I am trying to figure out the people in the world. Not just church people either... Jesus died for the sins of the world...how did Michael Jackson become Jesus? Not to take anything away from his talent or accomplishments, but I am wondering why we don't respond to Jesus' death the way we have to the death of Michael Jackson. People all over the world are running out buying his music and clothing and videos, etc. His face is all over the news and various other programs. When was the last time Jesus was mntioned on the 6 o'clock news about his death? When was the last time the people ran out to buy that "I gotta have Jesus' story in the BIible" book? It troubles me that the world put one man who did nothing to save this world over the Man that DID save this world.

WELL ALRIGHT, PREACHER! THAT'S THE "BENEDICTION, RIGHT THERE!
Here is my two cents worth. The world does what it does.

They are not sent.

Matt. 28: 19, 20.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

They are carnal.

Rom.8: 4-7 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

The world did what the world knew to do. I never heard Michael say he was God or even an idol to be worshipped. No he did not bring salvation to the world, but he was able to be a blessing with his Humanitarian acts, and thereby relieving the suffering of many. I applaud him for that showing of love. Some of us still fold a dollar into the offering plate. Yes, his personal life seemed to be a mess. So was mine, I was lost and without God in the world, but Praise God He heard my cry and rescued me. Now everyday I am humbled by the fact that “there but for the grace of God go I”. As far as Michael is concerned I am a “fruit” inspector but not a judge. It’s true that his passing got a lot of attention from the world. And all the while our children were watching and listening. Let’s see what we can gain from this to help them understand. Two things we can teach them; one being that if you work hard developing your gifts and talents you will be successful, and two no matter how great your gift or talent is, without God, without a personal loving relationship with Jesus, it will only lead to a road of destruction.
As for the world going after Jesus like they did Michael? Well maybe when we heed the call and stand up to the task at hand.

Luke 10:2
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Maybe then we will take over the six o’clock news. I hope my reply is received in the spirit of understanding for which it was written.

Peace & Blessings
It is just the World doing what the world does best.
First they loved Michael and lifted him to the highest heights then they loved watching him fall ----> and fall he did and the world ate it up. Then he died and they lifted him back up to a very high perch from which they loved watching him fall from. O well - thats the way of the world.
