O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens? When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained.

Today's message is a reminder of our sovereign Almighty God who set the heavens high above the earth. The mighty works of His fingers are awesome when we consider the vastness of the universe and all of God's creations obey His commands. Even the seasons obey our sovereign God, then why not you and I given where man is in the order of creation? God's love for man is demonstrated when He breathe the breath of life into man which was referred to in verse 4 by asking, what is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? God gave man dominion over His creation. Man was made a little lower than the angels and has crowned him with glory and honour (v 5). God's love is further demonstrated in Christ's atoning work on Calvary's cross restoring the broken relationship between God and man (John 3:16). God's unmatchless love!

God is God and there is no other before Him nor will there be after Him; He is Alpha and Omega. Given the sovereign of God we can say like the Psalmist, O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
