Ok. Newview. You do what you do.
James.
Do you ever refer to the NT?
Newview,

Yes.. is there something you want me to talk about in there? Ask me any question.
For me, "God" is a title. It is not a species or kind. "God" is a title of authority; the supreme authority. No else can be G-d.

The Hebrew words used for "God" can be somewhat deceptive only because its not understood by most people. The term is better translated as "Mighty One". When speaking of others it can apply to humans of great authority or "power". When speaking of YHWH it is often pluralized in the sense of quality. This is why the Strong's has 2 sets of definitions for "elohiym" based on its context. The only context in which we find the English "God" and "the (true) God" is in the plural intensive form which has a singular meaning. In this case "elohiym" takes over the same concept of the words "el shaddai". Elohim expresses a plurality of might the same way that el shaddai does in "God Almighty".

Human beings can be mighty indeed, but only one is "ALmighty" because only one possesses ALL might.

You have to understand what the bible says. Many see it saying "god" in English simply because that's the word translators chose to use. In some cases I think they were wrong. Judges can be "mighty ones". And in one case in particular with psalm 82. This is a warning to corrupt judges.

This comes from Adam Clark's commentary

http://www.godrules.net/library/clarke/clarkepsa82.htm
Verse 1. God standeth in the congregation of the mighty ] The Hebrew should be translated, "God standeth in the assembly of God." God is among his people; and he presides especially in those courts of justice which himself has established. The Court of King's Bench is properly the place where the king presides, and where he is supposed to be always present. But the kings of England seldom make their appearance there.

its not introducing new theology. It's not calling anyone else gods. It is mistranslated.

So to answer the question. No, I am not and never will be a god. YHWH created man upon the earth and to man he gave dominion over the earth. That is what we shall have.

shalom
I agree that God is a title, but if we are to be as he is, would we not be what is called God as well?
