(CNN) -- The boy writhes uncontrollably on the floor, but the church members remain calm, if increasingly loud. They're trying to drive a "demon" out of him. "You homosexual demon, get up on outta here!" they say. "You demon, loose yourself!" "You sex demon ... you snake!"

The shouts, the convulsions, the references to homosexual spirits -- they are all captured on a video posted on YouTube by the Manifested Glory Ministries. The video has sparked anger among gay youth advocacy groups and put the small church from Bridgeport, Connecticut, in the middle of an ongoing national debate on gay issues.

Patricia McKinney, pastor of the nondenominational church who describes herself as a prophet, said she has even been receiving death threats as a result of the video, but doesn't understand the outrage.
"I believe in deliverance, I believe in anointing, I believe in the power of Jesus," she said in a phone interview with CNN. "I've been threatened already, I've been attacked, and it doesn't make any sense to us. Really, what they're doing, they're putting me out there on the mat." McKinney says she doesn't refer to the events of the video as an exorcism, but rather a "casting out of unclean spirits." She said this isn't the first time that an event like this has taken place at her church, but it is the first one centered around homosexuality.

McKinney said the boy approached the church and told her he wanted to be a pastor, but was struggling with his sexuality. "We allow [gay people] to come into our church. We just don't allow them to come in and continue to live that lifestyle," she said. "God made Adam and Eve," she said. "He made a woman to be with a man, and a man to be with a woman."

Robin McHaelen, who worked with the 16-year-old boy at the center of the video in her position as executive director of True Colors Inc., a gay youth advocacy and mentoring program in Connecticut, said the video was taped in March. She would not identify the teen. McHaelen said she doesn't think the church acted maliciously -- but that's part of her problem with the video. The event, McHaelen said, reflects a culture and society that doesn't believe a person can be both Christian and gay. "That's what makes me so sad and so mad," she said.

"None of the people in this video were intending to hurt this kid," she said. "They performed this ritual in an attempt to rid him of feelings that he didn't want to have."

(1) Does the methodology bring true deliverance?
(2) Were the civil rights of this young man violated?
(3) What do you feel will be the ramifications of this CNN interview against the Church at large by gay rights advocacy groups?
(4) Does the Pastor's explanations bring harm or hope to the ministry for unbelievers?

1. Well, to be honest and specific.... I dont believe (having been in the deliverance ministry for about 7 years), there is a SPECIFIC way to cast out a demonic spirit, but except by how the Holy Ghost leads you to do so, AS LONG as the name of Jesus, the Cross of Christ, the Blood of Jesus and the Word of God are used.. but this particular church's method, honestly obviously didnt help the individual. And I dont believe it was so much as their lack of power or faith, or maybe their lack of consecrated and holy living, as much as it was the individual's non-willingness to BE set free. When you take a person through deliverance, they have to WANT to be delivered, THEY have to renounce Satan and all his works, they have to be willing to be free..

2. No, the Civil Rights of this young man was not violated; they did NO physical or bodily damage/harm to him. But, you know looking in the Spirit, for just a sec.. this is just another strategy of warfare from the kingdom of darkness against the kingdom of God, to attempt and silence the church from casting out his foul children (demons) from the lives of people...

3.I honestly believe that this CNN interview is a set-up to publicly humiliate this Church and try and bring more unwanted attention from these atheistic, anti-God people like the ACLU.

4. I beleieve that the Pastor's explanations can bring harm or hope to the ministry depending on the interpretation of the unbelievers of this event... It depends on how the unbeliever takes this scenario. But, whoever put that clip on youtube, if they belong to her church, they need to be rebuked by her, because that was out of order! No camera or video should be rolling during the process of deliverance from demonic spirits, its too risky and its also un-necessary. And if there has got to be a camera rolling, for the purpose of teaching, it needs to be shared within the house (the church) not openly to the public... the world does not understand this for they are not of the Father and does not receive neither heed to his ways.
Thank you for your response Mr. Marshall. Your comments are valid and substantiate the validity of the deliverance ministry from a biblical perspective. Legally, it could be argued that his civil rights were violated in conjunction with purported allegations of "child abuse" which would be the basis of claim for gay rights activists. I posed these questions because first, I strongly believe in the power of God under the ANOINTING to deliver, heal, destroy yokes, break bondages, etc; (2) civil rights law is my passion; (3) the attitude behind the Pastor's insufficient explanations brings yet another negative publicity indictment against the Church at large from the political arm of the gay rights movement; and (4) that we recognize the hostile, intentionional strategies of warfare by playing this video across the airwaves. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven suffereth violence....................". We will continue in prayer and intercession. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered! Be blessed man of God!
Apostle Deborah, praise God for you...It is so amazing what some of us chose to see (not using our spiritual eyes). The Word is true...that He desires that we prosper in health even as our soul prospers. I agree with you and believe thata we in the Body of Christ need to be as wise as serpents and gentle as doves. I watched the interview with the Pastor and too felt the her explanations was insufficient. It appeared to me that she was getting angry which lessened her effectiveness.

I believe that the Scripture encourages the believer to pray and speak/call out the demonic forces (liars, fornicators, jealousy, etc) that attach and attack the children of God. We have to be wise and leaded by the Spirit of God with the anointing as to when and where such events take place. God is gentle in the leading of such if and when the person under such influence(s) desires to be free of the bondage.
It is amazing to me what we call scriptural and not...videos and televisions were not available during the earthly ministry of Christ. But God the Creator has enabled his creation (mankind) to be creative enough for such mediums to be here during this dispension... (Now) Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God...God uses willing vessel who sometimes act out of zeal...but nevertheless they are willing to do what it takes to lead others to the saving grace (deliverance, healing) of Jesus the Christ. We all as vessels, need to know that the enemy of our soul is always looking for the opporturnity to create division in the Body...God bless those that seek to do your well and cast down any negative reproach that comes up against them, in Jesus name.
Casting out demons is scriptural. Luke 11:14 And he (Jesus) was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered. 15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils. 16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. 17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. 18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. 19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. 20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. And yes, from a legal perspective, I agree with you it brings harm.
(1) Yes it does. I have witness such things and have cast out demons myself, and can bare witness to this. Though some things needed cleaning up, like identifying the spirit properly (spirits & false gods of perversion, and witchcraft, not spirit of cocaine/crack/alcohol), but for the most part I say yes it was effective. I wouldn't say 100% though, because I was not there to see the ending result, nor did they show it.

(2) The young man's civil rights were not violated, nor was he assaulted at anytime. Lawyers no longer "search for truth" (except the few real ones left), they write out speeches and plan to win the debate. After going through a trial, I understand this first hand.

(3) This clip was GREAT publicity for the Kingdom of GOD and the power of the HOLY SPIRIT. I once heard a saying: "Bad news would have traveled around the world and returned again before good news would have put on his shoes". The enemies of CHRIST often preach the Gospels messages faster than the entire 5-fold ministry combined. If it wasn't for the Pharisees and the Sanhedrin, JESUS would have never came before Herod and Pilate, but due to "bad publicity" HE saw both of them in one night! The gay rights activists will act up some more anyway. Its the last days, so expect more than this. We're worried about this little thing, but at the same time, many believers elected a President who is pro-gay rights. allow me to be blunt to the rest of the Body of Christ and say this: SUCK IT UP, BECAUSE WE HAVE WARFARE TO HANDLE!

(4) That is not our concerning, for if we sit here and search for the best bow and gift wrap for GOD's present to the people, the party would have ended before we even got out the store buying the bow! Just present the gift of GOD and let them deal with it. No one keeps the gift wrap anyway; its the gift that counts! Besides, neither the doubters on CNN or BPN were delivered from homosexuality that day, but that young man. As far as her job description goes (Pastor/Prophetess, and not public speaker or legal advocate), she did a good job at explaining the Church's position on homosexuality, and what happened that day. Gay right groups will be coming down on Churches even more, but WHO CARES!?!? People will do what they will with such information.

Also, the person that placed that video out there, if a member, should be excommunicated for an attempt at sabotage.
"This clip was GREAT publicity for the Kingdom of GOD and the power of the HOLY SPIRIT."

They called this young man out his name (negatively), put their foot on his neck, threw his body around, and threw water on him and this is GREAT PUBLICITY to you?
GREAT PUBLICITY?!
This is what "church" is about?
GREAT PUBLICITY?!
I will need you to show me scripture where this is right (as per the Word of God) GREAT PUBLICITY?!
I've been reading the Word since I was old enough to read, I've also been in the church all of my life and have NEVER seen anybody get delivered by these means.
However, I have seen people get their jaw rocked from trying mess like this "in the name of Jesus."
Jesus NEVER did what I saw.
Every account of Jesus delivering someone from a spirit- He spoke to that spirit and they left.
On one account the demons begged to be let go.
So again, I will be waiting for scripture that proves what she did (and what you are agreeing to) was done the way the Bible said to do it.
Oh, and I also asked you a question a couple months ago that yet hasn't been answered.
She did not do a good job on explaining anything in regards to homosexuality and the church especially seeing that there is more hmosexuals wearing collars these days than in the club on Friday night.
The church needs to stop being so discriminatory and biased and do what Jesus said do; love Him, love His people in showing the love of Christ, preach and teach His Word and let Him do the work that is needed to be done.
The way the church is doing it now is revealing to the world just how irrelevant the church is in this day in regards to the needs of those they are supposed to be here to help.
I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF GOD AND THE HOLY GHOST, ACTS 16:16-18 WHEN PAUL & SILAS WENT TO PRAY A WOMAN POSSESSED WITH THE SPIRIT OF DIVINATION MET THEM AND FOLLOWING BEHIND THEM, BROUGHT HER MASTER MUCH GAIN. NOW SHE DID THIS FOR MANY DAYS. PAUL BEING A MAN OF GOD WAS GRIEVED, TURN AND SAID TO THE SPIRIT, (I COMMAND THEE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST TO COME OUT OF HER. AND HE CAME OUT THE SAME HOUR) (2). CIVIL RIGHTS ONE CAN SAY YES AND NO. I WOULD HAVE HANDLE IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY, IT WOULDN'T MADE YOUTUBE. WE MUST BE CAREFUL HOW AND WHAT WE PUT OUT AS LEADERS WE DONT WANT TO PUT ANYONE OUT THERE AND CAUSE THEM OR OURSELVE ANY HARM.(3) I THINK THIS WILL GIVE THEM MORE REASON TO COME UP AGAINST THE CHURCHES AT LARGE AND CREATE MORE LAWS ABOUT WHAT WE CAN AND CANNOT SAY IN THE CHURCH. IT TOOK ONE WOMAN TO TAKE PRAYER OUT OF THE SCHOOLS AND WE AS A WHOLE HAVE NOT GOTTON IT BACK INTO THE SCHOOLS.(4) I THINK THE PASTOR'S EXPLANATIONS SENT OUT A WRONG MESSAGE, MANY ARE LIVING LIFE STYLES THAT SHE DONT KNOW ABOUT SO, WE CANT SAY THAT IF I APPEAR TO BE DIFFERENT AND DONT ACT LIKE WHAT U THINK I SHUOLD ACT LIKE DOESN'T MEAN I'M WALKING OUT OF THE WILL OF GOD.
See the attached photo for one of many "Governmental Apostles" who speak to nations, influence legislation, rule with authority, lead men, etc., etc. Moreh, your antagonistic AntiChist-ian box is bleeding on every blog you have commented on to be expected before its read.

Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law and Justice, the Christian Legal Society, and a few others whose membership is composed of Pastors, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists and Teachers are fighting daily for OUR CHRISTIAN LIBERTIES of which I am member. So yes I agree with you that this will give more reason to come against the Church as there are hundreds of cases across the nation that have reached the Supreme Court level that started with incidents similar to what the video depicts. Thank you for reminding the readers of this blog that it did take one woman to legislate prayer out of schools and for sounding the alarm for BELIEVERS to be more active outside the walls of the sanctuary. While men slept, the enemy sowed tares. How long will the LEADERS ON THE FOREFRONT sit idly by and turn a deaf ear to indictments like this? I believe God is positioning Governmental Apostles, male and female, to lead the nation in righteousness who represent the Kingdom in every sphere of society.
The methodology brings deliverence. The young man was exercising his free will. The Pastor's explanation, let unbelievers know, that the ministry is there to provide support for positive change and deliverance. The church-at-large is under attack and the intensity of the attack, will increase, as the mainstream media is available as a platform and sounding board for the gay rights advocacy groups.

What the church must realize though, is that, their is a bigger issue at the forefront and that, the issue is birthed from the diabolical realm of the supernatural. The issue of homosexuality and gay rights around the world and in America, in specific, is one of the many systematic strategies, by the enemy, that are designed and orchestrated to tear down the rights of Christians, in this country, to assemble, openly worship God and freely preach the unadulterated word of God. The practice of homosexuality and self-pleasure, are age old systems, being recharged and reorganized for end-time warfare. It is being orchestrated from the diabolical realms of the supernatural and manifested on earth, with the overall intention, to silence the church forever. These actions, by satan, is an all out declaration of victory, as the church finds itself caught off guard and intertwined in his evil end-time warafre, strategies and systems.

God is shifting the Body of Christ, because they have not grasped the seriousness and the intensity of the warfare, that is taking place, between God and Satan. The Body of Christ cannot handle the intensified and cunning, warfare of the devil, so God is shifting us. An attitude or paradigm shift, from the heart of His worship room, will reinstate the order and the power of the five-fold offices of the church and elevate the Body of Christ into the authoritative realms and dimensions of the supernatural, necessary, to facilitate Gods endtime warfare plans.

This shift will change the way the Body is doing and handling its business with the reprobate and unsaved. God will be giving us weighty ideas and eyesight and insight, that will help us, to see and cause us, to think, in an end-time warefare mindset. We will not compromise His word, but we will learn how to present it articulately and wisely. We will know what to chew and what to reject. We will know that everything we say and do is supernaturally sensitive and prophetically timed and not always for facebook and youtube or even, at times, the christian social networks. In other words, we must know that the blind read differently from the sighted. But when they read, the content and the context is the same.

God is empowering, activating and sending forth end-time Apostles and Prophets, to lay a new order, for the church and realign us with His will. They will speak forth His "word;" empowering the Body and establishing strategies and systems, that will answer the tools, tactics, challenges and encounters, that are being manifested by the enemy, and holding predestined kingdom citizens in bondage.

Thank you Apostle Anderson, for allowing God to use you, to present this topic.

Consumed in His Purpose,
Prophetess Janice Fountaine
Prophetess Fontaine, you are hearing the Sound of God that is awakening the Body to come out of its sleep to redeem the times for the days are evil. Yes, God will be giving us weighty ideas and eyesight and insight, that will help us, to see and cause us, to think, in an end-time warfare mindset". It's a Kingdom Mindset. We will not compromise His word, but we will learn how to present it articulately and wisely. Every prophetic, strategic, revelatory word you have spoken I speak! Its Time! We bless the Lord for the awakening manifestation of the Sons of God, male and female, who carry an apostolic and prophetic anointing in this hour who know the times.
Fully Persuaded!
