Have you noticed that the media is constantly talking about sickness, medications, the latest surgical technique, alternatives to the normal medical practice, the cost of insurance for both doctors and patients, and so on. We have become bombarded with drugs, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, herbs, alternative medications, yet people are still getting sick and dying. This includes both Believers and non-believers. So, what’s the problem?

It has been stated by many that 95% of sickness is caused by diet. This may or may not be true. However, I believe it is because we have turned away from our Creator. We are following the advise, instructions, and ways of those He warned us Believers about–not just in diet, but in all areas of our lives!

Exodus 15:26 And said, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of Yahuweh your Alaha, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments [Instructions in Righteousness], and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians:for I am alHayah Yahuweh El Eloh that heals you (with Shemetic Names Added).

LET’S START HERE:
As Americans, what is wrong with our diet?

Have we listened to, agreed with and chosen to eat what those, who do not follow truth, are selling to us and our families?

Here is what generally makes up the food for the SAD or Standard American Diet. Check out this list and see if your cupboards and refrigerator are filled with these.

Rice, flour, sugar, shortening, etc., white and void of nutrients.

Little to no bran in our food or diets. Usually all bran and germ have been removed from grains that are ground into flour or made into cereals. When some is re-added to these flours, it is poor quality and nine-times-out-of-ten old or rancid.

Full of inferior oils: Canola, soy (vegetable), corn, margarine, lard, shortening, etc., which have been said to be a major cause of diabetes, heart disease, etc..

Full of sugars - white, brown, confectioners, maltodextrin, corn syrup, man-made sweeteners, etc., which breaks down the immune system and causes or exacerbates disease.

Full of chemicals - a very long list. We can go to the InterNet and find out why they are not good for us. (e.g. nitrates, nitrites, excitotoxins, sodium phosphate, which is now being added to meats & poultry!)

Most of the time good nutrients are taken out in the processing, then poor quality or bad nutrients are added to a great percentage of today’s foods.

Today’s foods are usually pre-packaged, genetically modified, hybridized, chemicalized and highly processed!

A friend of ours stated that "Manna Gatherers" are those who go out into the world, gather food and pre-package it to sell to us in stores.

I call these rascals thieves.
They rob us of our money.
They rob us of our health.
They rob us of our peace of mind (shalom).
When we are diseased, we are in dis-ease.

And the worst part of this is–we are allowing them to do this to us and our families without any argument!

So...What does the Owner’s Manual [Torah, Instructions in Righteousness] say?

In turning away from our loving Creator, we turned away from His Instructions in Righteousness, the Torah, also known as the first five books of the Bible or the Books of Moses. Some call this the "Law" and say it has been done away with. However, when religious leaders and teachers tell me to do the things that Yahushua did, I have to respond with "Well, He did it all! Why aren’t we?" Yahushua was Yisraelite from birth. He was/is from the tribe of Judah. When He returns, He will be Yisraelite. He kept the Commandments (all of those applying to Him). He ate Biblically kosher. He kept the Feasts and Holy Days. He kept the 7th-day Sabbath, etc. He was and is and will be Malak Paniym Yahuweh.

A portion of the Instructions in Torah teaches us how to be healthy and how to eat well.

These Biblically kosher (clean) instructions are there to keep us healthy and obedient–not to deprive us of certain foods. Some of the foods we are instructed not to eat are:

(1) pork
(2) shell fish
(3) improperly slaughtered animals
(4) unclean animals (certain birds, fish, reptiles, insects, etc.)
(5) certain fats of animals
(6) blood of animals

All of these things are considered to be an abomination to alHayah Yahuweh.

What is an abomination?

The meaning of the word abomination uses the two most vile words in Hebrew Aramaic language–shequets and toavah. In English, these would be translated: putrid, vile, detestable, detestable thing or idol, unclean thing.

Anything unclean or anyone unclean cannot appear before the throne of the Almighty! And, those who continue in this state will be cut off or die.

Leviticus 7:21 Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing .... even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

If we are obedient to His Commandments/Instructions in Righteousness, we receive a blessing.

If we are disobedient to His Commandments, we receive a curse.

However, let me state right here, we will not receive eternal life from being obedient to the Commandments. These Instructions were never intended to provide eternal life. Salvation is and has always been by grace through faith in Yahushua, the MessiYah.

Please note how the following verses about blessings refer to food:

Exo 23:25 And you shall serve alHayah Yahuweh your Alaha, and He shall bless your bread, and your water; and I (Yah) will take sickness away from the midst of you.

Psa 104:15 And wine that makes the heart of man glad, and oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man's heart.

Why is it that many people hear Yahuweh's words and ignore them? It is because they have created their own god---a pick-and-choose god---who permits them to follow any rules, any time, or even make up their own set of instructions. This is not a safe thing to do.

Here are the simple dietary instructions from Torah:

Leviticus 11:1 (vi) Yahuweh said to Moshe and Aharon,
2 "Tell the people of Yisrael, ‘These are the living creatures which you may eat among all the land animals:
3 any that has a separate hoof which is completely divided and chews the cud - these animals you may eat.
4 (4-6) But you are not to eat those that only chew the cud or only have a separate hoof. For example, the camel, the coney and the hare are unclean for you, because they chew the cud but don't have a separate hoof;
7 while the pig is unclean for you, because, although it has a separate and completely divided hoof, it doesn't chew the cud.
8 You are not to eat meat from these or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.
9 "‘Of all the things that live in the water, you may eat these: anything in the water that has fins and scales, whether in seas or in rivers - these you may eat.
10 But everything in the seas and rivers without both fins and scales, of all the small water-creatures and of all the living creatures in the water, is a detestable thing for you.
11 Yes, these will be detestable for you - you are not to eat their meat, and you are to detest their carcasses.
12 Whatever lacks fins and scales in the water is a detestable thing for you.
13 "‘The following creatures of the air are to be detestable for you - they are not to be eaten, they are a detestable thing: the eagle, the vulture, the osprey,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzards,
15 the various kinds of ravens,
16 the ostrich, the screech-owl, the seagull, the various kinds of hawks,
17 the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
18 the horned owl, the pelican, the barn owl,
19 the stork, the various kinds of herons, the hoopoe and the bat.
20 "‘All winged swarming creatures that go on all fours are a detestable thing for you;
21 except that of all winged swarming creatures that go on all fours, you may eat those that have jointed legs above their feet, enabling them to jump off the ground.
22 Specifically, of these you may eat the various kinds of locusts, grasshoppers, katydids and crickets.
Leviticus 11:23 But other than that, all winged swarming creatures having four feet are a detestable thing for you.
24 "‘The following will make you unclean; whoever touches the carcass of them will be unclean until evening,
25 and whoever picks up any part of their carcass is to wash his clothes and be unclean until evening:
26 every animal that has a separate but incompletely divided hoof or that doesn't chew the cud is unclean for you; anyone who touches them will become unclean.
27 Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, is unclean for you; whoever touches its carcass will be unclean until evening;
28 and whoever picks up its carcass is to wash his clothes and be unclean until evening - these are unclean for you.
29 "‘The following are unclean for you among the small creatures that swarm on the ground: the weasel, the mouse, the various kinds of lizards,
30 the gecko, the land crocodile, the skink, the sand-lizard and the chameleon.
31 They are unclean crawling creatures; whoever touches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.
32 Anything on which one of them falls when dead will become unclean - wooden utensil, article of clothing, leather, sacking - any utensil used for work; it must be put in water, and it will be unclean until evening; then it will be clean.
Leviticus 11:33 (vii) If one of them falls into a clay pot, whatever is in it will become unclean, and you are to break the pot.
34 Any food permitted to be eaten that water from such a vessel gets on will become unclean, and any permitted liquid in such a vessel will become unclean.
35 Everything on which any carcass-part of theirs falls will become unclean, whether oven or stove; it is to be broken in pieces - they are unclean and will be unclean for you;
36 although a spring or cistern for collecting water remains clean. But anyone who touches one of their carcasses will become unclean.|
37 If any carcass-part of theirs falls on any kind of seed to be sown, it is clean;
38 but if water is put on the seed and a carcass-part of theirs falls on it, it is unclean for you.
39 "‘If an animal of a kind that you are permitted to eat dies, whoever touches its carcass will be unclean until evening.
40 A person who eats meat from its carcass or carries its carcass is to wash his clothes; he will be unclean until evening.
41 "‘Any creature that swarms on the ground is a detestable thing; it is not to be eaten -
42 whatever moves on its stomach, goes on all fours, or has many legs - all creatures that swarm on the ground; you are not to eat them, because they are a detestable thing.
Leviticus 11:43 You are not to make yourselves detestable with any of these swarming, crawling creatures; do not make yourselves unclean with them, do not defile yourselves with them.
44 For I am alHayah Yahuweh your Alaha; therefore, consecrate yourselves and be qodesh, for I am qodesh; and do not defile yourselves with any kind of swarming creature that moves along the ground.
45 (Maftir) For I am Yahuweh, who brought you up out of the land of Kemet to be your Alaha. Therefore you are to be qodesh, because I am qodesh.
46 "‘Such, then, is the law concerning animals, flying creatures, all living creatures that move about in the water, and all creatures that swarm on the ground.
47 Its purpose is to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.’"

Please take the time to read about the actual blessings and curses in Deuteronomy 28:1-68. You will be in for a real surprise and an tremendous education!

So, the question is, "Does Alaha care about what we eat?" Since He created us, I’m sure he had a special plan for keeping our bodies in tiptop shape. Here is a book recommendation which will give you a wonderful insight into Yahuweh’s plan for us in the area of eating: Qodesh Cow by Hope Egan. Hope covers such topics as eating meat, science and biblical food laws, being biblically kosher, eating meat and milk together, and more. This book may be purchased from First Fruits of Zion at ffoz.org.

If we are obedient to His Commandments/Instructions, we receive a blessing.

If we are disobedient to His Commandments/Instructions, we receive a curse.

It is that simple! And please keep in mind that not all of the Instructions in Righteousness pertain to everyone. Our Alaha covered many areas of life, but there are wonderful ways to apply these Instructions in Righteousness and receive wonderful blessings from our Mitzvot (good deeds).

However, please remember, you will not receive salvation/eternal life from being obedient to the Commandments/Instructions. Salvation comes by the Atonment and Obedience to the Torah [Instructions in Righteousness], believing and trusting in the Abba Alaha alHayah Yahuweh El Eloh and His haMashiyakh Yahushua ben Yahuweh El Eloh. It was His sacrificial payment for us on the "tree," as the Lamb of Alaha, who frees us from haSin. When we turn to Him in faith and true repentance to receive the forgiveness of haSin, and He hears us and gives us a new life and a new heart. He freed us from the death penalty of Torah, so that we could freely live out a Torah observant life.

May your life be filled with blessings from your obedience to Torah!

Kadimah! (Invoking momentum, strength, resolve and passion)
