I was in a discussion with someone and the subject of should a church tithe to another church or the spiritual parents of the pastors.
Is this something we were taught or is their a scripture base behind it?
Malachi 3:10 says we are to bring it in God's house to take care of the needs of church and the people in need as the early church in acts.
I would love the views and the opinions of other Pastors.

Thats not true at all. The Bible says in both OT and NT that the tithe and the offerings ARE the provision that the Ministers/Ministry are to really upon. Why on Earth are people still saying "the LORD will provide" while neglecting the tithes and offerings, when they are in fact GOD's plan of provision? Countless scriptures state that tithes and offerings are not only for the Ministry's needs, but the Ministers. In fact, the Ministers are to be first partakers of the provisions provided.
Trevor,
I know of the scriptures concerning offerings. What scriptures do you have to support your statement about tithes as the provision for modern day Ministries and Ministers. You said countless scriptures support this, so I am curious to know where I can find them. Thanks in advance.
Sure thing! When I said countless, you know I didn't really mean "countless". Its more like dozens! Nevertheless, I'll name just a few for now from OT to NT.

OT:

-Deuteronomy 18:1-8 (the Priests/Levites were taken care of by the people they ministered to)
-2 Kings 4

NT:

-1 Corinthians 16:1-4 (tithes collected for support of Jerusalem)
-1 Corinthians 9:5-14 (tithe collected to fund the warfare of ministry were spoken of as his right to receive rejected by Paul's own option)
-2 Corinthians 8 & 9 (tithes collected to fund the warfare of ministry)
-Matthew 10:9-10 (JESUS speaks of provision out of the hands of the people deserved for Ministers)
-Mark 10:28-30 (JESUS describes the blessing of supporting Kingdom Ministry)
-Philippians 4:10-19 (Paul saluted saints Philippians for supporting his ministry when no one else would, and speaks of the blessing of it)
-1 Timothy 6:5-19 (Timothy to teach the Ephesians about integrity with profits.)
-1 Timothy 5:17-18 (Timothy to teach about taking care of Ministers)
The new testament tells us that the bigger was best by the littler. (Hebrews) Remember, Abraham and the high priest. While it did say that Abraham gave a title to the priest. I know we are talking about one ministry to the next. If the pastor or congregation is a part of a group consideration should be given to tiithing with the group. Also, as I type I am reminded that the smaller house churches and ministries in the Jewish tradition would gather the tithes or an offering and take it to Jersualem doing the festivals for the church there. The blessig is in the giving and consistent given brings greater rewards.
render unto ceaser that what is ceaser and that to God that is God what is God s tenth of his money he allow you to make from his Job that he gave you were is his store house the place of your member ship you will give uncle sam what you owe him but wont give God what you owe him .and some give yourself all type of letters in front of your name but dont wont to give GOD what belong to him.shame on you.
AMEN!
Is there a scripture to support tithes as money. I thought tithes was crops and livestock. How is giving our money to a Pastor giving to God when most pastors are out of order.

Tithes is of the old testament law and was paid to the Levites, poor, widows and orphans. It was never spoken of as money.

Greetings Sister & EW Ministries,

In Matt. 23:23 and Heb. around the 7th chap. its new testament. Study it out.

Crops and livestock were part of the bartering system. We use paper money backed
by gold.

All it is, is just two different cultures. Who knows what type of currency we will have in the future.
There will still be some baretering, trade or exchange.

In Christ
Pastor R. Phillips Sr.
Tithing is not a bartering system brotha you need to recheck your scriptures. It doesn't matter what culture you are from, biblical tithing is what it is and was what it was. Nothing more nothing less.
amen sista
