Mending a Broken Relationship: Ephesians 4:2; 1 Peter 4:8

                     Mending a Broken Relationship: Ephesians 4:2; 1 Peter 4:8

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

What are relationships? Relationships are defined in the way in which a person or persons are connected, or it can be defined as a state of being connected (Online Dictionary).

There are several kinds of relationships, and some are: (a) family, (b) friend, (c) romantic, (d) work, (e) Faith community, and (f) a relationship with God.

For today's discussion, I want to talk about family relationship and our relationship with God. The common thread listed in our texts is love; love causes us to bear one another burdens, love causes us to be forgiving of one another when we are wronged as love forgives a multitude of sins. Through Jesus Christ's atoning work on the cross at Calvary, our sins are forgiven; thereby, restoring a broken relationship between God and man. Then why not forgive one another in love and maintain and or restore a broken relationship. This is what Christ did when He sacrificed His life for all humanity.

When our relationships become strained, why not do as scripture says by having a humble spirit and let love overrule any misunderstandings, thereby restoring a broken link.

A stable relationship is governed by love.
