ALMIGHTY GOD AND PERFECT TEACHER.
Psalm 119:26 -- I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
Almighty God,
You are the perfect Teacher,
but we confess that we are poor students.
Your Wisdom challenges our sensibilities so we lean on our own understanding.
Your Truth demands a loyalty we are unwilling to give so we stumble along in darkness.
Your Way is narrower than we prefer so we choose to follow our own path.
Our report card in Your classroom shows a failing mark.
Forgive us, O God,
and release us from our guilt.
Open again the wellspring of Your instruction and teach us how to live,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord
