.

McKinney said the boy approached the church and told her he wanted to be a pastor, but was struggling with his sexuality. "We allow [gay people] to come into our church. We just don't allow them to come in and continue to live that lifestyle," she said. "God made Adam and Eve," she said. "He made a woman to be with a man, and a man to be with a woman."

Robin McHaelen, who worked with the 16-year-old boy at the center of the video in her position as executive director of True Colors Inc., a gay youth advocacy and mentoring program in Connecticut, said the video was taped in March. She would not identify the teen. McHaelen said she doesn't think the church acted maliciously -- but that's part of her problem with the video. The event, McHaelen said, reflects a culture and society that doesn't believe a person can be both Christian and gay. "That's what makes me so sad and so mad," she said.

"None of the people in this video were intending to hurt this kid," she said. "They performed this ritual in an attempt to rid him of feelings that he didn't want to have."

QUESTIONS:
(1) Does the methodology bring true deliverance?
(2) Were the civil rights of this young man violated?
(3) What do you feel will be the ramifications of this CNN interview against the Church at large by gay rights advocacy groups?
(4) Does the Pastor's explanations bring harm or hope to the ministry for unbelievers?

When the Apostle were attempting to cast a demon out of a boy while JESUS was up on the mount with Peter James and John, they had a hard time. JESUS Himself said when He cast it out "some of these won't come it without fasting and praying". This does no mean a five second thing, this described a PROCESS. The Apostles were always in prayer with CHRIST. JESUS was speaking of fasting and praying for that particular situation. Some spirits put up more of a fight than others. Not everything happens instantly. Sometimes people were healed by Christ instantly, other times it said "that same hour", other times it was "as they went".

Homosexuality does in fact deal with rebellion, spiritual bondage, and false god worship, so there is a demonic force to be cast out. The ONLY reason why a lot more aren't cast out is because 1) a lot of people doubt the power of GOD in such a way, and 2) a lot of homosexuals actually desire such a lifestyle. You cannot cast a demon out of a person if there is no desire to be free. You would have no legal jurisdiction on that person. In that case, if/when the demon leaves, its taking the person along for the ride.
I feel for the young man whose expressed a desire when he told the Pastor "he wanted to be a Pastor but that he was stuggling with his sexuality." Whether it was earnest or not, we are not his judge. But if he had a genuine call on his life, was this the appropriate response in her posture? Fasting and prayer would have been in order. Paul did not ask the woman with the spirit of divination if she "had a desire to be delivered" - he cast the devil out because she was mocking him as an Apostle of God. This is the reality of the warfare we are dealing with in this videos projection by allegations of abuse and presumed civil rights violation by activists.
Moreh,

Yeah man, its that simple. You see just how much difference adhering to the written text make?
Moreh,

Yes my brother.

There is no scripture to support your homosexuality is a demonic force claim. Homosexuality like heterosexuality is a sexual orientation nothing more and nothing less.
Considering Out-Of-Wedlock Births is about 70% in the Black Community, how would some of you feel if they were casting out Fornication Demons?

"...there not "casting out" any other kind of demon..."

If so, I would imagine in many churches they would run out of floor space.

Amen Brotha! If we gone cast out a homosexual demon, cast out every other demon. God bless you man!
It would be foolish considering the origin.

How many people actually understand the origin of such things such as homosexuality? Any doubters here can explain this for us?

"It would be foolish considering the origin."

"How many people actually understand the origin of such things such as homosexuality?"

If by those statements you are suggesting that homosexuality is caused by demonic possession, and fornication is not, then the fornicators are worst than the homosexuals. The fornicators are deliberately violating the Word of God of their own free will, whereas the homosexuals, who are supposedly controlled by demons, are not.

The scripture does condemn actions other than homosexuality, it is just the pastors and leaders who preach on what they want to preach on. Again, it does not matter whether we are accepted by people if we are not pleasing God.

1 Corinthians 5:11 KJV
But now I have written unto you not to keep company , if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat .
Brother if you look at some of my previous blogs or forums, I give equal attention to all sin when preaching. It is my belief that we are living in the last days and we ALL need to get right with God. Not just homosexuals but liars, fornicators and hypocrites too. I love all of my brothers and sisters and I think the truth is in order. I myself ask God to forgive me daily for anything that is not like him and send me to the cross daily. I don't want any parts of any sin that would separate me from Jesus. Jesus loves us but he hates sin and has prepared a place called hell for those who chose to live in sin. I do agree that the church overlooks certain sins and harp more on others, but please understand that NO ONE ON THIS EARTH HAS A HEAVEN OR HELL TO PUT US IN.

Matthew 10:28 KJV
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
